Aegis’ day so far was eventful. The day started with a few of Damir's bugs burrowing itself into the combat system of the Arena Gate. It until lunch for Aegis to finally debug the worm. Since this attack was wrought by a worm, Aegis also had to restore half of the player data for the world's third largest Dragon Sky hub. Once done with that he decided to accept a battle from a challenger, the third ranked player worldwide.
Aegis stepped into the Arena Gate, and began his selection process, he chose his most basic form, equipping it with his standard armor, spear and shield, and his favorite two modifiers, mecha and ultimate, which are stackable. Since players cannot view their opponents picks, Aegis gives himself run downs based on what ifs, focusing on natural abilities and weapons.
The fight begins and Aegis fully extends his spear and his shield makes a loud thud as i comes full circle. He braces himself and steps out on the arena floor. He sees three dots of red and barely has enough time to raise his shield as a pale blue heated energy slams into it. Aegis stumbles slightly and then lets out a bolt of lightning, hitting his opponent. His opponent had chosen the Hunter, which was no natural species, but was one of the Bosses Father had made. While the Hunter does get bonus resistance to acid, a higher overall strength stat, and health points, it does have its disadvantages, such as not being able to use modifiers or weapons that don't come with the species’ unlock.
The Hunter extends the blades housed in his gauntlet. He leaps forward going with an overhead slash, Aegis blocks the opponent's attack with his shield, taking this opportunity to jab at the bare spots of his opponent's armor, making the Hunter roar in pain. At this range the Hunter decides to take a risk and use its plasmatic magic, placing three shots in Aegis’ midsection. Then with a deafening roar, Aegis pushes his assailant off.
Aegis backs off a little, and decides this is the time to use his ultimate modifier. Aegis starts to shift, his forms grows to 12 feet tall and brightly colored feathers sprout out from his elbows, the back of his head, and his wings become completely covered in feathers, a glint lights in his eyes, and his claws and talons jut out further.
Now with renewed ferocity Aegis speaks the first words of the battle “It’s time to meet Quetzillos”, he swipes across and down with his right as his opponent blocks with his gauntlet. The attack knocks the gauntlet off of the Hunter’s arm. The Hunter starts to fire its plasma bolts at Aegis, now Quetzillos. He charges at his assailant, in this form Quetzillos’ speed and strength have more than doubled, the bolts either miss or just merely glance off his scales or his armor pieces. Soon Quetzillos is upon his opponent and starts slicing into the Hunter with his claws.
“ROUND ENDS, WINNER AEGIS”, the Arena announces, the two forms disperse, revealing the two players. Aegis nods to the loser, “Are you going to make this a regular thing?” Aegis asks the challenger “We’ll see, that top spot will be mine”, “Well at least make sure you beat her before you even attempt to beat me”, the challenger laughs then disconnects and exits the Arena gate. Aegis rolls his eyes, then disconnects, he goes through the Gate and then…
Darkness, total darkness. Aegis feels as if he floating, and completely unsure if his eyes are open or not, then a white figure appears to him,
Quote:”My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
Omni hands Aegis a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.”
“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.”
“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
The darkness fades away, and he find himself in a vast, empty white landscape, in front of a fountain.
The fountain is a granite ball sitting on top of a granite block, water gurgles through the, and makes the ball rotates slowly. The water gives the sphere a slight sheen. Aegis stands up and stretches,
‘Hmm who is this Omni? Is it Damir? Or is it Father?’ Aegis thinks to himself. His thoughts are interrupted by a bold exclamation
“You there, freeze! Under Camelotian law you are under arrest!”, Aegis can hear the subtle creaking of wood as a few bows are drawn. He turns slowly and sees about 15 men, their archers are a rough half of the group, with an even split of them being armed with crossbows or longbows, the others are armed with an assortment of blades, maces or spears.
“Well pardon me sir, I just got here”, Aegis says politely. Then he strikes, pressing his fingers together and his claws extend, making a point. He jabs downward with his right, hitting the commander on the temple. The strike knocked his helmet off and rendered the man unconscious, after this Aegis spins and grabs onto an archer's crossbow. Aegis lifts the crossbow with dazzling speed, hitting the archer’s nose. Aegis then kicks a spearman’s legs out from under them. As the person falls, Aegis punches them, knocking them out.
