[Death Dreams] Yume Urostuki
#1
You're honestly not sure what's going on anymore-- you recall the pain just moments before unconciousness, you remember the gnome that you grew close to. Not even a day had passed.

And you failed. You failed them.

Tears start to roll down your face. You fall to your knees, helpless to do anything but cry. Your sobs echo throughout the black, but remain unheard. Your mind starts to wonder if you'll ever see your friends again, only to be interrupted by something passing through your torso. You blink, confused, then you turn to see what is trying to touch you.

It's him. You know that face when you see it. His lack of a mouth, ears, and nose was something only he had. You know that the 9-foot-tall being in front of you, wearing a black jumpsuit, cared for you. Loved you. No matter what happened, no matter what you did, he was always by your side. Even when you desired to take your blade for a spin, you wouldn't hurt him. And he knew that.

You smile, still crying, as you try to hug him. Alas, your body passes through his. You take a moment to glance at yourself, noting that your skin is translucent. Too mentally strained to say anything, you look up at him, only able to watch and wait for an answer.

"You're not really here," Masada said, kneeling down to meet her eyes. "At least I think you're not."

His deep, melodic voice is like music to your ears. You almost feel like you're back in your own dreams, but you know that couldn't be-- that door was closed to you ever since you arrived here in the Omniverse. Your dreams were nearly nonexistent nowadays, save those visions you received back in Coruscant.

"Hey, do you want to head to my spaceship? I can try to explain things there."

You nod, relishing the thought of familiarity. You reach over to grab his hand, but it passes through and you remember that you can't actually touch him. Instead, you follow him further into the black.

Slowly but surely, the world takes shape, colors snaking into the sky, creatures approaching and watching with awe, knowing that their dreamer has finally returned. You can even recognize some of them-- Poniko, Monoe, Monoko. You try to greet them, but your vocal cords still won't do anything.

Eventually something white comes into view. The spaceship. Your gasp and run over to it, touching it. You can still feel it. Finally you have a shred of evidence telling you that you still exist. You and Masada run in, and nostalgia washes over you. The humongous window above the ship-wide piano glitters in starlight, and you sit down in one of the two chairs. He makes his way towards the instrument, pressing down on the keys. A lovely set of notes reach your ears, and the spacecraft lifts off into the air-- well, you think it's going up, although the view outside the window shifted from a starry sky to a countryside with a blue horizon.

"Welcome to the Astral Verse," he says, not even looking away from the window, "the world of dreams."
