Cobalt
#1
CHARACTER NAME:
Sgt-CMO.9656 ‘Cobalt’

CHARACTER SOURCE:
Star wars: Clone Wars - Part legends part headcanon

CHARACTER HISTORY:
A clone medical officer of the 222nd Legion, Epsilon(2nd) Battalion, Third company, and the first platoon. The point of origin would be a few weeks after the Battle of Kamino, though his battalion had not received the  Phase II armor that has begun distribution. After this he had a small incursion into what the inhabitants called ‘The Multiverse’; Though he did not believe in this kind of thing and deemed it a very odd coincidence, he learned many things there and gained a few strange weapons to increase his effectiveness in hand-to-hand combat

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
(An old image intended for the same character, I will produce a better one soon)
A six foot man clad in thick white armor made of a material resembling plastic, the armor has green lines running down from the Pauldrons to the gauntlets and just by looking at it, the armor seemed very worn, as if it had been repaired several times and is deteriorating slowly. His helmet would sport a T-visor with an odd green fin on the dome, and green paint identical to that which ran down his arms surrounding the visor itself. The visor would split at the bottom, forking into two points and forming a ‘frowny face’ though this forking would not appear as glossy or plastic as the visor; for it was the filter and the speaker for his vocoder. Besides the green paint on his armor there would be one cobalt blue bowtie painted on his chest plate, just below his chin. This trooper is armed with two knives and a carbine. One knife; which is short and seemed to be more of a tool than a weapon is a vibroblade if any could recognise it. The second ‘knife’ is a twenty inch long steel blade, eerily similar to a Catachan Fang. The carbine is a DC-15, the S variant to be precise, a short and near sidearm looking weapon, entirely black and dull looking with no stock, with no obvious munitions attached. The man himself would have tanned skin, dark brown hair in a crew cut, brown eyes, and a thick moustache worthy of the White Scars under his helmet. His face is identical to that of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. Cobalt would also have an odd accent resembling that of a Concord accent, but with odd changes leaning more towards a Balmorran or Corellian dialect.

STATS:
ATK:3
DEF:3
SPD:2
TEC:2

STARTING PROFICIENCIES:
Physical Strength
Ranged Proficiency
Area Attack Proficiency

STARTING POWERS:
Burst Movement – 800 OM

STARTING MOVES:

Catachan Fang(requires Physical Strength) – 300 OM
A twenty inch long blade of steel, gifted to him by Lord Commissar Augustus of the Death Korps of Krieg (Which is odd, I know) This blade does not have any outstanding properties other than being incredibly sharp and slower than any conventional knife

Vibro-Knife(requires Physical Strength) – 300 OM
A short but speedy weapon, measuring five inches in length and is capable of slicing through steel; though it is required that the user turn it on before attempting such a thing. This blade would be incredibly fearsome in any hands trained to use it due to it’s nature to sever limbs and pierce armor.

DC-15S(requires Ranged Proficiency) – 900 OM
A short ranged carbine with a make effectiveness of five kilometers, though the chances of hitting anything farther than ten meters is very low. This weapon have a capacity of fifty shots before reloading it’s power source, a further 1,000 shots before reloading the Tibanna canister concealed inside the rifle. The weapon has three settings; standard, high-power, and low power. It can be fired at a moderate pace, taking half a second between shots on the standard power mode, low power mode; however, can fire as quick as the trigger is pulled, and a skilled soldier could fire seemingly automatically though the bolts would be significantly weaker and more inaccurate. High power setting is capable of firing a highly explosive bolt on the pull of the trigger, but can only be done twice before the Tibanna and power source need to be replaced, the blast only having effect a foot or so from the impact zone, incredibly damaging on shields or armor. The weapon ionises the highly explosive Tibanna gas to create plasma, which then form a bolt and is launched forward at somewhat anticlimactic speeds. The weapon is good for penetrating armor designed for ballistics, though it is not so effective against either the Mandalorian Beskar armor or metals thick enough to resist.

“Hand zappy thing?”(requires Physical Strength) – 300 OM
This device would only be notice by either touching it or being affected by it, or close observation. The device itself appears to be a thin, wide spaced chain-mail covering the user's right hand and a thin black rectangle stretching lengthwise across his right gauntlet. Upon activation of this device a low hum and small electrical arcs would sprout from his hand when contacting metal. This device can inflict mild knockback, only stunning for 3-5 seconds if the victim's defense matches Cobalt's attack, and doubled if their defense is less, it also has the tendency to overheat when on for longer than two minutes, and beep rapidly until the user deactivates it, allowing it to cool.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

Hey welcome. Your moves need some work, but I'll get your account and roster set up with your approved moves so that you can play in the meantime, unless you'd rather wait. Please post this roster to the rosters forum under the name 'Cobalt'. Before you post in the Nexus, please make sure you've read all of this. We thank you.

All good.

Needs a rough length.

This weapon have a capacity of fifty shots before reloading it’s power source, a further 1,000 shots before reloading the Tibanna canister concealed inside the rifle. The weapon has three settings; standard, high-power, and stun. The stun setting launches a ring of charged particles which overload any nervous system within five meters of the rifle, effectively knocking the victim unconscious for several minutes: Stun is only guaranteed effective against standard humans, anthropomorphics, or plain humanoids as long as they fit within average height and weight which reaches it’s limit at seven feet and four hundred pound limit as larger body mass makes it difficult for the stun to penetrate.
Each mode would cost 300, so this move would cost 900 total. See: Pricing Moves.

This move needs a lot of elaboration, and I'd read the example for M16 Assault Rifle to see how. That's just for the basic mode: you'll need ROF (Rate of Fire). I'm not sure what the 50 shots, then 1000 shots total for capacity means, if you could explain that better I'd appreciate it. It also needs how long it takes him to reload.

High power mode isn't elaborated on at all, so I'd recommend just taking it out for now.

I'd leave off the stun mode for now, since how we do stuns and the like is quite advanced. But if you want to see an example, click here. Stun would probably work best with limitations like a single shot in a clip, or a long chargeup, and a very limited duration (see the example above: we're pretty stringent on stuns). We're talking maybe a second, minutes is out of the picture right now unless you're fighting pensioners.

Quote:Class A Thermal Detonator(requires Area Attack Proficiency) – 600 OM
A handheld explosive device utilising a fusion reaction to create a blast field up to five meters in an open terrain, in the five meters the reaction would atomise anything that did not conduct heat or thermal energy, the grenade itself could be thrown a good 10 meters on a good day, with the ability to affix to any metal surface and count down, or explode on impact.
That bolded bit is problematic. You can't run around vaporising people, so the grenade's gotta be balanced down to something more reasonable.

As for detail, you need the countdown timer (for that mode) and how many Cobalt can carry on his person. You can do something like "2 grenades for every level" or a fixed one. Either way, the fewer grenades he can carry, the stronger it'll be, but it still isn't going to do much more than blast damage - no actual vaporizations, capiche?

The device itself appears to be a thin wide spaced chain-mail covering the user's right hand and a thin black rectangle stretching lengthwise across his right gauntlet. Upon activation of this device a low hum and small electrical arcs would sprout from his hand when contacting metal. When applied to unarmored persons they would receive a shock comparable to that of two police tasers fired in unison. With it’s ability to incapacitate average persons it also has the tendency to overheat when on for longer than two minutes, and beep rapidly until the user deactivates it, allowing it to cool.
See what I said above for the stun mode on the gun: similar nerfs needed here. Might I suggest something like:

"If Cobalt's ATK/TEC is equal to the opponent's DEF/TEC score, this stuns for a couple of seconds. If double or more, it stuns for up to five seconds. If half or less, this stuns for a second or less. This requires a cooldown of a minute before Cobalt can use it again, and he can only use it three times in a single fight before it burns out."

You can take these to the Move Creation Workshop if you'd like more help and advice. I suggest giving the Moves page a good read over again as well, and maybe look at some other examples in the join forum.

Yeah, I made the account and then realised after a few minutes of reading that I would need a different one, and by that time I had managed to forget the password...

Still confused about the bolded bit, still needs how long it takes him to reload.

Take this one to the move creation workshop in the Help Desk, there's a lot of confusing aspects here and it's not really ready for approval.

Nooope, this is way stronger than what I recommended. I'd recommend taking this to the move creation workshop too.
