Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Little Rose - 03-02-2018 When a Prime is experiencing Summoning Sickness, does any Asisst they may have that consists of summoning someone to their aid also suffer from the half stats? RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Blink - 03-03-2018 (03-02-2018, 09:18 AM)Sandy Myst Wrote: When a Prime is experiencing Summoning Sickness, does any Asisst they may have that consists of summoning someone to their aid also suffer from the half stats? Do you mean Resurrection Sickness? I'd say that anyone you've already summoned prior to the 'sickness' does not suffer from the half stats (since only your prime died, not the secondary you had already). Does that answer your question? I'm not 100% sure I understood. I think Myst's question boils down to whether assists/powerups have reduced stats along with your base stats during res sickness (i.e. the things you spend sp on to get stat boosts, or temporary non-fodder allies with stats). The Rules Wrote:The physical effects of 'resurrection sickness' make a prime weaker immediately upon resurrecting (half effective stats and SP, 10 points of accumulated damage) and gradually wear off over the course of an OOC week.Since the rules do say "half effective stats" generally, I'd argue that yes, assists do have reduced stats. Since the stats assists get in fights share your 'prime energy' or whatever (because Omniphysics). Outside of a fight, it's up to the writer's discretion. (I'd suggest that a summoned golem would probs be weak but your secondary bro would be peachy regardless of when they were summoned) RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Blink - 03-03-2018 (03-03-2018, 04:37 PM)Viola Wrote:(03-03-2018, 04:23 PM)Blink Wrote:(03-02-2018, 09:18 AM)Sandy Myst Wrote: When a Prime is experiencing Summoning Sickness, does any Asisst they may have that consists of summoning someone to their aid also suffer from the half stats? My argument would be that only the Prime died, not the secondaries, so they shouldn't be effected. If Bowser died and came back, would all of his secondaries (which is probably the majority of the Koopa Kingdom) be half strength for a week? I'm not being cheeky, I genuinely don't know. RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Viola - 03-03-2018 Quote:My argument would be that only the Prime died, not the secondaries, so they shouldn't be effected. Most of his secondaries would be their own entities. I doubt he had hundreds or thousands of assists bought. You can summon secondaries without them being an assist. If Bowser fought someone in a 1v1 and spend 1 sp to call a Koopa to his aid, that Koopa would have reduced stats by my reasoning. The reason I think a secondary (or any other assist) would be affected is because: Quote:Assists allow you to call in others to fight for you, be they a friend or a being chained to your will. Like Powers and Transformations, you can choose to explain this IC how you like, be it you lending your power to 'activate' an ally’s abilities, or using your power to summon a being into temporary existence. Hence, in a fight, an assist's strength would be linked to the prime's ressurection sickness. Since their power is leant to them by the prime. RE: Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP) - Blink - 03-03-2018 I'm fine with that reasoning. Since their power is leant to them by the prime. The Rules state that the Prime has half Stats, not that their Assists do. You might as well say that all their Power-Ups only give half the bonus Stats they normally would. This sort of thing has to be mentioned in the Rules if it is supposed to function this way. RE: Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Daniel - 03-03-2018 Split because this was definitely not quick. I'm going to say that, until Omni or Alex say otherwise, Res Sickness does not apply to Assists. Or powered up forms? (it's under the same stats for sp bracket) RE: Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Daniel - 03-03-2018 Just apply the Res sickness to your base stats (again, unless Omni or Alex decide to say otherwise). RE: Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Little Rose - 03-05-2018 Well this explains why I couldn't find this again. Thanks. I had much the same thoughts expessed here, and came to similar conclusion that the Assist shouldn't because they arent the Prime, but I figure I should get it officially answered. So until Omni or Alex say otherwise I will go with this answer. RE: Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Alex - 03-05-2018 I was under the assumption that everything was halved ("at half effectiveness"). edit -- my other question would be "...does it matter?" Why you trying to get cheeky with people right after you just smackdowned to death RE: Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Little Rose - 03-05-2018 Okay. So what's the virdict then? Because I am convinced either side is right at this point. RE: Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Alex - 03-05-2018 It's what I said, until/unless Omni verifies otherwise. RE: Res Sickness and Assists (Myst's Question) - Omni - 03-05-2018 A few people in this thread have confused Secondaries (NPCs) with Assists. Assists are essentially a power your character uses - like a summon. They are an analogue to Power-Ups, for non-Power-Up using characters. So yes, their effective stats would be halved. |
