Remastering History

On Chubbs, I wrote two large documents containing Orion's history. Part 1 was posted on Chubbs, and Part 2 is half complete in a Word document. I don't believe it ever saw the light of day.

I was planning to post Orion's history here, however I don't feel right about taking what I wrote for one site and posting it here. But I do really want to explore his history again. So I wanted to see if it was possible to use the framework/plot of the story, but rewrite it. I've read Part 1 and I can tell I could make changes that would make it much better to read.

However I didn't want to begin this rather large and daunting process if the end result wouldn't be postable. Could someone let me know if this is OK?

Well, considering your source, you've specified that Orion isn't from the Chubbs Alternate Universe. At the same time, this is a new site and as long as you include everything in the history that you joined with, I don't really see a problem with revising the history if that's what you want.

This response is obviously in no way official, but as there is no section in the rules page to reference for this sort of thing, so, I am gonna just hit you with the feels.

I for one am all for it. It is not as though you would be taking someone else's work from another site, you are bringing your own work here. It's your work you wrote it and it belongs to the character you are playing now. I see absolutely no problem with it and I would feel salty if someone did have a problem with it. It's not free OM, you worked to put those words down and they belong to your character. Eliminate OM from the equation all together and would you even be asking? or would you be like, "It's his history... it belongs here."

I could be wrong, but I also believe Alex has done this to an extent with Wartortle.

Well, considering your source, you've specified that Orion isn't from the Chubbs Alternate Universe.

While that's true, the history is largely the same (albeit with a few required tweaks to establish it in the canon DBZ universe) plus a few modifications I want to make.

I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to get free OM, because really, I won't be. I'll be rewriting the entire thing. But it seems like a grey area, so I wanted to be 100%.

I appreciate the kind words. Even if it was deemed that I couldn't have the OM, I would still want it to be available (though I might not go to the effort of remastering 50,000 words for the sake of it). I would just repost the original, maybe with a few editorial changes.

It would be one thread with each post being a segment of his past. I could have him reminiscing in the first post, but the rest would be the story.

I know that Omni has said that the Astral Realm is good for "Flashback Only" posts.

Yeah, Like Thaal said, the astral real is a good place for this. Possibly as dreams? Maybe a more vivid nightmare if his past was horrific or something.

That's only one way to go about it though, not the only way (just needed to make that clear )

No, that was Chubbs history. This Orion is based off the actual DBZ timeline. The second part of his history will leave off right where Orion enters the Omniverse.
