Recognition Questions

I am not applying as of yet, just a question, but I'll use this thread for when I do.

So, here is my question:

Is recognition only for specific verses? Or can you list of deeds from all over the Omni?

If it is specific to a verse, do you have to be in that verse to get your bonus om on the fortnight? If so, would you have to earn recognition in each verse separately?

As for gaining the bonus outside of that verse, I don't have a solid answer, but I believe Proto Man has been doing so, so I'd say the answer was yes.

Would doing well and/or acquiring fame through a saga help you in your goals of recognition?

My assumption is no, not in a numerical sense. Unless, of course, that saga took place in the verse you're trying to achieve recognition for.

For example: if you were trying to achieve recognition in Camelot, you could gain points for the Colosseum Tournament. But you could not gain points toward recognition for Graveyardverse.

Omni or Proto Man can overrule me if I'm wrong.

People might know of you, in other verses, but in terms of gaining recognition for a specific verse(s) (for both the IC and OOC character benefits of having recognition) it would not count.

The event was hosted over dataverse and watched on by literally every verse, so it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that the event would or could give a tiny amount of recognition for each verse, but if that is the ruling, then that is the ruling. =/

Edit: Ron Burgandy of the ONN was all over the place, it was a whole verse event. If Camelot's tournament could get you some points, I don't see why DA couldn't as well.

I don't think Alex ever promised Recognition as part of the rewards, if he had, it would have been at least mentioned in the Rewards section for DA.

If you want people to know something about you because they saw it through the grape vine (Dataverse) then so be it, but it won't count towards your actual recognition for other verses.

In regards to this, the Camelot event would only count towards your recognition for Camelot, not other verses.

The Recognition you gain for events outside of a Verse is the sort that is just: "Hey! I know that guy!" Recognition in the sense of a Faction means you've done shit for them, or have become enough of an influence by doing stuff THERE that they feel you warrant a bit of payment for your troubles.

As an example, if you do good stuff for Camelot for awhile, they'll think you're a cool dude and give ya some dosh. If you do shitty things there, you'll STILL be recognizable to them, but you ain't getting a dime for it.

Except that, they are giving recognition for Camelot's tournament, which in no way benefitted anyone. It was just a show/spectacle. Much like DA.
