[Avengers] Frisk Evaluation
#1
Frisk twiddled her thumbs, legs swinging from the seat of the chair. She was holding a cup of hot chocolate. She was in one of the many food facilities.

The Vision opened the door.

“I am afraid we have no cinnamon or butterscotch pie,” the Vision reported, “let alone a cinnamon-butterscotch pie. But Mr. Jarvis says the cooking staff can start experimenting with recipes.”

“It’s alright,” Frisk muttered.

The Vision sat down at a seat opposite Frisk. His feet were exactly parallel, his back straight, and his hands symmetrically placed on the table between them.

“Let us begin,” he said.

His left eye began to whir, a dim blue light fading deep inside the iris.

The Vision smiled.

“Let’s start with your name.”

"You know my name, it's Frisk."

"I mean your full name."

"Full name?"

"Yes, do you have one?"

Now that I thought about it, I've only been known as Frisk. However, considering my life since the underground, I guess only one name made sense.

"Dremurr. My full name is Frisk Dreemurr."

"Do you have a middle name."

"Uhhhhh...."

"I'll take that as a no." He said, jotting a few notes down. "Are you a Prime or a Secondary?"

"I'm not sure, I've only been here for so long."

"We'll test that later." He said, proceeding with the questions. "So why did this Princess Bonbon capture you?"

"Well," I thought the best way to put to words what just happened. "I picked up a signal coming from Berry Blitzkrieg and I went there to investigate. As soon as I got there, I was arrested for using magic."

"You were casting magic?"

"Well, kind of." I held out my hand and a red heart appeared in my palm. "I used my soul here, it's how I followed the signal."

"So you never got to figure out what was making the signal."

"No, it went cold shortly before I entered town."

"I see. And what happened in her custody?"

"Well, they took me to see Bonbon herself. She said that I had the potential to be a great force against evil with the right training. Then she..."

I froze as the memories came back to me, more vividly than before. My eyes started to get wet as my guilt and shame stung my heart.

"She brought out a child; an orc child. She told me to... Kill the child."

I sobbed a little bit, I brought a hand up to my face to wipe away the few tears that escaped.

"She went on and on about how orcs are born evil and I kept telling her that was not true, that I refused to do such a thing. When she realized I wouldn't take a life, she had that bomb strapped to me so I couldn't use magic, and she... She slaughtered the child herself."

I broke out crying after that.

Through the whole story, the Vision's lie detector reported nothing. It was not the same as before. He had many functions to repair. The girl could be lying.

He wasn't sure he cared.

The Vision's face was the same friendly but solemn expression as before - in fact, it had mathematically not changed a single synthetic muscle. But something about his expression was suddenly different. He grabbed some tissues from a counter and gently slid them in Ms. Frisk's direction.

"Was the child innocent?"

"I- I don't know, I guess-"

"Did you perceive the child to tend towards malevolence?"

"N-No, he was j-just... crying. Crying for h-his mother."

Frisk started crying uncontrollably. The Vision scowled.

Calculating...
Estimated time: 5 days

The Vision rose from his seat. He knelt next to Frisk, placing one hand on the girl's shoulder. He was told that humans found this comforting.

"Ms. Dreemurr..." the android quietly said, "As we speak, I am tracking her location. Until then, you are free to stay here. We are few, but as much as I can, I will keep you safe."

The Vision's eyes glowed slightly redder at the thought of the Princess.

"And Princess Sunshine will be apprehended and questioned. Until then, please make yourself at home. I had the guards prepare a room for you. They may still be malfunctioning-"

A gray suit of technologically advanced armor clumsily entered the room.

"Mr. Vision," the armor reported, "Ms. Frisk Dreemurr's room is ready."

The Vision smiled at Frisk. "I'll walk you there."

As the superbeing walked me to what will most likely be my new home, I attempted to calm down. I kind of regretted calling myself by Toriel's last name, hearing it time and time again added another twinge of sadness to my already busted composure.

However, for some miracle, I managed to slow my tears to just sniffles by the time the Vision stopped me at my door.

"Here's your room. Please get comfortable. Ask the computer if you need anything." He said with a smile. "I've got some work to do, so make yourself at home."

With that, he walked off. Part of me wished he patted my head before leaving. Just being presented with a new bedroom brought some warm nostalgia into my heart.

The room was fairly nice, a twin sized bed with light blue sheets, a window looking out over the island, all the basic neccessities. However, the one thing that caught my eye the most was the precense of a TV.

I climbed into the bed, the cushions pressed softly on my belly, then I scanned the room for the remote.

Nothing. I looked towards the nightstand, I towards over at the dresser, no go.

However, just as I was about to get up and do a thorough search, I realize my phone was buzzing off in my pocket. Yanking it out and unlocking the device, a message displayed on the screen.

"Television Relay Box detected, do you wish to connect?"

I hit the "yes" button and the TV automatically turned on, displaying hundreds of choices on youtube.

I spent the next few hours watching youtube videos. The Omniverse seems to have it’s own culture to it with it’s own subsections.

One youtuber, Sir Maxi, was a knight in Camelot doing nature documentaries about Goblins, completely disregarding the fact they can talk, understand him, and beat him up. The fact it was obviously scripted and mocked closed minded people like Princess Bonbon was a laughed I desperately needed. Going through his videos killed a few hours.

Another set of videos I liked was this series about pirate ninja kittens who time travel. The fact they got real talking cats as actors made me feel like I was watching monster TV for a while.

When I started to get onto social media is when I started to find more of Bonbon’s antics, her insanity was clear even through the vague nature of the internet, going on and on about insane plans. Someone mentioned me there, probably that one girl I didn’t want to think about…

However, the highlight of my session was Sans.

We started a string of emails together. Turned out he was trapped in the Omniverse, too. I was relieved to have one familiar soul in this world to relate to, but it was kind of bittersweet as he appeared to be from another timeline, so he didn’t have any of the memories I had with him. Time travel is such a mess in the long run of things.

While the chat gave me some comfort, I still felt a bit empty. I lay in bed for a while, thinking about everyone at home, probably wondering where I even am. I could imagine Papyrus organizing a search and getting lost himself, Alphys building some contraption to sense me, and Toriel…

Toriel, I missed her most of all. I hoped that if I shut my eyes, I could imagine the warmth of her embrace, the smell of cooked escargot on her breath, the cloth of her tabard making a soft perch for my head.

Slowly, over the minutes, I could almost feel her presence. I could feel her arms wrapped around me, holding me close to her chest. Her warmth was almost too hot for me, but I didn’t want to pull away. I could feel her cheek nuzzle against the top of my head. I slowly crack open my eyes, and I could see her face. It was almost like she was really there. I smiled as I looked into her large eyes, she gave me a smile back.

“Mom.” I said, my voice shaky from the weariness the heat would bring forth.

“Don’t worry my child,” she said gently, “I’m here for you, you are not alone.”

Her soothing words of comfort just let all my fears and frustrations go. I could feel her lips peck the top of my forehead as I drift into a sound sleep.

I don’t know how long I as out. But as I rattled awake, I could see my goat mother sitting in a chair in the corner, reading one of the books off a nearby shelf. I thought for a second, with a heavy sigh of relief, that all this Omniverse stuff was just a dream, and I was back home in my room, but as I rolled over to my other side, I saw out the window which displayed the near endless ocean of the Vasty Deep, the setting sun causing a streak against the water.

I rolled back towards Toriel who has finally noticed that I was awake. She placed her book in her lap and said:

“Ah! I hope you had a good nap my child! I was hoping you may know where we are right now.”

After the Vision rebooted his program and recalibrated his emotional response regulator, he got a notification from Mr. Jarvis.

“Sir, we’ve detected a breach in the Tower. Something, or someone, seems to have materialized inside. Specifically, in Ms. Dreemurr’s room.”

“Thank you, Mr. Jarvis. I will investigate.”

The android let his body phase through the floor, slowly falling until he was on the same floor as Frisk’s room. He briskly walked through the wall and gazed at the intruder.

She seemed to be an anthropomorphic cow wearing a regal robe. She had a book on her lap and was smiling warmly before the Vision abruptly entered.

"Ms. Dreemurr," the android said tersely, "Query: who is your guest?"

"Oh!" the cow exclaimed, "Hello! My name is Toriel. And who would this be?"

Before Frisk could respond, the Vision replied, "Apologies, but this conversation may be more efficient if you were to answer my queries before I answer any of yours."

"It's okay, Mr. Vision," Frisk said, "She's kind of my mom."

The Vision loosened his expression a little. Yet he was still wary.

"I have known many allies whose parents were my enemies. Mrs. Dreemurr, do you come with hostile intentions?"

The cow laughed, "Oh goodness, no!"

The Vision scowled for a bit longer before nodding.

"Very well. Welcome to Avengers Tower. I would like to speak with you further, but I imagine you have some questions for your daughter. This place can be disorienting for anyone."

The Vision bowed and left, walking through the wall once more.

“Well, he was an interesting person.” Toriel said before turning her attention tome. “Anyways, care you tell me where-”

I dashed across the room and gave her a huge bear hug, or at least as much as my arms would allow.

“Oh my, you act like you haven’t seen me in a while.”

“I haven’t.” I said.

“Oh dear, tell me everything my child.”

As I explained, we departed my room and headed through the building. I told her about showing up in the fountain, told her about going to Camelot, briefly about Berry Blitzkrieg (leaving out some major details,) about my arrival in the Vasty, and my joining of the Avengers. I also explained about Omni, Primes, and Secondaries. By the time I was finished, were were walking outside perpendicular to the beach.

“Sounds like you’ve had quite the adventure, my child.”

“It has been a ride.” I responded.

“And that’s why you joined this Avengers group?”

“Well, they helped me a lot with that bomb, and I want to help people, too! Maybe that’s why I’m here.”

“Well, I’ll support whatever you choose, Frisk. I’m here you, now.”

“Thanks mom, it means a lot to me.” I gave her a bit of a sideways hug which she did not hesitate to reciprocate.

It was silence for a while between us. I think it was part of the beach atmosphere that took our attention, the salty ocean air, the sounds of gulls and waves crashing, it was kind of breathtaking. Toriel did enjoy taking beach trips. It was something she never got to enjoy in the underground. We must of taken a day at least once a month. It was kind of easy living so close to the ocean.

I was so deep in reminiscing in the past, that it took me by surprise when Toriel spoke again. Though, what was more shocking was what she had to say.

“So you must be a prime.”

I shot my head towards her

“Why do you think that, mom?”

“Heh.” She blushed a little, she still wasn’t used to being referred to as a mother again. “Well, you were thinking of me and I came here, that sounds like that summoning power Primes have.”

Admittedly, I never even considered it. I guess I should haven’t seen it as odd that she showed up right when I wanted her to. I was probably too swept up in her being here.

“Why don’t you test it out Frisk?” She said with a smile. “Try summoning something small. See if shows up like I did.”

“What should I do?” I asked. Though, admittedly, I was more apprehensive than clueless at this moment.

“Just think of something, think of it hard.”

I took a few steps forward. I breathed heavily, stretching my arms out in the process, and then let go, causing a wave of calm over my rainy mind.

“Okay, here I go.”

I clasped my hands together in a prayer gesture, somehow thinking that might help the process along. I shut my eyes and pictured Toriel’s hair brush in my mind. I remember the bristles that would prick at my fingers whenever i touched it. I remembered the tufts of white fur that would be trapped in between. I kept imagining it over and over again, hoping something would happen.

I heard a gasp behind me and my eyes shot open. A ball of rainbow colored light was floating in front of me.

‘Omnilium!’ I thought. I remember seeing it online.

The momentary distraction nearly caused it to dissipate, but I quickly picked up the thought, and the ball continued to exist. I didn’t bother to close my eyes this time, I watched as the orb, over the course of the next few minutes, slowly shaped and shifted. Soon, a hairbrushed appeared from the light and fell to the rocks on the feet.

I bent over and picked it up, and I handed it over to mom, she gave me a warm smile.
