A fresh memory - Leonardo Watch - 12-08-2017 Leo couldn't move, not a single muscle. But he tried, and when that proved fruitless, he kept doing so anyways. "Not again", he thought. "Not again! Never again...!" The darkness was all-consuming. There was nothing to see, nothing to feel, and, as he proved, nothing to do either. He was at the whims of yet another of his nightmares. Panic was starting to build inside of him. He promised himself that he'll never allow his fear to stop him ever again. But, as always, his dreams were there to remind him of how pathetic he actually was. But wait... where was Michella? A figure appeared in front of him. It was definetely not her. The vaguely humanoid man started to talk, but Leo couldn't hear anything of what he said. His mind was too busy crying and screaming to pay any attention. The figure gave Leo what appeared to be an orb made of... something. His body moved on its own and took it, without any input from him whatsoever. Even his own body was beyond his control. "No!", he thought. "I don't want it! I don't want anything from you! Leave me alone!". He didn't need any more stuff from "superior beings" given against his will. He wanted to throw the ball to the featureless man, but that, too, was too much to ask. Omni Wrote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.” The darkness got replaced by light, and now he found himself standing on a white landscape. His body was once again under his control, something he found out by how he almost fell to the floor; his body finally reacting to all the strength he was using on his attempts at moving. It took him a moment to react to what just happened. The "dream" was real, something the weird orb on his hand proved. With all his strength, he threw it to the fountain in front of him, which he just realized was there. "I don't want this shit!", he yelled at nothing. ""I'll be watching and waiting" my ass! FUCK YOU!" He pressed his hands into his head; his whole body shaking. Tears started to fall. "It happened again, and i couldn't do anything... Again. Why?!" Slowly, he sat on the white floor, sobbing. The memories of what just happened replayed on his mind over and over again. It was the same helplessness, the same self-pity, that he felt when that demon took his sister's sight to give him his new eyes. He was glad no one got hurt this time, but he couldn't shake away how pathetic he felt. It was as if the gods enjoyed toying with him, using him to play who knows what kind of cosmic game, with he being forced to silently watch. It was even in his name, "to watch"... … A few minutes later, when the rewinded memories stopped having any emotional effect on him, he pushed them aside, and stood up. He observed the water fountain; the only feature on this whole place. It was just a circular wall made of whatever the floor was made of, with a single water jet in the middle. In the water, the ball he threw earlier was floating, moving with the gentle current of the little pool. Leo took it, and sat on the fountain wall. It was a weird orb, with a whole rainbow shimmering on its surface, like nothing he has seen before. He didn't know from what it was made of, but he was sure that, if light were a solid, that would be this orb's material. Leo opened his eyes. Under his vision, the orb looked exactly the same. No texture, nothing inside of it, no invisible pattern. Just a solid orb "made of light". He noticed the floor shimmered with the same rainbow as the orb though. While it did look to be made of something specific (albeit unknown to him), behind that white material, an almost invisible iridescence could be seen. Besides observing what Leo had in front of him, there was nothing else to do. Not that he wanted to do something, but eventually, being alone on this place started to creep him out. He didn't know anything about it, and he didn't pay any attention to the weird dude explaining it, so he was lost. Sharpening his vision, he noticed something on the horizon. Between a certain interval, he could see some kind of structures in the distance. They were too far away to distinguish their exact features, even with his vision. But he wouldn't lose anything by exploring on his own, would he...? He better not. RE: A fresh memory - Leonardo Watch - 12-11-2017 It took a long time to reach what Leo later confirmed to be one of the portals in the horizon. He didn't know how much time he walked, but it was a lot. Although it would've been probably less if the absolute white that covered the whole place weren't so... expansive. And confusing. After a certain point, when the dots became recognizable gates, he turned his walk towards the one which had people guarding it. Talking with someone was exactly what he needed, regardless of how prepared they appeared to attack; their weapons visibly and ready. "Uhm... Excuse me, sir?", Leo asked one of the armored men... or were they women? "He's talking to you, it seems." It was a woman's voice. "You don't have to say it", the other one said, addressing his partner. He turned to face Leo. "What do you want?" "Oh, well...". What did he want? So many things. To go back, to know what was going on, to know where he was, a place to comfortably sit, maybe something to eat too... "You're new here, aren't you?" "I guess that's one one of saying it... To be honest, I have no idea what's going on... whatsoever." "Well, then i guess it's on me to welcome you to the Omniverse," said the woman guard. "But don't they already get a memo before coming here? Did you sleep through it?" "You don't have to be rude to the kid. Just look at him and tell me he doesn't appear to be lost" "Eh..." Omniverse? Well, he did remember hearing something like that during his recent nightmare. "In any case", said the male guard, "It's not our job to guide him and tell him what a ton of books already talk about." "Well, he's right. Just pass through this gate and look for the Library of Coruscant. Everyone knows about it, and there there's plenty of information a new prime like you can learn from" "Oh, ok. Thank you." Was all Leo could say. He was too confused to properly ask for specific information, and it seemed these guards weren't so eager to help him, despite the somewhat friendly answers. Checking a library could work though. When he was about to cross, the male guard interrumpted him with what he said. "And don't look for trouble. The Imperial Army will get to you eventually." "No, I won't. But thanks anyways." Not wanting to deal with them any longer, Leo crossed the portal. "You just wasted a perfect oportunity to do something. Why you have to be so direct?" "Oh, come on Daria, we're guards, not guides" "But guarding is the most boring activity you can work for! I'm not even sure if it counts as an "activity". I would rather be talking with a lost kid than stand here doing nothing" "You could talk with him. I didn't sent him anywhere; he walked on his own. Nothing stopped you from keeping him here and talking your shift off" "..." "You even agreeded with me about sending him to the library" "..." "... What?" "You're the most boring person I could be stuck with." "What did i do now?!" "Nothing! And that's the problem!" ... |
