Windfall Island - OOC Thread

Little update for everyone - since the activity is down a bit and we need some way to timeskip in the event that nobody has anything to say, if there is nothing to do and most characters are just withdrawn to their workplace, homes etc. and are visibly not going to be active for a while in the IC day, you can put up a quote post to conclude and skip forward.

Maximum time for this is 12 hours ahead, no skipping from noon of day 1 to 8AM of day 2, and don't do this if you have your character withdrawn but there's still some activity going on.

If you wanted to conclude your story and you can do it in one post, write a quote that notes you are still in the pre-timeskip space, do your thing, then write a little something to after the timeskip if you want.

Another thing I forgot to add to the initial rules is if you and another character are having long-winded conversations or interactions of any sort. You can just open a new thread for that, possibly link it in your last post in the main thread, and come back when you are done with it. That way a small group of characters are having their thing won't be holding up anyone else, nor will they feel pressured. (just remember that due to Omniverse physics they may find that an hour of conversation has turned into 2 days for everyone else)

I would suggest skipping to the evening - with most people being done with business for the day and others just getting started with theirs, I think it would revive the thread before it goes really dead.

Sounds good to me. Its hard to have a motive when you're writing about simple life.

just wanted to throw this out there, but anybody who wants to is welcome to contribute to this whole "Kelp is sick with something weird" storyline I've got Dasha on right now. I figured it would give some semblance of a plotline to make progress on since there aren't a ton of events happening right now.

*ahem* Well, Windfall Island did unfortunately not work out as well as I'd hoped, but I believe I learnt a lot from this.

For those of you who want to keep the character that they made to play on the island, I would propose the following to save them: Imperial prospectors have discovered a vein of raw Omnilium under the island which is not only worth a lot, but also very hazardous, as was evidenced by people going insane in Dante's Abyss 2016. They want to mine the vein out but doing so will risk collapsing parts of the island. Furthermore most of Silverrock town would have to be demolished to create new entryways into the underground areas to mine the valuable Omnilium, and what remains would be needed for miners and other workers to live there. In other words, the inhabitants of Silverrock Town are currently in the way.

The Empire offers the inhabitants an amount of money to purchase their property and everything on it, as well as arranging a trip to the mainland bringing all of that person's belongings and equipment with them. While the compensation isn't amazing, it's certainly better than to be expropriated, which is what will happen to the people who refuse the initial offer.

In OOC terms: You can take off with your character to Costa del Sol if you like!
