The frozen lotus, Kanda's story begins
#1
Eyelids slowly open, his eyes feel heavy as he has a difficult time focussing at the room around him. Kanda finds himself in a soft bed which is placed at the center of a white room. The sheets, the curtains, the wooden floor, the bed itself, everything was a shade of white. Everything except a wooden hourglass standing on the white wooden table right next to his bed. Kanda breathes calmly as he wrubs his left eye. He feels tired and exhausted, as if he has been awake for days. His head turns towards the table and the hourglass standing on top of it. A purple lotusflower floats within the middle of the object, seemingly still. The flower counts thirteen petals still attached and three on the glass floor beneath it.

Kanda takes his right hand and moves it over the left side of his chest where a seal can be seen. The seal resembles a lotusflower yet looks nothing like a flower, thirtheen black lines can be seen moving out from the center. His eyes stare at the flower within when his pupils widen, another petal makes it's way down. Seeing it fall slowly Kanda can feel his heart racing and quickly stands up reaching for his chest. But instead of falling down the petal stops mid-air, as if frozen in time. He looks at the petal confused and takes two steps back. The room then suddenly starts to shake as if an earthquake is releasing all of its primal power within this small room. The walls start to crack and crumble. Kanda looks around him, starting to panick as he realises there is no door he can escape from, no window showing the outside world. A single large crack emerges below him and the floor starts to open up, Kanda attempts to reach for the hourglass. His fingertips touch the glass when the floor crumbles below him and he sees the fine artpiece getting further away from him. He quickly turns his attention below him, where is he falling to ? how far does this go ? is this the end ? Kanda keeps falling at high speed, his blue hair being blown up and his eyes squinting as he tries to keep them open during this high speed fall. His heart is racing as he sees a darkness below him closing in quick. He decides to accept his fate and with open arms he falls down closing his eyes and awaiting his final hit. He lets out a final shout before hitting the bottom, before it all ends.

Kanda lets out a shout as he quickly sits up right in the darkness. While drained in sweat and breathing heavily he checks to see if he is alright and moves his hand from his neck over his chest and starts to slowly calm down.

'It was only a dream' he thought.

He felt a strange presence and immediatly jumped up, turned around prepared to face whatever there might be. Within the darkness he saw a grinning silhouette in the darkness. Kanda opens his mouth to ask him what is happening but no words seem to escape his tongue, no sound can be made. Then the silhouette speaks :

“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

Kanda remained silent as he tried to comprehend what was going on. The silhouette hands Kanda a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce.

“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.

“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.

“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

Many questions came to Kanda's mind as he reached out for the silhouette wanting more awnsers but the darkness fades away quickly and he finds himself in a vast, empty white landscape infront of a fountain. Kanda's eyes are wide open as his mind filled him with questions. He turns around and sees nothing but white space. When he takes another look he sees he sees a large gate with palmtrees further in the distance. While looking around he concludes that this isn't the only gate. Seven more gates are around him, each having a different style and look but they all seem far away.

Kanda slowly closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.

'Kalm yourself' he whispers to himself.

He walks towards the fountain and splashes some fresh water in his face. He sighs and sits down, placing his sword in his lap, his hands on top of it and closes his eyes.

'Omni...Omnilium...Omniverse' The words were spoken sofly as Kanda was trying to make sense of it all and taking a moment of silent before moving on.

Kanda slowly opened his eyes and stands up straight, he unsheats his sword and points it towards one of the gates. His facial expression shows something is not right and lowers his weapon. He thinks for a moment and decides to try something. Kanda runs his index and middle finger along the back of the red crystal katana blade and speaks the words 'Mugen Unsheathe, Innocence Activate', nothing happens.

He takes a close look at his sword and moves his thumb across the blade, pushing the blade slowly into his finger to create a small cut. When the sharp metal slices through his skin his red blood quickly finds a way out of his veins as he retracts his thumb. Kanda looks at the small wound, observing it as if he was waiting for something to happen.

'Tssj, seems like this place is different after all' he muttered frustrated as the small wound stays open.

He wipes the small drop of blood off on his pants and feels the orb he had gotten from Omni earlier and takes it out.

'Omnilium eh ? Anything i desire hmm? Alright Omni, lets see what you can do' He takes his sword in the same position runs his index and middle finger along the back of the red crystal katana blade and speaks the words 'Mugen Unsheathe, Omnilium Activate'. Mugen starts to show a silver glow along the sharp side of the blade. A satisfied grin appeared on Kanda's face as he moves Mugen gracefully through the air as if he was directing the wind itself before placing it back in the sheath. When he places his sheath back in his belt, he notices the rags he is wearing. Obviously not the best outfit for him while he is out here.

Kanda takes a deep breath and closes his eyes, focusing on the omnilium and on what he tries to accomplish. He remains perfectly still for a while. Only his chest moves as he takes slow breaths during this moment of pure focus. His thoughts are about the exorcist uniform he is used to wear. the uniform of an Exorcists is largely black with silver trimmings, with the buttons and the Rose Cross pin being made entirely of silver. The coat has two cloth shoulder pads and the coat is long enough to reach the upper legs. After several minutes Kanda opened his eyes and noticed that the omnilium actually worked.

'This might actually not be so bad after all'
he said with an obvious tone of satisfaction to it.

Kanda inspected the uniform, made sure his sword was strapped on properly walked towards the edge of the fountain and looked up into the white nothingness 'Let the games begin, Omni'. His words didn't leave his lips or he heard a noise on the other side of the fountain. He draws his sword and holds it in a defensive position. The back of the blade follows the length of his arm all the way to his back. He moves around the fountain to investigate.
