At the time of posting, I am currently looking for new people to role-play with. Check the latest replies for the most up-to-date information. Here is my role-playing etiquette:
When I feel like posting, I post. When the person I'm with feels like posting, they post. They can control my character and I can control theirs. This way when you're really feeling it you don't have to wait on someone else, and you don't feel like you're getting harangued to post when you really don't feel like it. Obviously it's great when you're on a vibe with someone(s) and bouncing off each other, but in the real world it doesn't always work out like that. I'm often busy with staff work and that has to take priority, so someone who is pretty laid back but still active would be good.
Of course, if someone drops out for absolutely months then eventually I'm going to cut them out of my thread. This is more for a week-to-week thing.
I also think it's good to communicate with people to make sure you aren't jacking up their character. If you're not sure about the way one of my characters would act, I'd rather you Skype me. I greatly enjoy the planning aspects of story and bouncing off someone else's ideas, so if you find that fun, that's also a good thing.
Information on my characters:
Samus is basically what you'd expect. Strong, Silent. Strong sense of justice and absolutely unforgiving of the morally corrupt - pirates, slavers and the like. She is slow to trust but those who she comes to trust she trusts absolutely. She would mesh well with any other good characters, for anyone neutral or bad, expect a lot of friction. Enel is a murderous lightning-powered sociopath who literally believes he is the one true God. Any partnerships with him are likely to be extremely unstable due to his extremely fricative personality, and thus anyone joining me might want to consider being a rival or taking on the role of one of my NPCs (I have one who I'm going to feature in my dunes story).
