Upcoming Forum Banners

This won't be complete overnight, but I wanted to share what I've got so far for this and give people a chance to contribute/give opinions. Right now the site's banner represents the Nexus. Soon I want to have banners for every individual IC sub-forum, with scenes that evoke the feel of each verse.

For example:

Pale Moors
Vasty Deep
The Underverse

I wanted to give folks the chance to contribute any pictures they've found for the banners as well. Pretty much everything on <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.wallpaperup.com">http://www.wallpaperup.com</a><!-- m --> is amazing and I'll probably be looking through the 'jungle' tags soon (I already have dozens from 'forest' saved for the Tangled Green, but none of them quite match what I had in mind). I have stuff for Camelot and Coruscant already, in addition to the ones above. Also some others for other Verses which I'll use if I can't find better. But here's what I'm going for:

The Tangled Green: Dense forest/jungle. The taller the trees, the better. The idea is that most of the time, the sky is largely obscured by the branches overhead.
The Vasty Deep: Big-ass ocean. Perhaps it could be a view of the sea from a beach or a resort-type area, to represent Costa Del Sol, the island where you arrive there. There's a lot of other good ideas in the thread, though some I can't use (like Sabaody archipelago, because it's drawn and I'd rather keep the banners realistic-style)
The Endless Dunes: Big valley, desert, wasteland. I was looking to see if I could find any with the view of a far-off town (the town with no name) but the towns all look too modern or have characters in front of them.
The Pale Moors: Dark, misty moors. Maybe something with a view of Dracula's Castle, or Darkshire (which is supposed to look like your typical creepy little Silent Hill town, not explicitly fucked-looking but not somewhere you wanna go. Or like a little Romanian town)
The Ashen Plains: Basically? Like Mordor. Or Blackrock Mountain. You get the idea.
The Frozen Fields: A snowy mountain range. It has one big, central mountain. Could also do a view of the outskirts with the glaciers and snow fields.
The Dataverse: Kinda like Tron. It's all totally mutable, being data, so it could be a lot of things.
The Spirit Realm: Like the Fade from Dragon Age. Again, totally mutable, but in the magical sense rather than the digital.
The Void: Like the Nexus, but with the colours reversed. Totally monochromatic but mostly black/grey. It also has white leylines but that'll be difficult unless you want to photoshop them in yourself (see the full description in the Void topic)
The Oververse: Clouds. Heaven, basically. Though the main city is rather unique, see the full description for that. Something from Skyward Sword might possibly work.
The Underverse: Hell, basically. Outland from WoW is a pretty great, really evocative portrayal of this.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any hi-res landscape scenes from Outland.

Also, if anyone shit-hot with graphics skills feels like creating an exciting index banner for use with the index and OOC forums, go ahead. I am picky mind, I don't want something with anime/comic characters pasted on, I'd much rather have something with awesome, abstract scenery (though that said, ironically enough, something like the background scenery from the weird abstract landscapes of Black Rock Shooter or Madoka Magica fit perfectly =P) and maybe silhouetted or obscured figures. Ya get me? Otherwise I'll probably just set it to rotate randomly with the IC forum banners.

I thought this idea was neat, so I hope you won't mind me dredging this thread up. I'm not so good at using graphics programs, but I am really good at finding things to do simple tasks for me, like picfont.com

Anyway, I don't even know if this is helpful, but yea! I figure you could chop off the top third of that image and resize it and add a border to make a forum banner. It's an attachment, because the site had me download the image.

When I get home from the suburbs, I'm going to look for some pictures of the scenes you listed above.

As for Outland, you probably mean the Hellfire Peninsula, right? Since for whatever reason no two zones in that place are even remotely similar.

The problem is finding pictures wide and hi-resolution enough, like our current banner. Let's see ...

I'm still in need of banners for the Dataverse, Oververse, Void, Endless Dunes, Frozen Fields and Spirit Realm. Mostly tough ones. It's surprisingly difficult to get a good one for the Endless Dunes that doesn't have clear, un-run-down civilization in sight.
