Once the flash left me back to the familiar fountain, I looked around the area is a sweep expecting something. Anything strange, weird, out of the ordinary. Well okay, I got all of those things, because the Omniverse is nothing if not all of those things. But I was waiting for some attack from someone waiting for me to return, for a frothing and blithering prime deciding I was the one he was going to fuck with today, or even just for Omni to drop me in the middle of a pool of something unpleasant as one last joke on his part. But I just found myself back to where I began, a calm fountain of water behind me rested upon a ring of flagstone, which slowly disbursed into the white nothingness that was the Nexus. It was the same as it was before, the only real difference was me.
It might have been nostalgic, but at the moment all I could think was "What the fuck do I do now?"
The answer came from a series of sound clips coming from my belt pouch. It took me a second after the (admittedly pleasant) transportation to realize that was my PDA and I ripped it from it's place to find that I was being flooded with replies from the crew I had left on the shore of the gate, back at port and very confused. There was a lot of questions aimed at me, some worried and some very, very angry. I shut it down for a while, and I sighed up to the high heavens. This meant I needed to go back to the Vasty Deeps. The Hell's Bane's teleporter would get me through the Empire's security without having to shoot up the charming store fronts and tacky decorations of Costa Del Sol.
I just wasn't looking forward to the inevitable conversation I was going to have with Elizabeth once she realized I knew what she had been keeping secret from me since I had summoned her ship.
Sadly, inevitable was called that for a reason. I opened up a line to the Hell's Bane and asked for a pick up.
As I felt the pull of dimensional travel, beyond the sheer annoyance of going from Omni's smooth scene transition back to being yanked like a fish through ice water, I resolved to a singular purpose beyond all others.
Against demons, against monsters, against the soldiers of corruption. Against evil in whatever way it came and crawled.
I would Rip and Tear. Until it is done.
