A half hour had passed and Ryu found himself once again in front of the clean steel gate. Two guards stood outside the gate, each in clean white battle armor, helmet included. They each held what looked to be a rifle, however, it was far more advanced than anything the ninja had seen before. He had seen eight gates in total, ranging from steel to roots and vines, one that he could feel the heat radiating off of as he passed it, to a snowy one. Each of them at least double Ryu’s height and equally as wide. Each with a purple colored, what looked like gel filling the inside between the posts. He still felt as though there were many questions to be answered, but knew with very few souls around, he wouldn’t get what he wanted from this place. He spurred the horse on again, this time reigning it in before it got to full speed, he wanted to think as he rode, and going full speed made the trip to fast. Still traveling in a clockwise motion he came across a gate of stone that was old. Worn and eroded, he passed it, it didn’t look like something he wanted to investigate, at least not right now.
Next, he came across a smoking gate, the one that he could feel radiating heat. That didn’t seem like fun either, no, he definitely wouldn’t be traversing to that verse either, he enjoyed a much more temperate climate than that. Up next, vines and bark twisted and contorted themselves around one another to form the gate. This place looked fine to the ninja, it gave him a sense of nostalgia, though the shinobi couldn’t place his finger on where the feeling was from. Was it some form of childhood memory, maybe from something more recent, he couldn’t remember, and it bugged him. He continued on, still trying to reach back into his memories, but it didn’t help. Ryu vowed to try and worked it out, but answers came first.
The next stop on his grand tour of the white room was an archway made of clean stone, cut and shaped to form the archway. As he passed two being emerged from the gate, spars held at their sides, clad in armor. The ninja noted this to himself as he continued finding himself next in front of some gray stone, with moss growing around and on it. He studied the moss for a moment, noting how it clung to the steps and stones of the archway, however, died seemingly immediately once it reached past the boundary of the gate. Curious. It appeared that each gate contained something new, something different from all the others, yet their power ended at the gate. Why? What was keeping them each from corrupting this place? He continued another question that would need answering, another reason to get this journey over with as soon as he could and start to find the answers he was looking for.
Next, he found himself in front of a gate made purely of ice and snow. A faint chill could be felt as he rode past, again, the question of how that could survive in a room much warmer than snow and ice, but he lumped it up with the desire to understand the moss and moved on. One his “trip around the world” his next stop he was met with two bending palm trees, meeting in the middle above the gate. This, along with the two made of stone and steel, and the one of bark and vines seemed like the most natural for Ryu to explore first. If what Omni had said was true, and the ninja didn’t have to worry about dying, then there would be plenty of time to explore each and every one of these gates. For now, at least, Ryu decided to stick with something easy, something he might have a better shot or understanding
