Greetings all. I doubt any of you know me, since I was here only a short time, and made perhaps 3 posts, but I figured that I might as well do this properly. I would like to switch from my previous character to this new one. Please critique. Thank you.
Character name: Kelsier
Character source: Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
Character history: Kelsier comes from the world of Scadrial, a planet subjugated by the tyrannical, immortal Lord Ruler and his corrupt Final Empire for over a thousand years. He was a half-breed, his bloodline split between the privileged nobility and the oppressed underclass—the skaa. Though raised among the nobility, he soon found that he preferred to steal from them instead, alongside a crew of skaa and other half-breeds, including his wife Mare and his brother Marsh. He pulled off increasingly daring heists and confidence schemes, until he finally hatched a mad plan: steal from the Lord Ruler himself.
It went very poorly, and Kelsier and Mare were sent to the Pits of Hathsin, an incredibly harsh mine dedicated to extracting a certain valuable metal. Mare died there, beaten to death. As he watched, Kelsier finally Snapped, awakening incredible powers within him—the powers of a Mistborn, a person able to ‘burn’ certain metals inside themselves to produce a variety of remarkable effects. He killed the guards holding him, and escaped the Pits. Two years later, he returned to take his revenge against the Lord Ruler, with a daring scheme to topple the entire Final Empire. His plan eventually proved successful, thanks to his friends and allies, but Kelsier martyred himself in the process, in order to incite the skaa to finally rise up against their overlord. Kelsier was transported to the Omniverse barely a moment after his death.

Kelsier is almost always smiling, no matter how bad things become or how little he believes the smile.

Starting Proficiencies: Ranged Proficiency, 1000; Physical Strength, 1000; Ranged Manifestation, 600; Remote Control, 600
Starting Powers: Telekinesis Rank 1, 400
Starting Moves: Obsidian Daggers (Requires Physical Strength)--300 OM
Kelsier draws two daggers made of obsidian and attacks an opponent. Though these daggers are swift and wickedly sharp, and Kelsier is skilled with them, their strikes are not very powerful and require Kelsier to get very close to use them effectively (Each dagger is about 14” long, with a 7” blade, and meant more for slashing than piercing). Typically employed as a last resort, in combination with his other abilities, and/or against melee enemies not wearing any metal.
Coinshot (Requires Ranged Proficiency)--300 OM
Kelsier pulls a few (5-6) copper coins from a belt pouch, tosses them into the air in front of him, and burns Steel to Push them at a foe in a small arc (~30 degrees). The coins (each roughly the size of a penny) travel at about 100-150mph and can do a fair amount of damage on a hit (perhaps enough to sink half an inch into a hardened tree trunk), but are difficult to aim because they can only travel directly away from Kelsier’s position relative to the coins (and only in a straight line) at the time of the Push. It takes only a moment for Kelsier to both retrieve and Push the coins, which continue moving in a straight line after the initial Push, but are affected by gravity, air resistance and friction as per the laws of physics.
Steelpush/Ironpull (Requires Ranged Proficiency, Telekinesis)—600 OM
Kelsier burns Steel to Push any number of metal objects in range away from him, provided they are lighter than he is. If they are heavier, he is instead Pushed away from them. The lighter or heavier the object is relative to Kelsier, the more powerful the Push (this is in addition to the usual effects of range). The more objects Pushed at once, the weaker the Push (how much weaker depends on various factors, particularly their relative weights). The objects can only be Pushed in a straight line, based on his position relative to them during the Push. He can Push on metal objects held or worn by an enemy (eg. swords, guns, breastplates, etc), but not on anything embedded inside an enemy’s flesh (eg. earrings). This is difficult to do especially effectively, because the opponent’s weight and active resistance is also taken into account when calculating the strength of the Push. This usually enough to stagger an opponent or throw off their aim for a split-second, rather than rip off their arm or crush them with their own armor. This is primarily a utility move, used for interacting with metal objects in the environment. Note that aluminum, its alloys, and all non-metallic substances cannot be affected by this move. Kelsier can instead burn Iron to Pull on metal objects rather than Push them, which functions much like Steelpushing except that the object zooms towards him (roughly towards the center of his chest) if it is lighter, or Pulls him toward it if heavier.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Yes. Twice.
