Tech Work - Bug Reporting
#1
Over the next couple of days, it's plausible (not definite but plausible) that the boards might be wonky or the site may go down for a bit.

There are some lingering issues (broken pages in the staff panel) that Joe and I are trying to resolve, with the help of some people from the site's host.  We need to resolve these issues before we can update the board software and board plugins to the most recent versions.  Fixing these bizarre, pre-existing conditions is the ground work before we can start tinkering with updates to themes and existing plugins.

Just wanted to make a public announcement in case anyone notes any weirdness (beyond those occasional server load errors).
#2
A short notice but in about an hour, I'll be updating out MyBB software to the current version. Thiswas something we haven't done in 2 years in case it malfunctions plugins. We have to do it now because, in the words of our server tech people, our board installation is busted. Ironically, those same plugins are inaccessible because that section of the Admin CP is broken.

The update is our last effort before we consider more drastic measures. Best case scenario is this all works perfectly. More likely than not, this may cause the RP plugin to be broken, but Joe has people who will work with him to fix that. The OM plugin should work fine since it wasn't custom built.

None of your posts are threatened. I have backups up everything but the board may be down this evening. I will share this message to Discord as well.

Pardon the interruption, but this issue has to be Priority #1 before we can do any work with themes or plugins or anything else board-side

Board is updated to the newest version of MyBB. As far as I'm aware, it didn't explode any plugins, so that's good. I tested the NewPoints and RestedXP mods and both worked for me.

The issues on our end (the ACP) still exist, so we're in the same place as we were.

Okay, we got it sorted out with the help of a faceless tech guy.

The update, while it seemingly did not impact our core plugins, it did jank some of the themes. Revolution was seemingly spared from this, but the Mobile and Omni themes suffered. I believe I sorted out the issues with them (the big ones -- ie, the chatbox being angry). I'll take a look at this in more detail tomorrow.

This means that Joe and I should be on track to iron out what's out-of-date with the system and then start planning future developments on the IT-side of things.

edit -- if you spot any jank with the themes, please screenshot and PM/DM me!

If you can CC me on any screenshots that would be great, because I'm going to be up all night working on this.

I've also unlocked this thread, so if you'd rather post here, you may do so. After some time, I know we'll have to do a little more cleanup to restore the prior functionality, but I think most of it is minor stuff.

The Mobile PM system is currently being worked on. If you go to compose a PM you'll notice how complete and utterly borked it is right now. I am currently working on it.

Recipient field fixed.

When I'm trying to change accounts while looking at a thread, clicking another account in the drop-down does nothing. If I return to the home page, it works fine. Not sure if it's a bug or something on my end.

As a fan of 90's electronic music etc etc  The combination of Jean michelle jarre ( Who is a fucking legend! Don't let me read any slander ) together with the Pet shop boys ( also iconic 90's) is rather a pleasant suprise.

This next band i discovered quite resently, their political lyrics combined with some nice tunes / violin

For some reason the links dont work in the thread, but they work when they're in the text editor?

Yeah, I've been having that problem too. Apparently you have to format it in this way:
Code:
[video=youtube]watch?v=THF0h0QUGO4[/video]

...yeah, a bit awkward. Other links seem to have broke too so I assume it wasn't always this way.
#11
Many links in older threads broke when we shifted to MyBB about a year or so back. I don't know whether this thread comes from before the shift or whether the issue is due to a recent update we had to do. Do you know the timestamp of the thread in question?

Nah, those posts were from yesterday.

I'm guessing it's something to do with the [*Youtube] tag, perhaps

My "Switch Accounts" drop down has always done this on the Rev Themes. [link] Maybe it's because of my laptop's resolution or whatever? I figure it's an issue with the wrapper or the element being marked as relative or not since it does that regardless of the page I'm on.

Also the below issue is something that has only started up today for me. Wasn't like this last night when I was reading up on DA posts, and it's only applied to the sidebar on the homepage, everywhere else I've looked on the forum has been alright.

What issue is in the attachment? I'm blind.

As for your account switcher? Clear your cache and cookies for the website completely. I had to update core java scrips to get most of the stuff working again and you need to clear it out to get the new shit. If that doesn't work then I need;

Browser You're Using, Windows Version, Have you tried other browsers?  Y/N?

Mobile still doesn't have a "Mark All Forums Read" button. The Archive button for the Chatbox also appears to be missing on Mobile.

I can see if I can't add it as an option to the drop down menu.

Tapping on the shoutbox name brings up the archive. Working as intended.

It sure does. That's what I get for expecting it to say: Archive.
