Altering Primes?
#1
So I was wanting to submit an NPC Prime that would basically be an amorphous doppleganger that ends up fixating on Strazio and attempts to mimic him. My idea to make this character a bit less one dimensional was to have them originally be a normal human prime that ends up getting captured by a mad scientist that wants to experiment on primes. This scientist eventually destabilizes the prime so much that he turns into a semi-intelligent blob of shape-changing goo. The scientist wants to create the "perfect" prime and ideally wants to create a shapeshifter that can mimic other primes. To test his new creation he feeds the blob a constant video feed playing back Strazio's battles in the Colosseum and Dante's Abyss. The blob ends up mimicking Strazio right down to his sour temper and ends up busting out into the Omniverse at large.

I guess what I'm asking is, is it within the realm of possibilities for a prime to even be altered in such a drastic and fundamental way?

Sure. Why wouldn't it be? In fact, there's a Coruscant Quest Line which is specifically about experimenting on Primes.

Yeah but that seems a bit more mundane than completely changing the fundamental identity of a prime, especially when the change is unwilling. I know the Chaos Emerald artefact does something similar, but that is also a self-imposed change. I just want to make sure that it's okay lore-wise for something that drastic to happen to an unwilling prime.

I mean, you can justify anything IC with OOC reasoning. If you decided Straz was gonna spend 2 years in a concentration camp, it'd certainly be something HE wouldn't want. And since this NPC is technically your character, do your thing man.

Pretty cool and unique idea but I can't see anything wrong that would break rules. Then again, I'm not a really strict on ideas popping up lol.
