Another City, Another trip
#1
The human terminator sighed as he looked at the artifact one last time, he figured someone should hold onto it until they made it to Coruscant and the new place.

The Quinjet was eerily quiet and awkward until Marcus eyed Moon Knight and the leader of the Avengers stared back, looking out at a window.

“So, Marcus, you think you can lead us into Coruscant?”

The terminator sighed and crossed his arms “Coruscant? Talk about a long time since I’ve been there last. Also, the first time Skynet entered the Omniverse.”

He could feel his hands ball into a fist as he bit his tongue “So much shit to worry about.”

Marcus’s cold frown on his face turned, pointing at a portal leading out of the Vasty Deep. “Coruscant's portal is nearby.”

He pointed to a Omniverse map and nodded.

“I’ve been there before.”

It was then the giant metal jet passed through the Vasty deeps portal as the familiar site of the the buildings made many of the Avengers turn toward the city below.

All might bent down and pointed down at the crowd of stormtroopers around two primes.

“There might be a problem below.”

Moon Knight turned and looked out the front

“What’s going on, All might?”

Ratione and his partner looked below and answered “Either two primes got on the wrong side of the empire or vise versa.”

Marcus pushed his way to the back of the plane as he gritted his teeth.

Blair sighed, looking a bit annoyed. “This might interfere with the landing plans.” She turned to Frenchie “We’ll have to plan another landing route unless we want stormtroopers on us just for being in the area.”

Frenchie kept eying the situation outside.

“Deux nombres premiers sont entourés ci-dessous et les stormtroopers grouillent comme une meute d'abeilles.”

Blair sighed “English please, Frenchie.”

Frenchie took a breath and nodded “What i meant to say is we have a complicated landing pattern. Marc, we will take care of the Quinjet.”

Moon Knight nodded and issued commands “Alright, Avengers. We cannot do this lightly, and we might run into a hostile situation here. Don’t engage the stormtroopers unless they threaten you.

The calmer of the Avengers looked out the window again and sighed, taking a deep breath “From closer view, these two appear to be attacked by citizens but white stormtroopers seem to be investigating the situation.

Marcus eyed the other, frowning "These two didn't do anything, would the stormtroopers listen to reason?" “Didn’t we just stop a prison riot? The stormtroopers should be thanking us personally for helping them.

Moon Knight turned and sighed “Easy, Marcus. Not every stormtrooper is going to know the Avengers did things for them when things go right.”

Marcus crossed his arms, raising a eyebrow “Not every stormtrooper I met seemed to like me in the first place when I made it to Coruscant, even though Skynet planted itself in a local arcade.”

Marcus placed a hand against the jet's interior "In fact, I know Skynet is loving the fact it's swimming at the bottom of the ocean." He squeezed his forehead and sighed "Let's just agree to disagree, Moon Knight. Our first experiences with stormtroopers don't always match up to what we did for these guys.

Marc looked up at Marcus and placed a hand on his shoulder “We are the Avengers, we had our share of disappointments and achievements. You of all, should know this, Marcus.

The terminator man nods, eyeing Marc with his arms crossed “I love Sentimental talks, Moon Knight, but let’s focus on the mission at hand. Perhaps there’s time to talk later.

He sighed and his fist balled up a bit “Or that would be what Captain America would say in all of this.”

He’d be disappointed he lost Captain America’s most prized possession, the shield to Hydra of all people.

Marcus turned to Marc, seeing how disappointed he looked, a dramatic wind blowing through each of their hair “We’ll get that shield back, I promise.”
Just then a brief shadow of the Avengers showed up, memories of the past, present and future to come.

Dick payed little attention to the other Avengers, at least initially. He looked outside and watched as they soared past the island, and watched the birds and ocean as they flew. It was a somber day for their team, that was for sure. They had had their home burned down-the worst offence possible. It had happened to him, now it happened to a whole team. Though he had never lived there, he felt for them. He was angry for them. But he had to let it go. And, he knew, they did too.

Dick looked up just before they entered the gate, checking each member of the team. Marcus still seemed shaken, but other than that they were all mostly fine. Moon Knight and Marcus got into a small argument then-about a group of "stormtroopers" on the ground below. Looking down, Dick was taken aback by the city. It was beautiful, like something out of a sci-fi novel. High rises with blinking lights, robots and aliens walking on the ground, and flying cars going all over the city. And it was a vast city- there was no apparent end. There were almost certainly drawbacks to it. But for now, Howland was okay with admiring its many apparent benefits.

"Halt. Land down at the nearest imperial checkpoint for interrogation. You are flying an unauthorised and unregistered vehicle." A voice boomed throughout the Quinjet as a stormtrooper contacted them.

"Bon sang!" Frenchie exclaimed. "We should have remembered the checkpoints. Imperial presence is strongest here. Shall I land it?" Moon Knight nodded.

"We have no reason not to comply." Frenchie nodded when approved, bringing the Quinjet down and flying to a nearby building. Upon pulling in, they were immediately greeted with a squad of stormtroopers who forced them out of their vehicle and began a search.

"Head inside," one said, with a gruff voice. The Avengers complied, heading into the plain looking building. Once inside a stormtrooper walked out and gestured for them to each go into a different small room. Each Avenger went into one, some resisting but all eventually doing it. Dick, himself, went in and found himself at a table with a woman in a grey military uniform on the other side.

"I am just going to ask you some questions," she said. "Try to attack me, and a squad of soldiers will come in, and we will have you banished. Understand?"

"Yes, ma'am." Dick saw no reason not to obey. Stay sensible and obey the law and he'd get out fine. That was what he had learned through experience.

"Now, why were you flying here without the proper registration?"

"Not sure of that. I just joined the team-just arrived here, in fact. We just came in from the Deeps."

"The Deeps. Hm. And what exactly is this team, that you joined?"

"We're called the Avengers. We try to assist in keeping order."

"Ah, yes. The Avengers. Funny name, considering your lack of true revenge on these criminals. So, your leader is?"

"Current acting leader is a man named Marcus. Goes by Moon Knight."

"Okay. Now, are you aware of the penalty for flying without a licence is?"

"Can't say that I am." She began to lean across the table for this.

"Jail. 5 years minimum. Now, I am sure you do not want to suffer this fate, yes?"

"Of course, ma'am."

"Then, perhaps, we may have a deal. There was a riot in a separate part of the city-near the very gate you came in from, in fact. We may need some assistance in dealing with the people who started this riot. Should you help us, I will see to it personally that your crimes are treated kindly. And should you not-" Her eyes flashed coldly. "You will receive no mercy. Now, I will make sure the others of your team know of this deal. You may go now."

Dick walked out of the room and stood outside as the woman went to the other rooms, apparently doing as she said she would. Soon, the other Avengers had walked out and they began a discussion.

"So, we're accepting, of course. Right?" Dick asked, glancing at Marc.

"I see no reason not to, if everyone agrees. Team?" Moon Knight looked around at everyone.

"Don't see why we'd help them now. What we did before should be fine," Marcus mumbled.

"Marcus. You know they won't know of that stuff right away. So, are we ready to go?" Everyone agreed, and they piled into an imperial ground unit, where they were seated on long benches in the back. They rapidly approached their destination, and Dick prepared himself. They were likely dealing with dangerous people. People who had started a riot. He'd need to be ready. So he took some deep breaths, and cleared his mind for what was to come.

Marc Spector or as of right now Mister Knight silently sat on the armored transports bench. This was it, Coruscant, the capital of the Empire. What they should have called it was capital of trigger-happy soldiers and the home of paranoia. Marc couldn't but help thinking that maybe Marcus was right. Maybe the Empire doesn't care what they have done for their people and they only see the Avengers as vigilante criminals. A group to use as a weapon and then throw away. Maybe this world doesn't want heroes, but they sure as hell need them.

Bringing head up Mister Knight readjusted his bleach white tie. Silently in his head, he counted each and every team member. Eight team members altogether, everyone is accounted for. Great looks like it's time to rock and roll or at least try to anyways.

What's wrong Marc? Don't tell me you're still hung up on good ole Cap's death. Come on man! you mortals are so... weak and whiny. Arrrggh! fine! His death isn't your fault. My son, those Darklings made him deranged, even more so than yourself. I mean he even created the one thing he would never do. he created Hydra here in this Omniverse. So you want to Avenge his name then get your ass up! Act like him! Be inspiring! Heh, all of them being inspired by me... I can dig it.

You're right.

Marc picked himself off the bench and stepped into the center of armored transport. Adjusting his white gloves and pulling his sleeves he cleared his throat getting the attention of everyone.

"Team I know I'm not Captain America and I know I'm not all that great as a leader so I'm going to say this once." He took a moment to collect his thoughts and make sure everyone was listening. "Let's stick together people. Other than that I want the both of you Dick and All Might to stay on me during all this. Marcus, Ratione, Dust-"

"I'm too weak at the moment to do anything."

Marc slightly nodded at Dust.

"Marcus, Ratione you're our point break. If the situation gets too out of hand, you two are to push the rioters back. As for you Dust and the others keep your distance and play as a distraction, and everyone remember these aren't prisoners, so please try not to hurt them as bad."

That's my boy.

"Five seconds to drop off! You superheroes better prepare yourselves, Y'all are about to deal with two primes." A female voice boomed out of the transports speakers."

"You heard her! Let's get a move on people!"

Mister Knight reached into his coat's pocket pulling out several crescent darts and shifting them in-between his fingers. The others did the same readying themselves and priming whatever weapons they had left.

"We're here! lowering ramp!"

"Stick with the plan team and hopefully this will go smoothly."

As Angel looked around at what she could only assume was this place’s law enforcement, a part if her was filled with excitement, it was like a situation straight out of fiction. Of course most of her was nervous, anxious and afraid, like any normal person would be.

It took awhile for Angel to get her voice working, but she did eventually manage to do it. “Look, we didn’t start that fight, okay?”

“Oh, we know that, saw it on the cameras.” The voice that answered sounded a lot more experienced than the one that had told them to raise their hands, also a lot more casual than Angel was expecting. The owner of the voice stepped passed the soldiers to face Angel, looking directly at the young lady with a poker face.

“Then… why are their all these soldiers here?” Angel looked at the tall woman with a quizzical expression, despite not really observing her it was clear by the markings that the woman was of a higher class than the rest of the gun-wielding armored people.

“Eh, we thought someone who managed to beat down a prime twice would require more men, but it looks like your friend already handled himself pretty well.” Again with that casual tone, was their something missing from this situation? The thought of that just made Angel more awkward.

“Then… why are your friends still here waving a gun in my face.”

The woman looked at Angel with a smirk. “You have some spunk, I like that.” As she said this she ruffled up the girl’s hair, making her have to blow her fringe back out of the way. “Truth is, you just forgot to pay for your food, so just forgot to pay for your food. So hand over the 20 credits you owe and we’ll be on our way.”

“How much is that in USD?”

The law enforcer face palmed. “You really are new here aren't you…” She sighed before giving her a suggestion. “Just hand over whatever money you have on you, you can just make more later.”

Angel did as she was asked and searched around for a pocket or anywhere money to be stored. Unfortunately when she did find one, it was completely empty. Of course, they wouldn’t know that, and she needed to get out of this situation, so she did the best thing she could think of. She closed her eyes and imagined a couple of 10 dollar bills in her hand, when she was finished, she gave the money to the officer.

“That should do… just one other question though.” Angel made a noise of curiosity at the womans statement. “How do you feel about working for the empire as an officer, your friend can come along too if he wants. I’m sure with your personality you would climb the ranks in no time.”

“I’ll… think about it.” Angel said not wanting to make a commitment but not wanting to sound offensive.

“Okay, just ask for Nishimura Kyou if you decide you take of my offer, or just want to hang out. Alright troop, move out!” Within a couple of minutes the squad if stormtroopers were gone, leaving nothing but Angel and Cade to stand there alone. Well, Cade mostly, when Angel saw their company she sort of fainted into his arms.
