If Bowser died and came back, would all of his secondaries (which is probably the majority of the Koopa Kingdom) be half strength for a week? I'm not being cheeky, I genuinely don't know.
Most of his secondaries would be their own entities. I doubt he had hundreds or thousands of assists bought. You can summon secondaries without them being an assist. If Bowser fought someone in a 1v1 and spend 1 sp to call a Koopa to his aid, that Koopa would have reduced stats by my reasoning.
The reason I think a secondary (or any other assist) would be affected is because:

Hence, in a fight, an assist's strength would be linked to the prime's ressurection sickness. Since their power is leant to them by the prime.
