Something felt off as they took those first steps towards the portal to the Dunes. Dave could feel it like the wavering of the Alpha timeline. Something was up, and he could see it form with each step, starting to get out of rhythm with the others, falling back. He hesitated for a moment before picking his pace up to a brisk walk, trying to catch up, until it all seemed to freeze in front of him. He could see their faces for a moment. John's innocent smile as he tried to make conversation with the weird dragon plated armor dude, the construction dude and that wrench he carries around. It all froze in place for a moment as Dave stared, that is, until a huge rush of time went past him like some fucked up mixtape, leaving him stumbling for balance.
It was almost as if he was falling through time, trying to find his footing somewhere in the future, until finally he landed, seemingly with both feet, glancing around him, seeing that the others were already gone. The Knight of Time adjusted his shades as he stood his ground, looking around at the barren landscape.
"Well this shit ios getting fucked up really fast."
He muttered under his breath as he stared off into the distance, scanning all of the passing Primes at the fountain. None of them were people he recognized. With his hands in his pockets and a slouch in his form, he decided to trudge along, back to the fountain. He didn't feel like going assfirst into one of these portals by himself. Fuck that noise, thats how you end up with a puppet sniffing your ass. The young blonde strolled by the fountain he found himself next to when he first appears, this time it looking different, a lot more elegant and this time no clocks. Everything seemed to change so quickly around here.
With his sarcastic facial expression of real boredom, he touched he water, seeing the ripples flow outward, bouncing around the edges. They seemed to ripple infinitely, and Dave could not help but grab a Timetable and repeat his action as he strolled along the edge, watching the small waves hit each other and clash, as if a huge battle, before suddenly they all dissipated, well all but one. One that seemed so odd and alone as it fell as disappeared into the direction of one of the portals.
The Knight started into the direction, wiping his wet fingers on his dark poants as he retreated them back to his pockets, giving a bit of a "hmph"" as he decided to head down that way. He glanced at any new arrivals, wondering if they might want to join him. Yeah it might be crazy to go one way because some shitty fountain had some chance water that pointed there, but Dave wasn't one to just throw too much off into the wind, not after SBURB.
With a shrug of his shoulders, he decided that maybe hit wouldn't be so bad just jumping into one of the gates, the rest of these assholes seemed top be dong just fine. Plus, looking at the dataverse, nothing seemed to be an immediate danger to him, so long as he kept his head low. As he looked online and tried a bit of checking to see what gate he was heading to, he couldn't help but smirk. The Ashen Steppes. Looks like he couldn't help but try to find someplace familiar. Lets see if it really is like his land back in Skaia.
