[Round 2 - C] Ahana & Eternity vs Ok Dongja & Marisa
#1
The two teams had barely touched down when a member from each team found themselves experiencing extreme discomfort.

Out near the ships, Marisa shuddered as Dongja let out a scream and clutched at his chest. The man’s eyes had become bloodshot in a matter of moments. His knees caved beneath him as his fingernails turned into jagged claws. The teeth that filled his mouth went jagged as he struggled to remain lucid. Fur sprouted along his skin as his ears became large and furry.

On the other side of the docks, Ahana caught herself on a light pole and winced as her canines became jagged and slid down passed her lips. A glance at her hand revealed that her skin was two or three shades lighter. “Feels cold,” she muttered as her breathing started to normalize.

A familiar voice ran out across the docks.

“Find each other. Prove who’s the best. Make sure you do it before those curses take you over… no one signed up for a free-for-all, right?”

The Dock – It is night time. This Fight Area encompasses a large dock, roughly a few city blocks long. Beyond the Fight Area, you can see the shadows of buildings that loom on the night sky. Something about them makes you very unsettled, but you can’t explain why. The dock itself is like one from an industrial area—it is filled with intermodal freight containers (those big steel containers at docks). There appears to have been a fight in one area, because many of the freight containers are knocked over, and a few are stained with blood and bear the signs of claw marks. The end of the dock is free of any shipping vessels, and the ocean beyond seems ominous. The water goes down about twenty feet before the soft barrier of the Fight Area.

Stipulation: One person on Team A will be transformed into a ‘Zamber’ (details to come). Obviously to keep things balanced, one person on Team B must be transformed into a ‘Remiliapire’ (details to come).

Ahana is now a Remiliapire and has access to Remilia Scarlet’s move set (https://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php...5#pid18145)
Ok Dongja is now a Zamber and has access to Amber’s move set (https://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php...0#pid56160)

I shiver, look down at my shaking hands, and try to convince myself that the icy chill alone is responsible for my inability to hold them steady.

“Are you alright?” Larva flutters round to hover before me, resting her small hands on my shoulders. I see the concern in her expression, but despite Karl Jak’s damning words, she doesn’t seem frightened of me, only for me.

Looking at her, my gaze is drawn irresistibly towards her bare neck. I can’t be sure if it’s just my imagination or some new sense, but I’m convinced that I can hear the blood pumping through her veins. That I can smell it. Taste it, almost. My mouth waters.

I lean forwards slightly, before realising what I’m doing and jerking back, out of her grip. She looks a little hurt by this rejection of her kindness. It can’t be helped, though; I could turn on her at any moment if I don’t keep myself at a distance.

“I’m fine.” I force the words out, tone hoarse, as I turn away, “Just… give me a minute, I-”

I scream, suddenly, my body convulsing. I grab the street lamp which I’d steadied myself against before, hunching over as I feel the muscles in my back bulging, twisting, then shredding and tearing themselves apart at the behest of this horrific curse placed upon me.

Something wrenches itself free from under my skin in a small shower of blood, and I give a choked sob, my legs almost giving out. I can feel them, then, on my back, and by some instinct I know immediately what they are. I now have wings. If not for the fact that I’m not-so-slowly transforming into an inhuman abomination, those might actually be kinda cool.

Even more so if the indescribable agony was also omitted. Breathing in deep gulps of air, I try my hardest to compose myself.

And then she’s beside me again, within easy reach of my fangs. I almost lunge at her, but manage to wrestle the impulse down at the last moment. She doesn’t say anything, simply laying a hand on my shoulder again, to let me know she’s here for me.

“Hahaha! Having trouble adapting to Karl’s little curse, are we?” the smug, condescending voice comes from on high. We look up. A short woman dressed in black and white, sitting side-saddle on a hovering broomstick, smirks down at us. She glances back over her shoulder, “Yes, over here, Dongja.”

With a bestial cry, an animal-like boy in green robes leaps over one of the large containers that litter these docks, landing just a few metres from us. In one hand he clutches a massive sword, in the other, a quarterstaff of sorts. He growls.

“Oh, no...” for a moment, I think my partner is afraid of the savage kid, but when I turn, I see she’s still gazing up at the woman, “Marisa.”

Larva shakes her head, then speaks again, her words barely above a whisper, “I can’t beat her.”

“Then just stay behind me. I’ll fight them both.” I step in front of her, arms outstretched protectively. In this round more than any other, I can’t afford to let her be harmed… if she should end up cut and bloodied, I may well not even manage to keep myself from killing her, never mind the other two. I can’t allow that to happen, no matter what.

The woman laughs again, pulling something small out of her dress as her broom sinks, so that she now floats by her partner’s side, just a few feet off the ground. She doesn’t seem fazed in the slightest by his monstrous form, “You clearly don’t realise who you’re up against. What do you say we show her, partner?”

“Yeah... hwa!” dropping his sword, a small orb of flame forms in the boy’s right hand.

“Love-Sign Mini Spark!” pointing her little icon my way, a rainbow beam of shining light bursts forth, just a moment after Dongja tosses his fire. The two strike me almost simultaneously, and my world vanishes in a kaleidoscope of colour and pain.

I cry out as I’m sent flying, and slam into the side of a metal box. I crumple to the ground. Just before the conflagrations enveloping me vanish entirely, I notice that my beautiful, golden flames have changed; the Protections now shine with a sickly, off-white radiance… much like the colour of bone.

My skin is seared red raw. Pushing my hurts aside, though, I force myself back to my feet, groaning. These two may not yet have displayed the awe-inspiring speed of our first foes, but they certainly pack more of a punch. Unleashing a widely spread burst of scales just to stall them for a moment, Larva darts back over to my side.

I sink into a fighting stance, ready to launch myself at them if either of our enemies should try to close the distance.

“Ahana-” the sprite says softly.

“This is nothing.” I hiss back, interrupting her, my tone fierce, “I will keep them off you. I promise.”

"RAAAAGHHH" Dongja screamed after casting the spell. Whatever Karl Jak did to him, it was tearing him up from the inside. The spirits who granted him calligraphy magic were confused on whether to lend their power to him or to the beast taking over. The boy snarled as his face tingled with the pain of rawness. His green robes were suddenly overridden by rotting flesh, which turned half of his frame into a lumpy monstrosity. His hair had turned a little red, and was now interrupted by two reddish cat ears, both rotting at the tip. His eyes, normally a dull brown, glowed a violent red.

Eat.

"I blame you for this, you know," the sorcerer mumbled.

Yeo-Ee-Pil was silent. Dongja picked up the sword that had appeared completely out of nowhere earlier. Comes with the zombie animal package, he supposed. As he gripped it, the sword suddenly clicked. The blade swiveled as it spun, leaving the other side up. Dongja blinked the rot out of his eyes as he shrugged.

"Cool," he said, readying the sword as the orange-robed woman walked towards him.

Instinctively, the rotten side of Dongja's body raised the sword and a loud crack knocked his opponent back. The woman grimaced but seemed to shrug it off. Dongja grit his teeth and pulled the trigger again, missing this time. The woman raised her hands, summoning two bolts of golden-red light. She threw both at Dongja, who jumped into a horizontal spin to dodge them. The fanged woman formed another spear, this time the color of fresh blood. Dongja felt a feral spirit in his arms fidget in anticipation.

I'm starving. Taste their flesh.

"That's enough," he snarled, his voice overlapping with the voice of the furious woman who was sharing his body, "Ani-GAHHHHHR-Animal Instinct."

Dongja roared as his newly pointed teeth suddenly became jagged fangs as long as machetes. His cheeks became covered in fur as a stony, rotting hide crawled over his back, bristling with orange clumps of hair. His nose protruded into that of a large cat.

Marisa watched in fascination as her ally became part-magician, part-zombie, and now part-leopard.

Dongja didn't even see the spear pass him. His body had dodged it. His face contorted in his wild fury. He cackled, a sound he never really made before. Yeo-Ee-Pil suddenly and wordlessly coiled around his waist. Ahana formed another glowing spear in response.

"Soo!" he snarled, dashing forwards towards the woman. Behind him, a large gray arm with sharp talons surged skyward. Its thumb had rotted off, but it was still absolutely gigantic. It surged forward and smashed Ahana.

The vampire felt the hand collapse on top of her, but she had kept her spear pointed up. Dongja ignored the stabbing pain in his palm as blood and pus poured from it, instead closing the distance more. His new giant sword clashed against Ahana's spear, snapping the fiery weapon in half.

Now eat her. Tear at her skin.

Dongja screamed, "Lahb!" He felt the spirits terrified of the abomination he had become, and he felt them drag Ahana towards him. The flames that had wreathed her shoulders extinguished as she lurched forward. Through the bloodlust, Dongja realized he had no idea where Marisa-

FEED ME.

"CHI!" Dongja wept, and his jaw became spinning rows of jagged shards of bone, mixed between shark and leopard teeth. This nightmarish blender of a mouth suddenly clamped on Ahana as Dongja's fingers shot out knife-like claws. He gripped into her body as he tried to shred her. Dongja awaited the feeling of flesh and blood to stop the pangs in his stomach-

There was no blood.

Dongja paused in confusion before the golden flames wreathing Ahana's wounds became a brilliant red flash. It threw Dongja's horrifying form backwards into the night. Dongja, landing hard on his feet, threw sparks into the air as his claws raked against the ground. His body surged forward. Dongja knew not which vicious weapon he was striking with.

He needed to feed.

A spear stab.

In the gut.

Gut.

His gut.

Blood.

His blood.

Claws rip.

Her blood.
No.

No blood.

FEED.

Dongja pinned Ahana to the floor as his mind came to focus. Ahana began-no-begins repeatedly stabbing Dongja with her spear. She's hurt. Not too much. FEED – no – FEED

A spell comes to mind.

"RRAAAAAGGHGHHH!" Dongja wept-weeps as he held-holds his palm over Ahana's face, lightning licking at his fingers. Dongja can't even say the incantation. Pitiful. EAT.

"CH-" the monster says, before changing his mind. He bares his teeth and viciously rips into Ahana.

A handful of hardened wing scales thud against Dongja, bouncing off fairly harmlessly. The monster snarls as he felt the dull taps. He roars up at the butterfly girl.

"Oh no,” she mumbles.

"SUK!" Dongja replies.

A boulder spawns behind Dongja's back. The sorcerer kicks backwards, sending the boulder and probably the butterfly fairy flying. Dongja finds he doesn't care.

Too small. Scrawny.

Hungry.

Spear woman is fine.

Feed.

"HUNGRY..." he snarls.

In the back of his mind, Dongja weeps at what he's become.

The serene, cold atmosphere of the night was offset by a burst of warm blood. Red fluid flew across the docks, coloring the ground with a sickly splat.

While the two fighters clashed in a fight of spears and teeth, Larva circled them cautiously. Her eyes watched for a good angle to strike. As much as the fairy understood Ahana, she can’t just stand by and watch her teammate get battered. Larva needed her partner to defend her.

Especially against Marisa.

An opportunity presented itself. The fairy was right behind the berserking calligrapher. Settling on the cold floor, the sound of beating wings was replaced by the hum of flowing magical force. With that all too familiar buzz, a volley of verdant green barreled towards the cursed enemy.

Two of the bullets found their target. The rotten flesh held surprisingly well for its looks, but the blow still made a notable mark. Even then, he seemed to brush it off.

The fairy readied her wings for another strike. However, she stopped as her eyes met Ok’s haunting, feral gaze. In that moment, Larva fully recognized the seemingly murderous intent, like a predator hunting for prey.

He shouted a word. Behind him, a rock had appeared out of nowhere. Next second, the boulder was flying straight at the fairy. Thankfully, her reflexes kicked in. Colorful wings carried her up and away. She heard a loud clang as the heavy stone punched through metal. That was close...

...

Wait a minute. She hasn’t seen Marisa for a while. Where did she-

Boom!

It took a short moment for her mind to register what happened. The abrupt burning pain on her back, and the fact that she was now hurtling across the field. Her wings, though singed, managed to right her before landing. The assault was relentless. Before she could muster a counterattack, a broom smacked her straight onto a hard metal container. The resounding crash could be heard throughout the docks.

The blows were agonizing, unlike the last match. Before, she only had to endure the dull ache of stress and fatigue. This time, the pain was so sharp, so... intense. The fairy had to hold back the tears welling in her eyes. It was too much. She tried willing herself up, but the protest of her body made her collapse to her knees.

“Well, well! Look who we have here!” a slightly rough, yet still feminine voice spoke.

Shoes as black as night clacked along the ground. Of all the people to fight against, why her?! A moonlight shadow looming over, the hurt fairy looked up to see the one person she dreaded having to fight.

“You’re one of those fairies from the incident a while back, right? Didn’t expect to see ya here.”

Ignoring her voice, the fairy gazed at the familiar opponent in front of her. Marisa Kirisame. The “ordinary magician”, as some call her. Despite the title, her firepower is anything but ordinary. Larva knew that from experience, even if it was only a friendly danmaku battle. She really hoped to redeem herself this time around... but against her? In a no-holds-barred fight? It’s impossible. A total defeat.

“Wish we could talk a bit more, but this is a fight I can’t afford to lose.”

The device in the Marisa’s hands began to radiate with light and warmth. This was the signature light magic that she wielded. If the butterfly fairy doesn’t do anything now, she would be scorched with its true power.

So she’ll do something.

Her face now slightly more determined than pained, Larva had been gathering the stamina to escape from this bad situation. Now it was time to let it all out. Subtly, her wings and body took stance.

The magician chanted her spell. “Love Sign...”

Now!

“Mini-"

The devious fairy charged forwards, slamming into Marisa.

The other way around!

The black-and-white magician staggered backwards. Not by much, but definitely enough to give Larva her escape. The fairy turned around and fluttered away with all her strength, quickly growing the distance between them.

“That damn fairy…” She took aim again. “Mini-"

Once again, her spell was interrupted. Now, she noticed the stabbing pain on her left arm. With it, blood. And the offending spear that clattered to the ground. For now, the screams heard across the dock were not of Larva’s, but Marisa’s.

The fairy looked down to see her partner who made the sacrifice. She was still having trouble with that pesky zombie teammate of Marisa’s. Now to return the favor. she pulled out a spellcard in her hand and, in urgency, failed to recite the name again! But there’s no time for fancy invocations in this match.

Energetic shards barreled towards Ok Dongja.

The monster that was once Dongja snarls loudly as the colorful bullets tickle it. It shrieks as they rain blindness and confusion. Bright lights bounce off of his rotting but rocky carapace. The monster's belt starts ringing and glows brightly.

"Bang-Pae," shrieks a voice that is not the monster's.

A wall appears on the monster's front leg. The monster would wonder if it could always do this if it had room in its mind for more than the one unbearable thought of crushing hunger. The majority of the bullets trickle harmlessly against the large board. The monster is satisfied. It looks to see where its food had run off. The spear comes from somewhere. The monster dodges it quickly and sees the food crawling away.

Nearly there.

The monster charges forward, its back still stinging from the barrage. Its vicious scimitar-like claws are smaller than its rippling, decomposing leg muscles. Roaring loudly, the monster slobbers from its jaws as it runs.

The bloodless, fanged food rolls to her side and flings another bolt of light. The monster leaps over it, a small line of fire burning beneath it. Landing hard on the concrete, the monster snarls loudly before it lunges. The food grunts as she tries to stick another spear inside the monster, but the beast dodges that blazing bolt easily as well with a feral combat roll.

The small food rushes forward, but the friend one intercepts her with a shower of small, whizzing fires. The beast decides to ignore it and continues to charge forward.

The monster tears into the food again, then feels something hot enter its neck. Choking on its own blood, the beast retreats slightly, giving the food room to roll backwards and prepare another attack. The spear otherwise does little to deter the monster, and only infuriates it.

Too hungry for pain.

The beast coughs, spraying clumps of coagulating blood onto the docks. It howls, very confused.

Why is food still alive?

FEED.

The monster rakes the stone docks with its claws before roaring again. It has fully become a panther now, its hide riddled with stiff, gray flesh and the fur on its neck matted with blood. But the blood pours less now. The monster doesn't comprehend this.

"RRRRROOOOOOO"

The incantation translates somehow, and an enormous rotting panther paw erupts from the ground behind the monster. The paw slams into the food, and the beast hears a crack.

The crackle of bones.

Delicious.

"NRRRRRHHHSSSS"

The beast seems to cackle and the food pants in panic. Its maw opens wide, once more revealing a horrifying cyclone of razor-sharp fangs.

A small globe of light flies through, illuminating it before the beast shuts its mouth in panic.

The panther-like creature snarls and retreats again, trying to understand what it just ate.

Not food.

Fire.

Fire is not food.

The panther coughs and scratches at its eyes. Something about that really bothered him.

Him?

The beast roars.

Not yet.

The corrupted monster opens its maw again, but the foods must have learned. This time, the monster is too slow to dodge another streak of flames, which jam into his spinning teeth. The panther shivers.

The bloodless food leaps herself, weakened and desperate. She bites into the monster. The monster doesn't feel pain but feels the closest thing to it: weakness. The weakness ripples through his body as something within him becomes empty. Enough time passes that the beast's shattered mind forms something.

"HHHHHOOOOOONNNNN"

A gust of wind launches forward, throwing the bloodless food backward. The food lands on her feet, sliding slightly.

The food opens its mouth and roars, "NNNNRRRAAAAAHHHNNN"

As the beast charges for a few seconds, a storm's worth of lightning crackles forward, reaching forward hungrily to find its target. The bloodless woman shrieks, then barks strange sounds at the flying food. The flying food moves down, but the beast looks at her and the small one is not fast enough to move out of the way.

The lightning fades, and the beast shook-shakes its head. Its mind started healing as the food-Ahana draws another spear.

No.

I'm still hungry.

FEEEED

The panther roars again, and there is only now again. It catches the burning spear out of the air, but it only scorches the beast's mouth, dissipates.

FEEEEED-

"Shut the hell up," the panther mumbles with some difficulty, as its bones snap back and forth, fighting themselves on the correct configuration of the body.

RRRRRAAAAARRGH

The spinning teeth loses layers until it is one. The teeth became flat, and the ears shrink. Shrunk. Shrink.

The past tense returned to Dongja as his mind does. Dongja looked at the rippling, rotting paws that were once his hands. There was still feral strength in his arms, the form not completely going away. As he felt his strength fade, he focused his mind and pointed a paw at the fairy bothering Marisa.

Eternity Larva thought to herself, "Why's he looking at me?"

Dongja thought to himself, "I'm gonna shoot her right in the face."

"Bawl-Sah!" Dongja shouted, and a bolt of light crackled forward from his paws.

My breaths are laboured. The left side of my chest has caved in, and I’m sure I've punctured a lung. Much of my flesh is torn and ragged. I may not bleed, but even so, I know that I’m dying. In my rabid frenzy, however, I care nothing for such details. I hiss at the vile lump. The taste of its putrid, rotting blood still fouls my mouth.

It ignores me entirely, looking up instead. I follow its gaze, and see Larva & Marisa locked in an aerial duel. For a tiny moment, some forgotten part of me stirs, cheering the little fairy on as she conquers her fear and fights her foe. That thought vanishes almost the instant it arrives, as a powerful pang of hunger tears through my gut. Larva looks delicious.

The two fliers pause, glancing down at Dongja as he raises a hand. Although I have no clue what he’s about to do, I’m sure it isn’t anything good. Without thinking, I leap forwards and bat my wings, taking to the air.

Bawl-Sah!” the monster roars, as I spin to face him, thrusting myself into the path of his shot, despite not understanding why I’m doing so.

Bahaal!” bone-white fire rushes outwards from my body. I can’t see, but I do hear it when his magic clashes with mine, producing a crack like the world itself breaking open.

The searing pain of my wounds swiftly vanishes as the Restorations rebuild my ruined body. Ordinarily it would feel refreshing. In this form, it’s more like being doused in ice water. I shiver. The flames vanish, and I cast an appraising eye over myself. My skin is still unhealthily pale, but I’m whole and unbloodied once more.

My clothes are unaffected by the healing magic, of course, and so remain tattered rags which leave little to the imagination. Dimly, it occurs to me that I should be embarrassed by this, though I can’t quite remember why. I doubt it matters, though. Blood is what matters. Blood is all that matters.

Hardly sparing a glance for the rotting boy below, I swirl to face my partner. I recognise the expression on her face. Gratitude. She opens her mouth to speak. I lunge. She looks shocked now, but manages to raise her arms in time. She catches my wrists, screams my name as she struggles to hold me back.

I want blood. I need blood. Real blood, not that vile ichor that runs through Dongja’s veins.

I catch a glimpse of something behind her, and for some reason, I feel the need to get Larva out of the way. To... keep her safe? Without knowing why I’m doing it, I spin us around and kick her in the chest hard enough to knock her back a couple metres. A moment later, a glass bottle shatters against my back and I shriek as its contents detonate, scorching my skin and throwing me forwards.

I want blood. But... I have this strange urge to protect the butterfly child. I just can’t remember why I want to. Not her blood, then. Other blood. I turn and dash up towards the blonde.

The broom-rider just smiles. Sitting there smugly, letting me come.

She must have some trick up her sleeve. It’s obvious.

So I halt. She doubtless thinks I’m just a mindless animal. But actually, my curse has bestowed me with a few new belongings. I can use tools too. I pull one of them out from beneath my sash and hold it out towards the witch. Is it just my imagination, or do her eyes glint greedily at the sight of it?

“Spell Card of Destiny,” I intone, my voice strangely soft and sibilant in this feral form. Oddly, I get the impression that Marisa already knows what the card is, without having to be told, “Miserable Fate!

Enormous chains of red light burst into existence and her broom bolts forwards, rapidly zigging and zagging between my projectiles. She cries out when one of them crashes into her, badly bashing her left arm, which falls limp at her side. I feel a gust of wind as she speeds past me.

My wings flap furiously as I turn to face her again. She’s stopped moving. She grins at me, holding something up between two fingers. A little piece of card. I realise that my own hand is empty. I groan quietly.

From somewhere below, I hear the loud retort of Dongja’s weapon firing multiple times, and Eternity cries out. For some reason, I feel a sudden twinge of fear for her.

Marisa pays the others no heed, “Now, what was that spell called again? Miserable Fate?

My own chains burst forth from the stolen card, racing treacherously towards me in great, curving arcs. I’m not like Marisa, though. I’m not a frail little thing who needs to weave and dodge between attacks. I roar, then pound the air with my wings and dart forwards, straight at her, desperate to sink my fangs into her neck, ignoring the chains completely.

This is going to hurt.

Aesthetics Note
I should have mentioned this in the previous post, but forgot: Ahana now has a pair of bat wings like Remilia’s (see their roster for pictures), and her fire magic is now off-white in colour, rather than gold.
These changes are purely aesthetic in nature and do not in any way make her more effective in combat.

As Marisa saw the vampiric prime raced after her and somewhere in the back of her mind she felt scared as they rammed through the spell card with abandon. Thinking about it Flandre was fairly similar though instead of trying to sink their pearly whites into the incident resolvers neck; she “played” with them. Marisa tossed the card to the side and it burned up into flames much like a witch on a pyre.

She then felt two cold dead hands touch her as her eyes widened fear visibly shown. Searching for anything to stop the inevitable curse she felt the glassy surface of her explosives before guttural screaming as the teeth entered her neck and crimson liquid started to flow as Ahana started to drink hungrily as if they were going to die of thirst.

The magus grabbed the lagomorph-esk person’s head as they started to rip the parasites teeth out of their neck. “Get off me you parasite!” Marisa felt the vampire yield before kicking them in their midsection causing them to rocket backward a good few feet growling in anger and hunger as they licked there lips of any red ichor that may have been left behind.

The witch, on the other hand, was glaring with fury at the curse this person had just given her; before looking at Eternity remembering just how protective this person seemed of the fairy. Marisa slipped off her broom before causing the stone to clack under her black shoes before pulling out her Mini-Hakkero before aiming it at the fairy causing Ahana to be forced into a position where she wants to continue to feed on her prey.

“Come and get me you oversized parasite!” Marisa screamed a magical furnace started to roar to life as the mini-spark flew at the fairy who understood that sound and was hit by it causing her to smoke and crash once the kaleidoscope of heat and light petered out and Marisa was hit with the cost of such a powerful attack of her making causing her to move sluggishly in her exhaustion for a few seconds; more than enough to let the bunny-eared prime to close the gap hungry and eager to drink this person of there crimson ichor in full.

The witch was barely able to dodge the incoming New Babylonian's onslaught Marisa back peddled and started to dig for one of her flasks her mind running on fear as she had not come into this knowing she would get bit by a vampire of all things. This had chilled her to the bone but she had to keep on fighting as the prospect of death was still very real and very terrifying and it showed on her face as she was acting almost like a coward.

She pulled the glass out and stopped moving backward when an idea formed in her mind that was almost so crazy that it could work and it caused her to rush forward. "DONGJA HELP ME WITH TAKING HER DOWN!" She yelled at the ally who turned his head and gave a curt nod as he rushed to help the frail witch also. the two converging primes soon reached the vampire who hissed at Dongja and his putrid puss fused blood but was soon wrestled to the ground by both primes much to the horror of Eternity who tried to get anyone to pay attention and fight her.

The witch forced the vampire's mouth open much to Ahana's displeasure at the sight of Marisa's anger filled face who even if she was hit by eternity's scales would ignore the pain with her eyes showing a touch of madness. The ordinary magician forced the explosive into her throat before slamming the mouth shut causing the explosive to detonate inside her body with a giggle from the witch. "Now wasn't that an explosive revelation?"

Ahana gave a look of minor pain but could tell she was annoyed at her prey was struggling against her inevitable fate which caused her to hiss at the witch. "Why do you struggle? Why not just lay down and let it happen?" her voice was clearly interested before she spoke once more, her voice soft and seemingly inviting with a spell card formed in her left hand. "Certain kill heart break". A red spear formed as bone white fires tinted with red lined its magical form before being extinguished. Marisa's eyes widened as she had a nagging feeling this was going to turn from bad to worse at the sight of that spear.

"Well considering I've worked all my life to get stronger and I won't be halted!" Marisa threw the broom into the air as she jumped and landed with a leg on each side of the broom, then started to zip around much like a Japanese fighter at Pearl Harbor. Marisa angrily thought about the situation at hand. "Screw trying to fight the fairy this vampire needs to die!" And thus filled Ahana's vision colors, and sounds. "Go back to hell!" She roared with her voice cracking slightly at the Vampire.

"While shooting concentrate your mind, gently muttering the spell to the Mini-Hakkero. Aiming at someone you don't like, a magicannon of love will be unleashed!"

The night sky was illuminated by the glow of scarlet magic. Larva watched on, her face showing an expression of slight awe. Behind that face, however, was a curious mind. She had realized something. This… wasn’t the same kind of magic her partner used before. Rather, it was something familiar in the fairy’s world. If Ahana really was a youkai, she would have sensed it sooner or later…

…at least, that’s what she knew. Maybe there was something more to this curse than the voice revealed.

No time for stray thoughts, though. Her gaze reverted to the opponent in front of her: the beast—no, the calligrapher—who had seemingly come back to his senses. And… a ball of fire?

Butterfly wings carried the fairy away from danger, wind blowing around her. Apparently, she didn’t even hear the warning of him invoking a spell. Darn it, she’s getting distracted like a fairy again. Focus, focus!

As a silhouette in the starry night, Larva returned the shot with a drizzle of emerald bullets from above. All Dongja managed to do was move a bit—not enough— before guarding himself from the incoming volley. Two scales found their target, magical force pulsing against the fairy’s adversary. Success!

…wait a second.

She had hoped that, this time, her attack would have done more damage. This was from experience back in her world. A spell card challenge is a surge of power, always making the challenger better in every way. This meant even in taking on hits. Whatever happened to him before surely felt like that. But, it seemed that things are different in this place.

He resisted even better than the last time she struck him…

With that, a slight fear came to her. What now? Is she really going to have to fight people with this kind of power? She knew that maybe she can get around and whittle her enemy down… but outwitting your opponent will only take you so far. She readied for a barrage of bullets.

Diving downwards, Larva unleashed one volley; the first one. A symbol, one the fairy understood as “wind”, appeared in front of Dongja. She swerved away, letting scales clash against the sudden gust. In that time, she managed to get a glance of the… strange weapon that her enemy wielded at the start. Another volley—

The sound of gunfire rang through the air.

Before she knew it, her body was wracked with pain. Pulling away a hand she didn’t even know covered her wound, she found it stained with red, red blood.

This is bad.

After a painful hesitation, she raced around the field, in the hopes of being too fast to hit. Bullets were whizzing by. The enemy wasn’t so conservative after having found a really good way to put the fairy down. However, the shots seemed to halt as his newfound weapon ran out of bullets. A chance!

Another volley, the second one!

They struck their target again. One of many to come. That is, if she wanted to win this skirmish. However, the two were interrupted by a shouting from across the docks. The voice called out Dongja.

Help me with taking her down!

At once, the magician’s teammate shifted his focus from Larva and onto Ahana. He settled atop one of those metal boxes and began shooting down the fairy’s partner.

This is really bad.

Not wanting to be excluded from the fight, she fought fire with fire and prepared to take aim at Marisa. The fairy recalled something.

She felt that Ahana’s strikes were actually on par with hers. Images of the last fight came to mind; how scales and spears managed to injure their opponents. Given that this world seemed to work contrary to what she expects…

A third volley was fired, this time at the black and white magician. Amidst the chaos, she had little time to react. Her speed almost saved her. But one still managed to hit. And that was all the clever fairy needed.

Marisa tried to shrug off the pain, but the blood that leaked from the blow told Larva everything.
The fairy smiled.

Marisa wasn’t as strong as she used to be.

She might still have a chance to salvage this fight. Settling for a mere moment, she still felt some fighting energy left in her. With that, she conjured a card in her hands.

One more time.

Instead of chanting her spell’s name, the fairy said something else. “It’s time for a midsummer war!” she exclaimed fervently, readying her wings for the attack.

The card vanished into the cold night air.

This time, scales were headed against the once-formidable magician.

As Marisa heard the butterfly fairy speak she could hear the scales start to fly at her, causing the already raging witch to face the scales head-on; with an icy glare that could even cause the most steel hearted youkai and humans to hesitate in her gaze back home. “FUCK OFF YOU STUPID FAIRY!” And with that insult tossed at the small butterfly fairy she started to dodge while firing upon them with the scales making it difficult to aim but in the background, a confused and in a blood frenzy prime fought with themselves to keep their mind off of attacking the bloodied wound that her ally gained.

In the end, they managed to barely keep their mind on the witch once again but was soon interrupted by a certain calligrapher’s gun who caused them to turn on their heel and snarl. And soon the two primes were engaged in a close-quarters dual for supremacy over the other and would be the major deciding factor on who won or even survived this incredibly bloody engagement.

Soon the two other primes were circling around the other breathing heavily. Marisa with her clacking shoes and larva with the patter of bare feet. "I was going to leave you alive you know that right? But since you interrupted my Murdering of her I'm going to make your last living moments absolutely brutal. The witch could feel the sting and pain of the many wounds and knew she didn't have much more time before she just dropped dead. "So let's just hurry this up then shall we?" Her grin cold and calculating as the two orbs fired every so often to test the waters and to keep Eternity on her feet.

"Well let's just say the only time a fairy gave me real trouble was Cirno and Clownpiece. Honestly, that ice fairy could have pushed me to go all out and I could have even lost then; so because of that I can't and won't falter against another fairy, just think of it like a special treatment alright? Hey, I'll even give you some sweets if you go backstab your ally." Marisa knew fairies weren't always extremely intelligent and could be swayed with things like sweets and materialistic items.

The metamorphic fairy actually shook her head at this offer causing the witch to frown. "Don't come crying to me asking not to get killed when I gave you an out. As if waiting for the decline of the ordinary witch's offer Danmaku was flung causing the fairy to gasp and with eyes wide to start to dodge poorly for the first few seconds feeling the magical energy slam into her with murderous intent.

As the witch chased after the fairy she soon had lost the fairy and was breathing hard. She soon looked at her feet to find a can with red and white, picking up the cool, and metallic surface she looked at the title and saw coca cola. opening the tab on the lip she heard the sound of the bubbly beverage. As she started to drink the cool, refreshing can of coca cola she felt her self-become energized from the sugary drink. "Coca-cola is actually pretty good. Might have to get some more after this fight."

Soon she was hit by a few scales causing her to drop the half-filled can. Marisa raised her magical furnace at the fairy and started to charge while letting the scales hit her shoulders and arms causing them to start to bleed. Soon the multicolored light show fired from the trigram burning and causing the stone on the ground to scorch and even somewhat evaporate under the heat.

Eternity larva's eyes widened once again at the sight of the spark only to barely get burned by the laser. Walking over to the fallen fairy Marisa picked her up and looked her straight in the eye before climbing on her broom and flying off to the others. It took at most thirty seconds but it could be seen that Dongja was somewhat struggling against the clearly more durable prime. while both primes were unaware of the magus and the fairy's presence, Marisa started to dive bomb with eternity as the payload hoping that would take the fairy out of commission for good for a fairy of course.

A loud crash was heard as Eternity slammed to the ground once more crying out in pain. Ahana looked to see what was the source of the pain and saw Marisa sitting on eternities body with her legs holding down the fairies arms and a Mini Hakkero aimed directly at the face. "You had an out you stupid fairy, you just chose not to take it." in a burst of strength Ahana, broke free of the calligrapher and crashed into the witch causing her to be burned mostly. Marisa crashed into the ground the mini spark flying everywhere before getting up and extinguishing the dangerous light magic.

"Fuck you, and Lovesign Master Spark" and the laser came at the two primes raging for sustenance.

Face to Face
#08 Ahana Varma & #39 Eternity Larva vs #15 Ok Dongja & #03 Marisa Kirisame

The fight at the docks had devolved into something with little honor.

The rainbow beam screamed through the night.  Ahana, her feral eyes glinting with rage, took a last look at her companion before stepping forward to intercept the attack.  An already durable body imbued with yet more terrible might by the lovely folks at Syntech, the woman stood her ground as her companion slinked into the shadows.

With a grin, Ahana felt her legs wobble.  Dongja was in the corner of her eyes, creeping toward where Larva had made her escape.  Taxed to the limit, the undead-afflicted warrior managed to hurtle a javelin at the side of the other monster, stopping him in his tracks.

A moment later, Ahana blacked out as the beam sent her crashing through a pair of cargo crates.

Marisa sneered as she lowered her arms and started toward her ally.

“All done here,” she muttered.

“Not… quite,” a voice whispered from up above.  The witch glanced around until she saw some dust falling from a stack of metal containers to her left.  A little green fairy, running off of little more than adrenaline, flew back once more and slammed her body into the crate.  A  beat later, the entire stack teetered over onto the pair of primes on the other side.

The witch and the zombie tried to escape, but the two of them vanished beneath the avalanche of containers.

Eternity, her arms hanging low and her wings fluttering weakly, could only offer a faint smile as the teleportation swirls plucked her out of the air.
