It took a long time to reach what Leo later confirmed to be one of the portals in the horizon. He didn't know how much time he walked, but it was a lot. Although it would've been probably less if the absolute white that covered the whole place weren't so... expansive. And confusing.
After a certain point, when the dots became recognizable gates, he turned his walk towards the one which had people guarding it. Talking with someone was exactly what he needed, regardless of how prepared they appeared to attack; their weapons visibly and ready.
"Uhm... Excuse me, sir?", Leo asked one of the armored men... or were they women?
"He's talking to you, it seems." It was a woman's voice.
"You don't have to say it", the other one said, addressing his partner. He turned to face Leo. "What do you want?"
"Oh, well...". What did he want? So many things. To go back, to know what was going on, to know where he was, a place to comfortably sit, maybe something to eat too...
"You're new here, aren't you?"
"I guess that's one one of saying it... To be honest, I have no idea what's going on... whatsoever."
"Well, then i guess it's on me to welcome you to the Omniverse," said the woman guard.
"But don't they already get a memo before coming here? Did you sleep through it?"
"You don't have to be rude to the kid. Just look at him and tell me he doesn't appear to be lost"
"Eh..." Omniverse? Well, he did remember hearing something like that during his recent nightmare.
"In any case", said the male guard, "It's not our job to guide him and tell him what a ton of books already talk about."
"Well, he's right. Just pass through this gate and look for the Library of Coruscant. Everyone knows about it, and there there's plenty of information a new prime like you can learn from"
"Oh, ok. Thank you." Was all Leo could say. He was too confused to properly ask for specific information, and it seemed these guards weren't so eager to help him, despite the somewhat friendly answers. Checking a library could work though.
When he was about to cross, the male guard interrumpted him with what he said.
"And don't look for trouble. The Imperial Army will get to you eventually."
"No, I won't. But thanks anyways."
Not wanting to deal with them any longer, Leo crossed the portal.
"You just wasted a perfect oportunity to do something. Why you have to be so direct?"
"Oh, come on Daria, we're guards, not guides"
"But guarding is the most boring activity you can work for! I'm not even sure if it counts as an "activity". I would rather be talking with a lost kid than stand here doing nothing"
"You could talk with him. I didn't sent him anywhere; he walked on his own. Nothing stopped you from keeping him here and talking your shift off"
"..."
"You even agreeded with me about sending him to the library"
"..."
"... What?"
"You're the most boring person I could be stuck with."
"What did i do now?!"
"Nothing! And that's the problem!"
