Monthly Community Accolades entails nominating and voting on who you think best epitomizes the categories selected for each month. Categories may vary each month.

This is the nomination thread.

Nominate your choices, and after one week, we will move onto a head-to-head vote between the two individuals with the most nominations (unless someone has +5 more nominations than the next guy… that’s a landslide).

For now, all you have to do is read the category, think of someone who best exemplifies it, and explain your reasoning in 2 or 3 sentences. Post that all in this thread. There is no rule against nominating your own characters, and you do not have to nominate for all categories (just those you feel comfortable with).

Winners will become ''Community Stars' until the next vote. They’ll receive a Medal!, a blue user title, and a bonus ‘reward.’

'Best' Character - Mickey Mouse. His narration and dialogue both fit the character very well. Also, the latter has been pure gold so far.

'Best' Writer - Deadpool. Before you guys label me a homer or whatever, I wanna make my case: I've done an assload of writing over the last month, showed versatility with a few different types of characters, and have my work has stayed relatively consistent throughout. Not to mention the plots I've formed for Deadpool.

Most Helpful - Omni. I'm really glad you're around more frequently (not to mention writing!!!!!!!), and your presence is appreciated. You've been able to clarify some of the rules more, enforce them, and also work with members to help their moves come to life.

Best Character: Desco votes for... Ganon!

I like Ganon's writing, he isn't as you expect for Ganon from the games. But then you don't really get a good look at the games except you know he has to be devious, it's just always offscreen.

Guuu, always writing lots more than I can always keep up with :p. Guu always keeps things interesting.

Guu works very hard as staff and is always getting on those tasks so Proto and others don't have to. She helps a lot ^^.

Well, Carn is interesting and he seems to be around all the time. Plus he already has a sizable amount of OM.

Best Character- Jon Snow

This badass has held true to his own unique perception of the Dante Verse, and his character portrayal is amazing. His analytical nature brings out the best in whoever is set to respond. Jon has done a great job interacting with others and always establishes or accomplishes something with his every post.

Best writer: Mickey

Simply put, I like your work and think you've done a great job so far interacting with others. You and Luffy get along superbly as well.

Best Character: Mickey Mouse
Just fascinates me. It's a shallow cartoon character for kids that suddenly becomes deep and almost existential. (thinking of the scene where he watches his own movie)

Best Writer: Mickey Mouse
Dialogue that is realistic to the situation, but still keeps the 50's goshdarn voice which is Mickey's trademark.

Dammit Mickey. Cause he has the best character and writer but he started (relatively) recently.

Best Character - Gilgamesh (With the developments with Karl Jak and the sheer amount of people trying to take the piss out of him the golden king does a great job of staying true to his character.)

Best Writer - GannyD (Dude is putting out quality posts in the pre-show, I'm anxious to see what he can do on the island)

Most Helpful - Proto Man (Still has time to help people out and keep on top of DA, mad props)

Rising Star - Nealapph (Very awesome character concept and he's running a very cool solo story out in the Steppes!)

Nominations

Best Character - Jon Snow
Never watched or read a bit of anything related to Game of Thrones, nor have I played any of the Telltale games, but Jon Snow here really makes me want to. He fits right into the Omniverse's vast setting, and the way the writer makes Jon so engaging tells me he should definitely take this spot.

Best Writer - Mickey Mouse
Almost took place as Best Character nomination for me, but the main reason being, is that he writer taking the role as Mickey here convinced me that no matter what character he'd be writing as, he'd make it engaging as hell to read. Practically makes me jealous with how well he writes dialogue, too!

Most Helpful - Guu
This gal told me the right ways from the wrong ones plenty enough times to have it in me to trust her state as a moderator. Simply put, she's not afraid to tell you when you're doing something wrong, and is very helpful when it comes to fixing things up.

Rising Star - Nealaphh
One of the coolest characters in the Omniverse in my opinion, his writing isn't bad at all, and not only that, but he definitely knows how to handle his character, already having a ton of influence and bounties on his head! Would love to roleplay with this guy soon!

Honorable Mentions

A list of people who had me very conflicted on my choices above for Nominations, and the few I absolutely need to state deserve at least some credit here...

Best Character Mentions - Agnès Oblige, Galel Baraz, and Tartaros
I list Agnès, not because she is currently Shay's pocket medic, but rather because I love the idea of having a polite and gentle healer character thrown into the violent and harsh situations of the Omniverse, which is exactly why I jumped the spot to see myself roleplaying with her. Galel Baraz and Tartaros, the badass Space Marine duo, speak absolute business and badassery, especially alongside Okor. Really hoping I get to roleplay with those two sometime!

Best Writer Mentions - Gilgamesh
Not too much of an obvious choice for me, but something about the way Gilgamesh's writing clearly made me want to get involved with his character, as evidenced by Shay and Agnès soon-to-be adventure out at Carrefore. He is one of the few people that can take a dead city in the middle of a barren desert and make it interesting.

Most Helpful Mentions - Proto Man, Ganondorf
These two fellas were there for me a lot of the times when I was in need of having things accepted, and as with Guu, they've shown me right and wrong before as well, giving them a place here.

Rising Star Mentions - The Flash, Dr. McNinja
In the case of the Flash, I'm absolutely adoring how committed he is to influencing this site, already putting in motherfuckin' Darkseid, giving the Steppes some love among many other things as well. Although his posts are relatively short, he has a high posting rate, making up for it easily. As with Dr. McNinja... Well... He's Dr. McNinja, must I say more? I had heard a bunch from the Dr. McNinja comic, so this'll definitely want to make me read up on it, because this guy could potentially become a new breed of Deadpool.

Best Character - Monkey D. Luffy. Maybe it's just personal tastes, but I appreciate his ability to make his character ignorant.

Best Writer - Deadpool. I don't always read other people's work, but when I do, I prefer DP.

Most Helpful - Gilgamesh. For me, at least.

Rising Star - Dr. McNinja. Guy cracks me up.

Best character: Nealaphh. I really like the tone he sets, with the godlike being reduced to simple levels. I'm looking forward towards his further writing, not to mention how he'll deal with the bounty hunters.
Best writer: I'd say Ganon. His character is very well fleshed out, and, while clearly evil, is also reasonable enough to not go around kicking puppies all day.
Most Helpful: Gilgamesh. He was very helpful during the fight, and his advice was excellent. I fully intend to improve based on his advice.
Rising Star: Nealaphh. He posts frequently, they're always lengthy and enjoyable. I can't wait to see what happens when he gets to the point where he can start making waves.

Best Character - Violet

I've said in the DA Pre-Show threads that I think she's in the running to win the whole thing, and that's because I think her character is so engaging. Her early Camelot stuff is impressive, too, and honestly I'm just eager to see where it goes.

Best Writer - Ganondorf

Literally, reading your posts makes my day every time I read them. There's a lot of people on this site I would love to RP with but I ache to find a reason to put my mouse with your tyrant. Your posts astound me with how well they flow, and just how emotionally satisfying the story is post after post. I always feel so much catharsis, and I don't even have to wait till the end of the story it's just the post.

I just love this guy. He's super nice and helpful in all of the questions threads and everything, really socially approachable, and helped a new guy like me get my footing RP-wise when he agreed to RP with me in the Pre-Show. Just generally super helpful. You're great Luffy!

Really, all around a cool guy. His character's so freaking nifty and fun and just... yes. A star on the rise, to say the least. And part of one of the coolest early F2F's.

Being a 'new' member myself (was rather inactive for a long time there), I can't really have too much of a day in this, but from what I've seen our dear anomaly can be visualised rising above the rest of us newbies.

Rising Star – Nealaphh! He's been down a few posts but I keep looking forward to it! He's "Canned God" situation feels awfully familiar to Carn's "God of Cans" feel. Basically, there's thi god who has been reduced to a finite size, then there's this Anomaly bound for bigger things. I'd love to RP with him some time.

'Best’ Character– Ganondorf

Good to see you back into the swing of things, Papa G. I like how your taking the high-road with the Gerudo King and allowing the reader to see two sides to Ganon. Villains are so much more relatable and enjoyable when they're not all "destroy the world conquer all!" every waking minute of the day.

‘Best’ Writer – Mickey Mouse

Shieeeeet, this guy literally came out of nowhere lol. Showed up just as we were hitting the pre-pre-show, got his own little ball of mojo and hype rolling and pretty much stole the entire show. DA specific stuff aside, though, Mickey's an amazing writer. He writes dialogue so fluently and incredibly, and he's managed to twist and transform a kinda-cheesey cartoon mascot mouse into a surprisingly intriguing and cool character. Mickey's just the kind of guy who can write as literally anyone and anything and pull it off in a way that's true to the canon and gives it proper justice.

I've wanted to nominate this guy up onto the stand for this one for quite a while, now. He gave me some really, REALLY cool plot ideas a while back for Jon (sorry I couldn't use them, time constraints really do suck sometimes ;3) and he's generally an insightful and helpful dude who I've seen assist a lot of people with their problems, questions and troubles.

Rising Star – Dr McNinja

A hard tie between Nealaphh and this dude for me, but this guy gets my vote this time just because he's playing a comedically based character and I always love those character arch-types in like, literally anywhere lol.

Best character: Deadpool

He just is; hands down. There are a few other people who's character could go here, however, the flexibility and surprize element is off the charts. You're doing really well with this character and the crazy thing is, I feel like you have only begun to tap into the potential here. Solid Character.

Best writer: *Pulls a Retane(=P!)* Me, I, the one and only, Sasuke Uchiha!

You are like a breath of fresh air and one of those I mentioned earlier who could have had best character. When I first read your signups, Mickey in the town hall holding onto the flyer I thought then, "Wow, this is structured nicely." and since then you have only gone above and beyond that. You're seriously must watch T.V.!

Of those who qualify for this position, I must admidt I haven't read alot of their works, however, of what I have read I feel like Dr. McNinja is a quirky character, good for a chuckle and over time, with enough of those chuckles, we may find we have fallen in love with this character, keep it up.
