Deflection is inherently powerful, that means not taking damage instead of what Desco does, reduce damage by hardening skin.
And it's not just that but that a deflection can be used offensively. It's not just negate attack, it throws the attack at something else. in group battles this is very notable even if you can't aim the deflect direction
