Another month is coming to an end, which can only mean one thing: the new monthly accolades are upon us.
For those of you who are unaware, the Accolades involve nominating (and later, voting for) those who have outdone themselves in a particular area each month. For variety's sake, the categories for each month may be different.
You have until May 2nd to nominate your choices. After that, we will proceed to the voting phase where members will vote among the two individuals with the most nominations for each category. The only exception is if someone manages to get 5+ more nominations than the runner-up, in which case that person becomes the winner by default.
If you wish to participate, think of who stood out the most in a particular category this month and post your choice, along with a 2-3 sentence long explanation, in this thread. You are not barred from nominating your own characters/threads, nor do you have to fill out all the categories.
The winners will become this month's "Community Stars" and will receive a blue user title in recognition of their achievement.
And now, this month's categories are:
‘Best’ Character – Which character has you engaged the most?
‘Best’ Writer – Which writer wowed you the most?
Most Helpful – A staffer or a member who gave you amazing feedback on a story or was simply there to help you sort out some of your problems.
Rising Star – Which up-and-coming member stands at the crème of the crop? (must have joined within the last month and a half or have less than 8000 OM)
'Best' Story – What story did you find most riveting/entertaining?
Most Heartwarming Moment – As ruthless and unforgiving as the Omniverse can be, not all interactions between characters result in conflict. Many have established bonds of friendship and camaraderie amongst themselves, bonds that can become evident in the most enduring or unusual times. What moment between characters made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?
'Best' NPC – What non-player character (can be a site, personal, or story NPC) entertained you the most (for whatever reason). Please note who the 'owner' of said NPC is, just in case I am not familiar with them.
Purple Ribbon - Consider this a bonus category for nominating someone who, while they may not be the best and have all the twitter followers, you believe deserves to be recognized for what they bring the the Omniverse. (The winner must be a DIFFERENT person than last month's winner)

‘Best’ Writer – Jade Harley could probably hit a few categories on this list, but she's overall doing just an incredible job with Volvagia, turning the dragon into the formidable NPC it was designed to be. And when she's not mauling primes at Death Mountain, knocking it out of the park in the Frozen Fields, too.
Most Helpful – It's Nealaphh, this month. Since he joined, he's been working on this Death Mountain thing, and he took it on his back this month. He's brought everyone together and created three unique scenarios that involve everyone in a good way. If we pull it off, everyone involved gets to say we made a major, major difference in the Omniverse, and we get to thank the god-mind for setting us up to be a part of it.
Rising Star – Paul Atreides. I'm not familiar with the Dune universe, but writes his character so convincingly that I already feel like I have an understanding of it. Great writer and easy to talk with, and I'm having a blast creating a fun story with him in the Dunes.
'Best' Story – Malefactor Redux by Gildarts. Great read, and an incredible use of Whompt, one of the NPCs I've seen very little of. Fun read on its own, but also sets up a very cool looking plot arc for the character.
Purple Ribbon - Mark. Fun to talk to in the chat, writes good stories, and is super active as a staffer. I know a ton of stuff happens behind the scenes that we don't see, but we do see Mark getting involved as much as he can daily, and basically helping make this place awesome.

Rising Star – Paul Atreides. Definitely. Like Zack said up there, not too familiar with Dune but the quality of his writing actually made me go read about it. Loved how he handled his initial "rejection" at camelot and his Bandit war in the Dunes. Keep on weirding away, man.

'Best' Character: I'm enjoying Gildart's story! I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in the future with the Malefactor, as they have previously shown that their powers are somewhat unstable. Sooner or later, Gildarts is going to have to make a choice whether to make use of the Malefactor, or to die untainted by its power. Can't wait!
'Best' Writer: I'll have to go with Jade! Their Volvagia posts are astounding, and I'm salivating awaiting their next. I'm definitely going to have to write with them again, as every post of theirs is similarly excellent! It's been wonderful writing with them!
Most helpful: Jade again, their assistance in the Battle of Death Mountain cannot be overstated. They've added their own considerable writing skills to this great meeting of minds, and the quality of the thread is most certainly improved by their presence. I'm always glad to run across them, as their positivity is almost as infectious as Okor.
Purple Ribbon: Nealaphh's been working really hard these past few weeks, both on the battle of Death Mountain, and some secret projects! I'm glad that after all this time, we're finally getting around to completing it, and it's a blast. He most certainly deserves this award for his diligence on this undertaking.
(I'll see about adding some more once I've done my research)

Best writer- Okor has done an excellent job, as always, in the Death Mountain battle.( I also think Jade has too!)
Okor- I like the way you've described the scenery ad the use of your character has been distinct and intriguing throughout the fight.
Most helpful- Jade. She's done a great job being the dragon, your descriptions make the experience very realistic and I keep imagining a smaug-like ferocity in the essence of the dragon. When I was confused it took you all but a minute to offer me advice and link me to Volv's wiki page. Then you even offered some very substantial advice in my other thread "help adulting" which I related to immediately. It's much appreciated, thank you Jade !
Purple ribbon- Arranging such a complex plan with multiple threads and managing a lot of people while taking in account their wishes is difficult, and quite ambitious, but Nealaphh has done a great job to rally everyone, unite them with a common cause and inspire them to do their best- my best. I'm sure I'm not alone in this admiration for Neal's phenomenal leadership. Great job, man.

Best Writer - Okor. I only read a little of your stuff but Christ you're blowing me away. Learn how to share talent, you selfish prick.
Most Helpful - Mark or Failzalot, for jumping on all of my incessant questions. Mark has been awesome about setting up Optimus for me, and Failzalot is judging my fight, and they've both answered me promptly. Thanks guys!
Purple Ribbon - Nealaphhh. Daaaayum. Big-ass storyline, and a good one at that. Well done!
Odd hours. Call for appointment.

Thanks guys :-)
Gotta say though, if it wasn't for Spur/ Matrix responding to my request in the "Cry for Help" thread I would not have been up to the posts I did recently. So my vote for Most Helpful goes to him.

Alright, time to settle those ties! Voting will last until May 7th. You may vote even if you hadn't made any nominations. If you have and a nominee you put forth is in the run-offs, you don't have to cast your vote for that specific category (unless you wish to cast your vote for the opponent instead); your nomination will automatically count as a vote for the nominee.
Due to there not being any nominations for the 'Best NPC' category, the category will be rescinded for these accolades.

‘Best’ Writer: Okor vs. Jade Harley
Most Helpful: Nealaphh vs. Jade Harley
Rising Star: Paul Atreides
'Best' Story: 'Malefactor Redux' by Gildarts
