Hard-Light Construct: Works as Telekinesis, but creates a required hard-light object that must physically manipulate the subject of the Telekinesis. This construct can be attacked and damaged through physical means just like any other object. Additionally, if Sinestro's concentration is broken, the construct will collapse.


Note: I see this as Telekinesis, but actually weaker. Having the costruct present doesn't provide any benefit, and has the downside that it can attacked directly to stop the effect. Telekinesis is an invisible, unstoppable force and the only way to stop it is attacking the user. See where I'm coming from?

I'm pretty sure you can guess, the Emperor just doesn't really like the Tangled Green much. They aren't officially allied with the Kingdom, but they basically are. He doesn't actually expect you to spy on them, he fully expects the Joker to ignore that mission and just go cause trouble for Mokugakure or the elves. I'll let you run with it.

“Are we going to the circus?” asked the Joker. “I want to go to the -”

“Shut UP!” barked Dredd. He marched the man along indelicately, one hand continually pressed on the Joker’s back. They came to a tall tower. Not as tall as the Emperor’s, but evidently still suitable for someone of importance. Several jokes came to mind, but the clown found it difficult to jest while being manhandled through a doorway. Difficult, but not impossible.

A minute later, he was being thrown into a containment cell and left to talk to himself. But it wasn’t long before the Judge came back, looking even more pissed off than he usually did. He brought with him a small circular device, which floated into the air and projected a hologram. An elder gentleman with greying hair, clad in a robe. He didn’t look anything special.

The Joker looked from the hologram, to Dredd, and made an assessment. “Is this your grandpa?” he asked.

Dredd said nothing. But the hologram spoke.

“Welcome to Coruscant.”

“Some welcome,” responded the Joker, shaking his head. “I like the bouncy castle,” he hopped up and down on the padded floor, toothily grinning. “But your doorman is a serious buzzkill. You ever consider hiring someone who knows how to smile?”

Palpatine did as much, but ignored the statement. “I understand there was some violence at the Nexus, which ended in the death of one of my soldiers.”

“And for that,” said the Joker, pressing his hands together and puckering his lips towards the hologram, eyes as big as he could make them. “I am so, so sorry.”

“Yes.” said the Emperor. “In fact, I’m willing to forgive you.”

“Eh? I mean, uh, goodie!”

“On one condition.” The Emperor’s image flickered as he bent forward. “You see, there’s an errand I need run.”

“And you want me to do it?” The Joker pulled a quizzical duckface.

“I’ll make it simple, since you’re new. My soldiers will escort you to a particular verse – a particular world. You will go and spy on them.”

“Oo, what world? Is it a circus world?”

The hologram’s mouth twitched into a grin. “Not yet. They call it the Tangled Green.”

Once you've been approved, you'll want to post your staff-provided roster sheet and post it to a new topic in the Roster. You can then put additional details in a new reply below your sheet. The bare minimum is to include your move descriptions and some basic stuff like age, height and a picture - the rest is up to you. Perhaps your character's history from their own world, their personality when encountering new people, or their fighting style. Many storyline runners will require these details before letting you join, so you may as well do it sooner than later.

See how everyone else has a link to their roster and purchase log underneath their avatar? You'll need to add these yourself, manually, by going to User CP: Edit Profile - that way people can click to your profile immediately from any of your posts! Here's a guide if you need it.

Your first post should have you arriving at the Fountain of Infinity at the Nexus (click for info), as explained in the Introduction to the Omniverse. You can skip to after the intro takes place but you cannot alter it. This includes having your character able to speak to Omni, move or otherwise. You'll want to make a new topic where your character arrives and reacts to the situation they've been thrust into. Are they shaken? Angry? ... Or excited? This post can be as long or brief as you like, but you need to make it before you can travel to any of the other verses. Please make sure to read all of About The World before you start posting, as many people start breaking established canon immediately by using omnilium to instantly summon things, etc. This is a real pain in the ass for us.

From here, you can continue to roleplay by yourself if you want. Most folks, however, will want to get involved. Check out Omniverse Discussion and see if anyone has any open roleplays going, or what the big event of the moment is. If nothing else, drop a post in the Looking for Group topic. Don't use the chat box please. Don't worry about formulating some great plot right from the start - just start writing and see where it goes. Most folks post every few days rather than daily, so try to be patient and respect other people's plans. Unless you've got a group of friends already waiting, you probably aren't going to be questing through the Vasty Deeps as part of a player-pirate crew immediately.  

From the Nexus, you'll likely want to head to one of the gates described here. Any single gate is about two hours walk from the Fountain (it takes about four hours to walk from one end of the Nexus to the other).

Some things your character might try with Omnilium upon first arriving (see here for more help and ideas. Make sure you understand how summoning works before writing it!):

Try to make a mount or vehicle
It works! Though it can never seem to get beyond about 80mph. It takes about five minutes.
Try to make new clothes
It works! Though it takes at least three minutes.
Try to heal
It works, although very slowly. Resting normally achieves the same effect.
Try to open a portal
It seems like it would take reserves of omnilium far beyond what you currently have.

REMEMBER THAT SUMMONING ANYTHING TAKES AT LEAST THREE MINUTES OF SOLID, STATIONARY CONCENTRATION! USING OMNILIUM IS NOT INSTANTANEOUS.

Otherwise, we'd all be fighting by summoning giant walls of rock and stuff. :omni:

Another reminder: ALL NPCs need approval via the Help Desk. Pulling characters from unrelated media and making them your NPCs is generally a no-go.

Anything else?
Most of our roleplayers use Skype or Discord text chats for organising group roleplays; I'd recommend downloading both to cover all your bases. The Omniverse Discord already has a number of group chats anyone can use for that purpose. If you prefer a private group chat, skype is best.

I didn't wanna take away too much control, because I figured you guys might decide to just fly off, mavericks that you are. Otherwise, Aragorn will take you to Minas Tirith and you can either choose to stay there or in one of the outlying villages, or whatever.

You guys are welcome to split up, or hang out together, or whatever.

They stepped through the portal, and were greeted by sunlight. It was truly a breath of fresh air after the cold, clinical nature of the Nexus, with its omnipresent twilight. Several of the soldiers breathed deep, grinning and making relieved noises. Things could have gone a lot worse.

As she stepped through, Garona glanced behind her. The gate was surrounded by a circle of stones. It was strange to step behind the gate and see more land, where the Nexus should have been. It felt like she’d been shown the secret to a magic trick, except that it wasn’t a trick.

“It’ll be quicker to go by pegasi,” said the king. He started to summon. “Just do as I do.”

Before long, they were mounted up and flying to the capital. They were flying directly over a pass, obviously made to lead from wherever they were headed to the gate they had come from. Around it were plains of grass, fields, and hills with rivers snaking between them. In the far distance in every direction were mountains, as though someone had plotted out the world in a circle, then filled it in by hand.

As they came closer to the capital, they could hear something in the distance. Almost like the wind blowing. They looked down and could see dots; villagers. “They’re cheering,” called one of the soldiers to the Primes, leaning over with a grin on his face. e6gg

Dredd stepped through the portal first, followed by the Primes who’d chosen to follow him. He said nothing, merely stamping to one of the transports and pointing to it before climbing in himself. “Bring the perp,” he said to the stormtroopers carrying the Joker.

Through the windows, they could see the great city in all of its majesty. It stretched on for kilometre after kilometre, appearing to simply drop off somewhere far in the distance. It was night, but you could hardly tell – the upper tier was lit up and they could building after building, even the great metal towers beautiful in their architecture. Looking out of the sides of the transport, they couldn’t see where they were going until they arrived. Dredd was the first to step out.

“This,” he said, indicating with a chopping motion of his hand, “Is the Emperor’s tower.”

If they’d been in awe before at the size of the buildings, it was nothing compared to this. Just the ground level had to take up a square mile by itself. They had no time to stare up and try to figure out exactly how far up it went; Dredd was calling impatiently.

Waiting in front of the building were several human-sized droids, painted in different colours that seemed to match those of the Primes. They’d been quick to get them ready, apparently. The first one, plated in silvery orange, stepped forward.

“My name is CR-529. Welcome to Coruscant. As the Judge has prior duties to get to, we have been instructed to show you around the city and make you comfortable in your accommodations.” Each of the droids stepped forward to their respective prime, greeting them with their own synthesized tones of politeness.

“Keep out of trouble,” said Dredd before striding off, Joker in tow. It could have been his way of being welcoming.

For my (currently) solo storyline in The Tangled Green. Of course, feel free to comment on the writing or bring your character over there and join in. Mostly I made this to gauge what you guys want to see more of from that Verse. Should I focus on slaughtering goblins and orcs, maybe visit Yggdrassil and the elves, get some ninjas involved, or even tussle with dinosaurs and shamans and other weirdness? I have an idea in mind, but I'm always open to suggestions! Teamwork makes the dream work. :pac:
