Warrior of Two
#1
His body lay still in the motionless void. As if in space, it constantly floated in place, weightless without any gravity to hold it. Was Beta Ray still in the void of space? Or was this what death really felt like? A void of nothingness and black, nor heaven nor hell. Not even the nine realms that surround Asgard were close. Was this a punishment or a trick of some kind designed by the World Eater, Galactus? Questions but no answers.

Beta Ray Bill's body still yet ached from the previous battle with Galactus but, to his surprise, no blood or scars were visible to his pale white eyes. Perhaps his hammer Stormbreaker, which was floating beside him, had somehow healed or protected him.

Bill scowled at the thought of the World Eater. By Korbin, he hoped - no, he prayed - that Galactus felt pain from the battle as he himself did. At least he could settle on that for revenge on the destruction of his people, a small and yet better taste of vengeance.

His thoughts were short-lived however. Squinting his eyes in the ocean of black, he saw a speck of light beginning to grow larger and larger until it was blinding. And then he saw it. A creature of some sort, glowing in all white, smiling.

By the realm of Eternity, what was it? A Celestial, maybe? No, perhaps it was a creature of fable and rumors, a Beyonder? There was no telling. The being could be hostile or even friendly. Maybe it can't speak or doesn't know his tongue. More questions and no answers.

Ready or not, Bill was unable to guard himself. His body incapable of moving as some invisible force like hands kept his limbs and torso from making any movement. Gritting his teeth, the Korbinite forcefully tried to move, yet it was a losing battle.

My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

It spoke! Yet how did it know that which Bill sought? Beta Ray Bill's eyes widened. He realized he couldn't speak. What manner of madness is this?

Reaching out with his hands the being… Omni placed a brilliant glowing orb of many vast colors in Bill’s palms.

“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours.”

Anything he desires? What a large boast that was. Such a thing meant that this Omni was indeed a cosmic entity.

“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn. That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

As quickly as the being had appeared, he faded away, leaving only the black void once again. Slowly, the darkness began taking form in his sight. Fearing what was happening, the Korbinite shouted, yet still he couldn't utter a single word. Slowly he drifted into unconsciousness.

“No matter where he runs, he will find naught but dust to sustain him. He will sicken. He will waste away. His hunger threatened the universe. Now his hunger will threaten him. GALACTUS WILL STARVE!”

Like a being arisen from an intense sleep, Beta Ray Bill gasped for air flipping off his back and onto his hands and knees, coughing. His white eyes widened as his gaze caught on to wherever he was. Just like the ocean of black nothingness, where he met Omni, he was now in a seemingly endless land of white. It appears he traded voids the only difference being color, landmasses in the distance, and near him a small fountain circling what looked to be a replica of the life tree Yggdrasil. An interesting choice for a fountain seeing as Bill held the powers of the Thunder god, Thor himself.

Of course was normal for him to end up in strange and foreign places but this Omniverse or what that… being wanted it to be called was off and awkward at best. Never have Beta Ray been to a void of pure white. One thing was for sure, it wasn’t outer space, no void of space even with the powers of the mighty Thor wasn’t frigid and cold. This space of white emptiness was stale. Wind nor air sturred unless one themselves made movement and temperature was almost nonexistent. A weird predicament indeed but Bill could survive. He always endured even when his original homeworld was destroyed he pushed through. He had to really, one couldn’t be the guardian of their people if they were fragile and weak.

Crawling several inches he scoured for his hammer until eventually laying his eyes upon it. Reaching out with both hands his Korbinite fingers wrapped tightly around the hilt and lifted it. Standing up straight he scanned the land like a hawk looking for prey. From the look of it was only him and Stormbreaker, for now at least. His face giving off an almost permanent scowl he sighed keeping his guard up ready for any surprise attacks. Omni stated that there were others in this place he prayed that most were friendly or yet those who would challenge would definitely taste the bitter wrath of defeat as Stormbreaker smitten them.

Anticipation and a tad bit of curiosity to figure out where his next journey would lead him and the thought of it is unwise to just stand about he knew it was time to make a move. With the flail of his ruby red cape, he set off putting one bronze colored boot after the other, making his way steadfast through the white void. In a side note perhaps sooner or later he would find someone with more knowledge of the Omniverse or better yet Omni himself? By the All-Father Bill knew he needed answers quick and he already grew tired of the confusion especially the cryptic answers Omni had already given him. Perhaps the landmarks in the distance would prove useful but he couldn’t tell unless he was close to one. It was already yearning to be a long journey yet only the tempests of fate could really decide that.

Only yards away from his previous location as if only Odin himself were watching over him Bill’s hope for someone being in the nexus of white was granted. Gazing out in the distance northeast of him a fair sized human girl with long brunette hair did the same as he was. Gazing out her deep brown eyes stared at Beta Ray Bill, light in complexion dirt and grim patterned her face. Laying in her palms she kept a rifle aimed at the warrior. Past the stern look and the narrowed eyes, Bill’s own eyes could see through her. It was all too familiar, He had seen it before in warriors and common folk, it was angst and the sense of doubt but most of all confusion. Even with the Thunder God's power and cybernetics that ran course through his body Beta Ray Bill closely knew those feelings as well. It was the feeling he had when his home and his people were hunted by the fire demon Surtur. It was the same feeling of fear, worry, and doubt when Galactus devoured his second home in result destroying the Korbinite race leaving only him. There was one thing however that kept him going- Hope and regrettably raging hate and anger.

Cautiously advancing forward he moved toward the girl making each precision step delicately not to make any sudden movement striving to not alarm her even worse and to prove he wasn’t a threat. Gradually the Korbinite warrior relaxed his grip on Stormbreaker sheathing on his back. Raising both hands level to his collar etching closer to the young girl.

“Fear not young one I shan’t harm thee.”
