“So close...”
Dirt kicked up, staining the once shining door of the vehicle as it slid to a halt. It’s lights stained the darkness, revealing the bloody individual on the ground as well as the varying soldiers. Red eyes glared into the window, revealing the two suited men, as well as their well dressed passenger in the back. “Identification?” The soldier asked. With a grunt from the driver, the black car’s engines came to a halt, the key rotating and being pulled out as the soldier kept glaring into the vehicle’s rolled up window.
She was so close.
The passenger door opened, two claws delicately landed onto the dirt path, followed by the ends of military fatigues that followed the digitigrade legs form. The man lowered his head, hunched over, pulling his body out of the car along with a suitcase, the soldier stood straight, turning his head to the sudden activity. The medals were dotted along the green military uniform, the torso hanging with varying awards from the numerous campaigns of the old wars.
“Sir!” The soldier saluted, frighteningly speaking as his clawed hand met his black helmet. The general grunted, walking past the surprised soldier, whom slowly lowered his arm and turned back to stare at the individual on the ground, where the general aimed to walk to. In a mere few seconds, the suitcase was already opened, a revolver taken out and the wooden case tossed onto the floor carelessly. “You could have done great things, and instead you tried to run. Get up.” The general rolled the revolver’s center, six clicks echoed in the night as it’s metal shined against the car’s light. “I said get up. That is a order, Jay.”
There was no response, the traitor merely laid there with her eyes open, staring forward at the checkpoint in the distance. Every soldier in the area was watching, eagerly waiting for a conclusion as they held their rifles, having fought through day and night this past month to capture their target. Joy, there was much joy, their mission would come to an end and they could focus on their enemy beyond the border. “Get her on her knees. Move it.” The general motioned to two soldiers, whom hesitantly looked at each other before jogging up into the light, grabbing Kalli by the shoulders and lifting her to her knees, keeping her there before taking a few steps back.
She merely sat, head low and eyes open, seeming both horrified and confused. The general could barely feel pity, he remember the numbers, both years spent and soldiers murdered, today would be a good day for her to die. With a click from the revolver, he aimed down, the end of the barrel nearly touching her feathers on her forehead.
“For crimes against the state involving escaping police custody, murdering soldiers protecting both the nation and its people, as well as decimating private property and above all else, collaborating with the enemy of the state...You shall be charged with death.”
“This is it.” She slowly looked up at her once father figure, it had been so long ago that she was a mere child learning how to hold a gun, and now she was hunted by the same people whom had taught her such things. All because she wanted freedom. “I’m not sorry.” The general said with a low voice, glaring down at her. She merely accepted her fate with wide eyes.
And then with a click from the trigger, it all faded.

There was a single drip of a water, her eyelids flickered, slowly getting up as the stone below her remained consistent. White, that is all she could see, hearing running water at her side while the tattered blue of her uniform waved with every movement, swaying like a swing on a swing set. "Where am I?" she asked herself, staring blankly at the distance, seeing the flickering gates that lead to each different world, colors of green, red, yellow, brown, and others that she couldn't imagine appearing together. But no matter what color was inside these portals, she seemed to be surrounded by plain white. And a cold, stone fountain spewing water out of it's head, some small droplets raining on her fathers like a light drizzle in the rain.
A flash occurred, brain suddenly coming to life, words dripped from her ears, the word Omni and Prime were the first for her to hear. A strange figure, a empty room, her memory slowly faded in and out of her head like waves through a pond. There was little for her to remember, and she enjoyed that, the temporary amnesia would easily fade in mere seconds as she recalled her introduction to this life. Relaxing, her nerves came back to her claws as she got up to sit on the side of the fountain, no longer laying her back uncomfortably on the surface, laid out like a wounded soldier. Except, it seemed her wounds were gone- she was healthy once more, without cuts or brusing.
A loud thud echoed, Kalli grunting as she slammed onto the floor, legs wobbling as she got to her feet, taking grip of the fountain's side. Slamming herself onto it and staring into the water, looking for a reflection in the shallow blue. Cupping her hands and lifting them up once more swiftly, water splashed over he face, flinching at the sudden force Kalli would soon open her eyes once more, feeling her exhausted legs come to life as her face appeared in the water, looking back at her with the blank expression she had. "Omnilium." She muttered, remembering the mysterious talking figure from before. Was that a dream, or did she literally teleport from one location to the next? And why would a mysterious figure take interest in some random individual?
Finally standing straight and leaning her back against the stone fountain, her brain flickered and faded, and she found herself staring at her hands, muttering "Omnilium." once more in tone of exhaustion and confusion. "Thinking of what I desire most..." Almost saying what she remembered word for word, her arm extend out with the claw pointing towards the ground, looking tiredly, Kalli kept her posture for a amount of time she could not record. After what she could only guess was an hour of standing, the white floor had something land on top of it- a small pack of rations and a new uniform.
"Not what I wanted specifically, but alright..." She muttered sounding grumpy, questioning what her brain had done to modify her thoughts, but maybe her brain had done nothing and it was her mere exhaustion causing her thoughts to shift in and out. No matter what it was, she opened the rations pack, eating the food that was inside and quickly dressing herself in her new clothes, tossing the old ones onto the fountain's side. Staring again at the different 'gates' once more in thought, she began to walk. Where to she did not know, but firmly believing that there was an answer for all of this, she would move to seek it.
