Hey, say I want to throw my melee weapon in a fight, to take out someone who's escaping or something. Do I need ranged proficiency to do that, or is it assumed I'm proficient enough with the weapon martially to accomplish this?
Edit: And a question about extraction. If Whirda chose to (for in character reasons not yet written, such as a sudden need for as much OM as possible to settle a vendetta or something), can she extract it from, say, fresh corpses of enemies? Like if she killed goblins would they be worth OM, provided she spent the time required?

If you want it to be an effective ranged weapon, you'd need ranged proficiency and for it to be incorporated into the move. I mean, you can throw your weapon, but it won't do much. The assumption of being proficient comes with buying the proficiency.
As for extraction, yeah, you can do it IC. Since everyone is earning OM as they post, you can come up with your own IC reasons as to where it comes from, whether it's from doing jobs, killing things and extracting the corpses, or extracting some valuables (like weapons, armor, or high-grade materials) you find. That kind of thing.

Gotcha. How much OM would, say, a goblin drudge be worth? Or a shaman?

Not too much. I'd leave it vague. The numbers are only for OOC usage, IC I would just distinguish between 'a little' and 'a lot', unless say you finish a quest and you want to attribute all the OM you gained from posting to that one IC reward - then you can be as exact as you like.
