When I created the Omniverse, there was one big system that was unfinished. I hinted that it would be out there eventually, but since it was a long-term goal for players it wasn't an immediate priority. I'm talking, of course, about the territory/domination system. It's something I toyed with on Another Destiny, and with the Omniverse it's something I wanted and even, in a way, 'built in' from the very inception of the idea. I mean, every RPG wants to say that, right? That you can eventually take over an area? So cool!
It's taken a long time to get it right. I toyed with, and threw away, more ideas than I can count. Ultimately, what I came up with was pretty simple, and based more around IC logic and storylines. When you make something too much about PvP, you start to feel conflict between the best OOC strategy and what your character would do. It also becomes very boring to write if you end up fighting over the same areas back and forth like a tug-of-war, like what many online games do (incidentally, it gets boring there too pretty fast). At the end of the day, we just wanna read good epic stories. The conflict is just a backdrop for that.
So without further ado, let me introduce Recognition and Ascendancy.

Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
