I'm sorry, I just the word saga to refer to group stories.
I had an idea for a group storyline that's a little more laid-back (XD) than DA.
The idea was that people wouldn't play their primes, they would play pretty average secondaries who come from across the Omniverse.
The story is that all of these secondaries have either purchased, won, or otherwise illegally gotten aboard a new cruise liner being launched by the Empire from Costa del Sol. It's magnificent, gorgeous, giant, and one of the biggest undertakings by the Empire and the Imperial Navy since the construction of Impel Down and is generally seen as an attempt to generate positive PR for the Empire as it seeks to extend its influence into the Deep.
So yea, RP'ing on this majestic ocean liner. Exploring the various decks, schmoozing in cafes. The ship was designed to also have a bit of historical flair to it. It looks much like an ocean liner would in the early 1900s, and it even runs off of steam/coal and electricity rather than standard Imperial tech.
During the course of the trip, which is designed to travel toward a modern-ish city further into the Deep, some members of the Company that designed the ship (The White Sigil Line), want to take a detour through the eastern part of the verse, as that part of the verse is prone to less pirating and the seas allow for faster sailing (to cut down on expenses).
On a fateful night, the gorgeous ocean liner steams full-speed through the frozen night. Its crew shrugs off warnings of ice bergs, and a little passed midnight, the liner strikes an iceberg. The hit cleaves through five of its water-tight compartments which is enough to doom the ship to sink in a little over an hour and a half. From what point on, the crew will rush to ensure that they can save as many people as possible (starting with women and children and working their way down from 1st to 3rd class), but in an effort to save money, the Empire didn't provide the ship with enough lifeboats, so only 40% of the people onboard can be saved =(
As drama ensues, with the boat gradually sinking into water cold enough to kill most individuals in no time flat, the secondaries will struggle to either save their peers or do what it takes to survive. We as the writers would discuss out-of-character who ultimately survives (maybe a public poll) the disaster out of the player-controlled secondaries.

I think this could make for a fun and light-hearted (yet obviously filled with in-character drama) storyline that we could all do. It also allows us to let loose but still create something that has an actual impact on the greater story of the website (unlike doing a non-canon event). It would also let everyone have a little fun roleplaying someone who isn't their prime and who isn't even a prime in the first place. Players could create a secondary who is a crew member, a 1st class person, a ship worker, or even a lowly 3rd class'er.
Opinions, ideas?
