Rebby Mafia Game Thread

Welcome campers, to Camp Rebby-Is-Awesome! You're all super lucky to get access to this exclusive summer camp (so exclusive that it's the only summer camp that takes place in the fall!). Let's go through the roster here, and see who is who...

Now for the secret! Among the 15 of you, only 11 are innocent and 4 are up to no good! We have three members of the Mafia that are looking to take this camp over, by any means nessecary! There is only one Psycopath, who is looking to be the last one standing! Everyone else is an innocent Camper. Let's go over some the roles that have been divided among all of you.

Each night, those with special roles can act on them, such as protecting, investigating or eliminating other players. Each day, everybody will vote in an attempt to lynch the bad guys, while the bad guys attempt to avoid lynching. Majority always rules. Ties are broken by a certain role - if that role is not in the game, ties result in no lynches.

Psycopath - This person is on their own team. They can kill (eliminate) up to three players in the entire game, and can use these kills at any point in the game (at night phase). They can use all three in one go, or save them all for the end. They win the game if they make it to the Final Two (or clinch a position there).

Godfather - This is the leader of the Mafia. Each night, the Mafia gets to kill (eliminate) one person. The Godfather is the person responsible for the final decision and sending it to me. The mafia wins when they equal 50% of the players remaining (with the counselor dead) or more then 50% (with counselor alive) (or clinch that position).

Goon (2) - Simple mafia followers. If the Godfather dies, Goon 1 will become the New Godfather. The Goons are unaware of who is 1 or 2.

Camp Counselor - The leader of the townies, but they will be unknown unless their choose to reveal themselves. Their vote counts double and their vote breaks any ties. If the counselor is eliminated, ties will result in no lynch. 

Detective - Each night the detective can investigate one person's role. They will be given the results in secret.

Medic - Each night the medic can protect one person. If they are attacked that night, the attack will be unsuccessful. The victim and the medic will know that an attack was attempted, but not who. The victim will not be told who the medic is. The medic can protect themself for one night only. Any other person can be protected multiple times.

Camper (8) - A simple townie. They have the power to vote each day for who they want to lynch (eliminate).

DAY ONE

As you all move into your cabins and get to know each other, both the Mafia and the Psycopath are starting to get their plans in motion! You can take your first stab at lynching someone, or you can opt to wait and see what happens at night (maybe we'll all get along and nobody will get hurt?)

If you wish to vote, please very clearly type (in bold): Vote - <Name>

If you choose to cancel your vote, please clearly type (in bold): Cancel Vote - <Name>

If you choose to change your vote. Please clearly type (in bold): Change Vote from <Name> to <Name>

It takes 8 votes to lynch someone. You have until 3:30 PM EST on Thursday to vote.

All roles have been sent out. If you have not received your role, then you are a Camper.

As someone who's played a lot of mafia games, let me start off by saying to those new people: the biggest danger as a townie is doing nothing. We'll all gradually die if we don't make a stab (ajaj) at who the mafia is. It's all fun and games so let's FUCKING WIN

Let's wait to start killing each other until after the first day, shall we? If we do anything at this point, we'll probably just randomly lynch a townie. Let's all just chill, and wait until we have some evidence to go on.

This game is kinda my test case because the last time I hosted a mafia game, mafia as a concept was not nearly as popular as it is now. Once we get some momentum and if people like my hosting, I'll do a version where every character has a power, and we'll see some fun ones like, say...Jason =)

And yea, I'm totally cool with writing the Psycho to be like Jason in my write-ups.

Since it was just asked of me, the Medic can protect themselves one time in the game. They can save anyone else as often as they want. I'll add that to the profile.

That said, just being Greg makes him suspicious.

I prefer waiting it out, see what we find out after the first night. Hopefully the detective isn't AFK.

I wasn't suggesting we lynch someone right now. All I'm saying is that often, several days go by without anybody being lynched, and at that point, the odds skew further and further towards the likelihood of mafia victory. It's particularly difficult on forum versions where people feel the need to justify instead of just clicking. Sometimes you just have to roll the dice.

I think we should wait out day 1, as Okor said.
