Demon's Resolve
#1
Audible stepping was heard throughout the halls of Mitakihara Middle School. Homura marched throughout the hall, she had a solemn look on her face. "Homura-san!" Echoed a voice from behind Homura, immediately she turned around the solemn look on her face disappearing. "Madoka." Homura said a smile starting to appear on her face, she stood still waiting for Madoka to catch up. "Homura-san, why did you leave the classroom all of a sudden like that?" Madoka asked, breathing heavily, Homura made the assumption that Madoka ran after her. "I just had a bad dream, that's all." Homura said bluntly, her smile disappeared whenever she thought about that awful nightmare. "That was odd, I doubt it can happen though. A being more powerful than me? Never. A being that could take me away from Madoka? Nonexistent. A being that can destroy this heaven I made for Madoka? Don't make me laugh." Homura thought to herself as Madoka took Homura's hand breaking her out of her own thoughts.

"Homura-san, why do you have such a scary expression on your face?" Madoka asked, her voice filled with concern for her friend. Homura's face immediately changed, her lips changing into a smile. "Don't worry Madoka, I'm okay." Homura said her grip tightening around Madoka's hand. "Don't worry Madoka, nothing will stand in my way. I will destroy anything that tries to take you from me. I'll kill them, I'll make sure they regret the day that they are born. Things that try to harm you? I'll rip them apart before they can even touch you. I'll never let you leave me again Madoka." Homura muttered to herself her hand starting to tighten even more around Madoka's hand. "Homura-san, your hurting me." Madoka said trying to remove her hand from Homura's surprisingly strong grip. Homura let go of Madoka's hand in a hurry, a apologetic look coming onto her face. "S-sorry Madoka, I didn't mean to hurt you." Homura said, her violet eyes scanning over Madoka's hand to make sure that she wasn't too badly hurt.

"I know, Madoka why don't we go to the rooftop? I just need somewhere to relax. I'm just not feeling to well and I'm sure that Saotome Sensei won't mind." Homura said taking Madoka by the hand, ushering her through the hall. "W-wait, Homura-san, why do we have to go the rooftop? If you want I can take you to the nurse's office." Madoka replied, questioning Homura's choice of going to the rooftop. "No. I just..... I just want to go to the rooftop with you." Homura said looking back at Madoka to give her a smile. "Okay Homura-san, I hope this will make you feel better." Madoka said agreeing with her friend's request. Within a few minutes of walking Homura opened the door leading to the rooftop. As she stepped out onto the rooftop the wind picked up blowing her black hair. She moved her other hand to move the hair from her eyes and continued to usher Madoka outside. The wind soon died back down and Homura let go of Madoka's hand.

"I always love coming on to the rooftop, Madoka. The scene is beautiful, I love coming up here to watch the sunset. Do you like the view as well?" She asked walking over to the fences, peering through the wires, looking down at the school's entrance. "The view is nice, I like to eat lunch up here with you and our friends. Are you feeling better Homura-san?" She asked, her voice still full of concern for her friend's health. Homura's lips curled into a smile upon hearing Madoka's words. "She never does change does she? No matter how awful the world gets, she is still herself." Homura thought to herself turning back towards Madoka. "Let's go Madoka, we have to get back to class, don't we? I feel a lot better now thanks to you." Homura said, and started to walk back towards the doors again. "I guess that really was just a dream, no being can take me from Madoka." Homura thought to herself as she looked back and nobody was there. "Madoka!?" Homura said as she quickly paced back to the spot where Madoka once stood. As soon as she took another step towards the spot where Madoka had been, the ground immediately opened up. The beautiful rooftop that Homura once shared meals with Madoka, had turned into a black abyss. She fell down into the darkness, her body being engulfed by it.

Homura's eyes snapped open, she felt something cold and hard against her face. She stood up rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes. "A dream....?" She asked herself as she took this moment to scan her surroundings. She looked at the floor and saw it was blank. White, just blank, devoid of any color. The sky was the same way. Homura looked into the sky, there was no sun yet she could make out everything. She looked over herself to her surprise, finds herself in her dark violet dress. A odd sensation struck her, it felt as if she had a third limb. She looked to the side to see her wings! "Why am I in this dress? Why do I have my wings!? I thought I was in my human form when I was talking to Madoka." She thought to herself, her breathing growing heavier, her heart rate accelerating. "Was it all a dream? Was what I had just saw a dream?" She asked herself, it was obvious that she wasn't in Mitakihara City. She quickly tried to use her powers to teleport back to the rooftop. Nothing happen, Homura was shocked. "What!" She shouted, her voice full of shock. "So, that Omni being wasn't a dream?" She thought to herself, her shock starting to disappear. Instead of shock, rage started to fill her. "Why did that being take me out!? Why did it have to ruin it!? Why did it have to take me from MY Madoka!?" She thought to herself, gritting her teeth together in anger. "How dare it take me from my Madoka! 'Because you interest me'! Everything was so perfect, Madoka was happy, I was happy. No more endless fighting, the Incubator was in check." Homura continued to think to herself, her anger continuing to grow and grow.

"I'll kill it. I'll kill it and go back to my dear Madoka. No, I'll absorb it. I'll make sure that no other being can interfere with me and my universe!" She started to talk to herself, a smile forming on her lips. "Yes, that is precisely what I will do. Omni, you better watch out because you messed with the wrong demon." Homura said rising to her feet, the same smile on her lips. "That's right, once I absorbed you nobody can interfere. Combine my powers with yours. No other being will be able to even come near my universe!" Homura said a giggle escaping her mouth. "That's right, I need more power to make sure MY Madoka is safe. Homura said and started walking off into the distance. Her anger was now gone, she had a goal now. Her goal was to make sure that the being called Omni or any being wouldn't be able to interfere in her universe ever again. Within hours of walking she ended up in front of a gate. The gate was made from grey stone and covered in dark moss. She stepped into the gate disappearing from The Nexus.
