New Staff!

As I said before the interest check, I had mostly already decided who I was going to mod. However I am hugely appreciative of those who've offered up their time and effort. Thank you! In total, four people PMed me and to those other two, I will be keeping you in mind for the future.

As is fairly obvious, I'm very slow to staff people. I want to have a good idea of who's going to be around for a long time before I put anyone on the team, and it's usually those I've been watching for a good while. With that in mind, I want to welcome to the staff team Harry Dresden and Link! :awesome:

Both of these guys have been around for the slow times and the fast times, and have displayed a good interest and understanding of the rules. I knew Link would be great to have around because he's usually the one asking me inconvenient questions about things that require me to rewrite rules to clarify them As such I know I can trust him to ask those annoying questions that'll improve the site.

Harry Dresden is a guy I didn't know before starting the Omniverse and he's proven himself able to jump headalong into the mix with the crusty old farts and help out without needing to be asked. It's largely thanks to him that the current rules exist as not just topics in a locked forum, as he was the one who first made the HTML versions.

Again thank you to everyone who's showed interest in helping us out. Right now I'm going to train these guys up and make sure they're comfortable as staff members. It will likely be some time before I add anyone new to staff. Please be patient and don't worry too much about being seen. Omni sees all. :joker:

With a new year we need new blood. So with that in mind, please welcome Atelos and Guu to our moderation team!

As we haven't seen them in quite some time, Link and Harry Dresden will be going on the back bench. They're both welcome to apply again in the future if they come back to activity.

We now have more one more staffer to help with the increased load. Probably no big surprise to anybody: Monkey D. Luffy, who's been working hard at this for some time now. Hopefully this should mean that if anybody burns out, we have more than enough staffers to keep us going. 2015 has been incredibly busy so far, and I'd like for us to keep on expanding at this rate.

A few people have already expressed interest in becoming staff members; to those people I would like to say, don't underestimate the work it takes to be a mod. This site is one of the most advanced examples of a play by post and we're only going to keep expanding. I like to keep a staff team fairly tight, and there's nothing wrong in just enjoying the RPG is a member. But if you really want the responsibility and think you're up to it: then just keep playing. Keep learning, keep reading, and keep enjoying yourself. Because that is going to be your only reason to keep modding during the tough times. :zoro:

In order to help out with certain things that only admins can do (such as name changing) I'm making Alex (Proto Man/Shang Tsung) sub-admin. Especially since I'm somewhat incapacitated, this will hopefully remove the need for me to be around 25/7 as the site grows. I am not taking an extended vacation, but there are always gonna be times where I can't be around and Alex is the man.
