Warren:

Thanks for putting your moves in your roster, but there are huge discrepancies between your purchase log, roster numbers, and your posted moves. If you clean it all up and maybe clarify better which moves are for Ricky and which for Warren, I can give you better feedback.

As it stands, Warren seems to be armed with just tons of different weapons, many of which have very similar functions which equate to single-target damage at various ranges, so redundancy is a problem here.

Conversely, you have precisely zero defensive or mobility options, so while you have lots of options for attack, Warren is a sitting duck. Your stun knuckles and your NFL ring, and maybe the chaos spear are the only attacks that warren really needs to be functional, imo.

I'd consider refunding a few of the superfluous ones and buying energy shields, maybe an assist, and at least a defensive super move to start rounding out Warren's combat abilities and buying burst movement or super jumping.

Arturia

Needs more everything.

Gilgamesh

Looks pretty good fam, not gonna lie. I don't have much to offer in the way of practical move-set development.

Your defensive and mezzing options are solid, but you might want to invest in a T2 Super Defense as soon as possible, especially since you're gonna be playing with the big kids. If anything I would suggest some escape options if you yourself get bound up or held, and potentially look into getting an Assist soon.

Otherwise Gil is extremely well-rounded, and one of the few Prime on the site I consider to be a genuine threat.

I will be buying him defensive moves, and a Supermove geared around Defense, as well as increasing Warren's mobility, and adding more multiple target moves to his arsenal. In addition, I will also be adding more stats to defense, and mobility.

How about Illidan?

Illidan

Your baseline moveset appears to be well-rounded, especially for the highly mobile fighter that Illidan is. I would, however, consider investing in some multi-target abilities. Illy Dan is clearly a superior duelist, but with his current layout, I feel like he would have a hard time against multiple foes. An AoE attack wouldn't hurt.

Having some moves that offer escape options, as opposed to simple control over the opponent, would behoove him. That, or you can begin to look into potential Assists to take some of the heat away from Illidan if things start to become a little too focused on him.

Shantotto

First and foremost, you need to make an official Move for your Stardust rod. You'll need that if you want Totto to be able to defend herself when she's not channeling a spell. Furthermore, I would consider investing in a cheap shield spell that she can pull out quickly and dismiss as she needs it. There's no need to play into the 'squishy wizard' archetype in the OV.

To that end, I think your offensive abilities are very solid at this point, so Defense and Control are going to be your next move priorities. If you REALLY wanna be in shape for DA, however, I would recommend getting at least a T1 Super Defense immediately. After that, your priority should be a T1 Attack, and also a Power Up.

I notice that most of Shantotto's spells seem to be a targeted AoE damage, as opposed to a single target. This is certainly useful, but you might want to have a higher damage, precision attack available for her when she's in a duel.

Whirda

*ahem*

While your moveset is fairly sexy, I'm not sure it's compatible with contemporary Omniverse combat rules, specifically the fact that your T1 powerup unlocks enhanced abilities for most of your moves. I'm not sure about that, though, so check with your local Mod. In addition, contemporary move rules would define Umbral Maelstrom as a T1 offensive utility instead of a defense.

Mechanically, Whirda is clearly built to be an assassin-type prime, and to that end, I feel like she would function well. If she was facing a tank, however, I can see her having trouble scoring reliable hits through any sort of armor and shield. Additionally, all of her attacks seem to be very endurance costly.

To those ends, I would start to invest in some light skirmishing attacks and maneuvers that she can use when she starts to feel winded. This will allow her to stay on her feet in a fight while catching her breath. Simple things like caltrops, ball-bearings and other traps that have limited use but don't use up her energy.

You can also consider investing in debuffs that help neutralize other Primes' defenses, such as poisons that interrupt concentration or corrosive solutions that undermine heavy armor.

In terms of power purchases, I would consider getting Suppression right away. Currently, any prime with enhanced senses is going to be able to break through her main line of defense, which is misdirection and stealth.

Vics move set is a bit of a random mess so any advice would be appreciated

I cleaned up my roster for you, so hit me. Also, I know I need a Super D and some Super U, but anything else you could advise would be super sweet. Gosh. *Is anxious!*

Please do Jim Raynor as well, I liked your advice for Illidan.

Victor Wolfe

Your moves aren't as scattered as you think they are. To me, Victor appears to be a pretty proficient melee/debuff character. To that end, I think he is most effective when at least one ally to draw a stronger opponent's attention, so an assist would be prudent, if he finds himself alone. Something big and tough.

To that end, Victor's defensive capabilities need to be examined. You're going to be a dodge defender, at any rate, so you really want to consider having a few moves that give you increased escape options, and as a pure melee specialist, you also need mobility to give you a chance to close distance. Gem blast is a good start, but I would push his mezzing/escape angle.

By definition, Wolfe essentially delivers death by a thousand cuts, as opposed to a more traditional 'sneak attack for big damage' rogue build. When you have your opponent whittled down, however, an ATK focused power-up will help you close in for the kill when your target is bleeding and helpless. I would explore more ways to open up vulnerabilities in your opponents, but like you said yourself, your first priority should be getting a T1 Super Defense to stay competitive in your current weight class.

Atelos

A bit cut and dry, if I'm honest. There are good fundamentals here, but you should consider finding more ways to burn SP aside from your T1 Defense. I think Assists are going to be a natural extension for Atelos in that regard, since any Spartan warriors he summons already have the moves they need from his basic repertoire.

Since you've got Ranged Proficiency, you may want to consider getting a ranged move that does not force you to lose your spear or shield. Maybe some javelins, or if you're feeling magicky, a Hades fireball or some such thing. With a generalist like Atelos, you need to be able to respond tactically to any combat situation he's put into.

Sasuke

Since you're starting to play with the big kids, a T1 defense is going to need to be your next purchase. Simply having one in your roster forces your opponent to change their tactics to account for the fact that they can't get cheap shots on Sasuke with their super moves, which is critical, since he's a dodge-build. Aside from that, your base game on the offensive seems solid, so I would start investing in ways to turn the battlefield in your favor.

Traps that can create areas of denial or force opponents to move where you want them to will play well when Sasuke is in artillery mode. You have good escape options and high mobility, so look into getting the Debuff proficiency, which will allow you to keep enemies pinned down and vulnerable to heavy jutsu assaults. The ONLY additional basic attack that I think Sasuke might needs are some Kunai, so he can have a quickly accessed ranged attack that isn't costly in terms of time or endurance.

Wanna take a stab at Viola? She synergised a lot already. I've already got my standard attack/defense super moves and my PU (with 5/0/5/5 stats) approved, just need the OM to get 'em. Besides that, what'cha think?
#97
Great suggestions, thanks!  I tend not to build my characters with fighting other Primes in mind (which will have to bite me in the ass eventually), instead letting the story make my move and power decisions for me.  Most likely I will need to divest the improved shadow moves from shadow form and just have them be dual-mode moves where one expends a small amount of energy for a small effect, and one expends a large amount of energy for a stronger or more diverse effect.  I'll consult my friendly neighborhood Protoman on that one.

Whirda definitely struggles against heavily armored enemies (read: the tarrasque), but tends to be able to outlast and wear them down before using clone swaps and detonations to clean up.  I think she partly came to be this way because I was writing with Alex for so long and he provided so much brute force that I subconsciously balanced around not needing to handle certain threats. :fullderp:

I will definitely be looking at Suppression next.

Jim Raynor

I'm officially adding Jimmy to my 'Primes I'm Nervous to Fight' list, so...good job! Your current moveset allows Jim to be a top-tier generalist, and he's able to attack and defend with authority at almost any level of engagement. That being said, you should consider where you want to take him next.

Your offense and defense game is on point, and your drone allows for interesting possibilities for suppression and battlefield control. Aside from building up the capabilities of his Goliath suit, I think you may want to look into buying the Buff proficiency and give Raynor some additional support capabilities. Things like healing medical spray, or abilities that remove debuffs from other Primes would really round out Raynor's combat abilities. These are, obviously, expensive, but if you don't know what to spend your OM on, it's always a good investment to make.

Viola

Dane, why you gotta give me a headache like that.

Bottom line, Viola is what I would classify as a 'Dominator'. She controls the battlefield, and her opponents, to keep the damage going in one direction as much as possible. The most glaring issue I see with her is that, even in her support role, she burns through endurance like a motherfucker. Mechanically, I think her moves are built well, but all of her abilities rely on her having a wellspring of energy to keep her time shenanigans fueled. Being that she's a frail little girl, I'd be surprised if she could go two rounds in a big fight.

Having a move that allows you to convert SP into physical endurance would be a pretty big boon to Viola, and would ensure that you can keep your defenses going strong. Without them, she's completely helpless. Additionally, while you've done a good job prepping Viola for a support and TEC defense role, you should consider finding ways to control opponents. Simple 'time holds' or even just slowing a particularly enemy down (without slowing he entire world down) will be low-endurance options that can keep her effective in a late-game fighting.

That being said, get a goddamn assist and a T1 defense. I know you have a character concept in mind, but against any other of the site's stat monsters or TECnicians, Viola is gonna get annihilated the second they decide to toss a Super her direction.
