Queens chase Kings

A white flash burned the assassins cornea as she gazed upon the seemingly endless white room. How she hated this place. Too bright, too open, too many people. Nevertheless, it was the central location of the Omniverse and she had to pass through it if she wanted to find Ghidorah.

It took a while for her eyes to adjust to the Nexus but within time, she was able to look without having to squint. The only visible structures, the gates, and the fountain, stood far in any distance she tried to walk. Her best bet would be to find the troopers that replaced the murdered ones' places.

As she was about to continue on, her head throbbed like a bass drum. Pain reverberated through her skull, it brought her to her knees. Any onlooker could watch as black aura surrounded the assassin and wrapped around her with its warm, deathly-looking embrace. The black flames dissipated after about fifteen seconds and emerged Erika, the lovely blonde. Her magenta eyes pierced through the white hue of the Nexus at the people surrounding her. When her eyes met their's they quickly acted as if they were just standing there spacing out and walked off. It took a moment for Erika to collect her thoughts. What was she doing? Where was this place again?

This place was familiar, important if anything. She was looking for something- no someone. A dragon? Dragon man? Yes, that’s it.

“Gi- No. Gai- Gordah? Dorghi? Fuck it.” The murderous assassin clenched her fists together tightly, sweating through her gloves, still hot from the Ashen Steppes. That was when she looked at her hands and the steel bracers she wore. How would these help her punch? She needed something more suiting to keep from hurting her hands and appropriately arrange her enemy’s face. Omniscient light covered her entire forearms and hands as she focused on the items she wanted. Metal wrapped around her wrists firmly as gauntlets formed over hands.

With her new bashing utensil ready the assassin continued her walk to the Fountain of Infinity. Many people surrounded it. Was a new prime there? Was Ghidorah wrecking more havoc on innocent people and soldiers? Only one way to find out. With a swift starting kick, she began to run towards the Fountain, ready for anything that might be waiting.

Aegis’ day so far was eventful. The day started with a few of Damir's bugs burrowing itself into the combat system of the Arena Gate. It until lunch for Aegis to finally debug the worm. Since this attack was wrought by a worm, Aegis also had to restore half of the player data for the world's third largest Dragon Sky hub. Once done with that he decided to accept a battle from a challenger, the third ranked player worldwide.

Aegis stepped into the Arena Gate, and began his selection process, he chose his most basic form, equipping it with his standard armor, spear and shield, and his favorite two modifiers, mecha and ultimate, which are stackable. Since players cannot view their opponents picks, Aegis gives himself run downs based on what ifs, focusing on natural abilities and weapons.

The fight begins and Aegis fully extends his spear and his shield makes a loud thud as i comes full circle. He braces himself and steps out on the arena floor. He sees three dots of red and barely has enough time to raise his shield as a pale blue heated energy slams into it. Aegis stumbles slightly and then lets out a bolt of lightning, hitting his opponent. His opponent had chosen the Hunter, which was no natural species, but was one of the Bosses Father had made. While the Hunter does get bonus resistance to acid, a higher overall strength stat, and health points, it does have its disadvantages, such as not being able to use modifiers or weapons that don't come with the species’ unlock.

The Hunter extends the blades housed in his gauntlet. He leaps forward going with an overhead slash, Aegis blocks the opponent's attack with his shield, taking this opportunity to jab at the bare spots of his opponent's armor, making the Hunter roar in pain. At this range the Hunter decides to take a risk and use its plasmatic magic, placing three shots in Aegis’ midsection. Then with a deafening roar, Aegis pushes his assailant off.

Aegis backs off a little, and decides this is the time to use his ultimate modifier. Aegis starts to shift, his forms grows to 12 feet tall and brightly colored feathers sprout out from his elbows, the back of his head, and his wings become completely covered in feathers, a glint lights in his eyes, and his claws and talons jut out further.

Now with renewed ferocity Aegis speaks the first words of the battle “It’s time to meet Quetzillos”, he swipes across and down with his right as his opponent blocks with his gauntlet. The attack knocks the gauntlet off of the Hunter’s arm. The Hunter starts to fire its plasma bolts at Aegis, now Quetzillos. He charges at his assailant, in this form Quetzillos’ speed and strength have more than doubled, the bolts either miss or just merely glance off his scales or his armor pieces. Soon Quetzillos is upon his opponent and starts slicing into the Hunter with his claws.

“ROUND ENDS, WINNER AEGIS”, the Arena announces, the two forms disperse, revealing the two players. Aegis nods to the loser, “Are you going to make this a regular thing?” Aegis asks the challenger “We’ll see, that top spot will be mine”, “Well at least make sure you beat her before you even attempt to beat me”, the challenger laughs then disconnects and exits the Arena gate. Aegis rolls his eyes, then disconnects, he goes through the Gate and then…

Darkness, total darkness. Aegis feels as if he floating, and completely unsure if his eyes are open or not, then a white figure appears to him,

Quote:”My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

Omni hands Aegis a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.”

“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.”

“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

The darkness fades away, and he find himself in a vast, empty white landscape, in front of a fountain.

The fountain is a granite ball sitting on top of a granite block, water gurgles through the, and makes the ball rotates slowly. The water gives the sphere a slight sheen. Aegis stands up and stretches,

‘Hmm who is this Omni? Is it Damir? Or is it Father?’ Aegis thinks to himself. His thoughts are interrupted by a bold exclamation

“You there, freeze! Under Camelotian law you are under arrest!”, Aegis can hear the subtle creaking of wood as a few bows are drawn. He turns slowly and sees about 15 men, their archers are a rough half of the group, with an even split of them being armed with crossbows or longbows, the others are armed with an assortment of blades, maces or spears.

“Well pardon me sir, I just got here”, Aegis says politely. Then he strikes, pressing his fingers together and his claws extend, making a point. He jabs downward with his right, hitting the commander on the temple. The strike knocked his helmet off and rendered the man unconscious, after this Aegis spins and grabs onto an archer's crossbow. Aegis lifts the crossbow with dazzling speed, hitting the archer’s nose. Aegis then kicks a spearman’s legs out from under them. As the person falls, Aegis punches them, knocking them out.

The assassin charged into the group of soldiers, or guards, whatever, to find there was a fight going on. The seemed to have surrounded some kind of dragon skinned man. Wait. Dragon-man. Erika pushed over the soldiers making her way to her enemy.

“Hey! That’s my game!” She screamed out, knocking soldiers and pedestrians to the ground. Aegis attention turned towards the blonde who had found her way into the battlefield. The stood opposite of each other by a distance of about fifteen feet. Aegis grinned at the tiny individual who stood before him. The assassin pointed at him and called out.

“Target located.” Aegis was confused, but whatever was happening, the guards seemed to have dispersed. They weren’t stupid enough to get in the middle of a fight between two primes. Erika balled her fist and readied herself for a fight. Aegis was hardly impressed. The five foot tall girl who looked as though her bones were made of twigs had just challenged him. Was she serious?

“Those soldiers were much more well armed than you, but whatever.” The girl returned a snide, disgusted look at the dragon man and spat on the floor.

“Underestimating your enemy can be fatal.” The vigilante said.

“Well, that was rather rude.” He said, “But, let’s say we get this over with.”

Aegis simply readied his claws and charged his opponent. As he got closer, he could hear the sound of music playing from the girl’s headphones, loud music. With a swift movement, his claws tore through the air at Erika’s face. Instead of dodging, she her hand reached out and grabbed his wrist mid swing. Although dumbfounded that this girl was able to stop his arm, he wasted no time to retaliate taking his other hand to slash at her face. Blood ran down Erika’s cheek, it launched into the air creating a spray of red liquid as Aegis’ hand caught her chin coming back up. As he reached in to strike again, the assassin hardly seemed disturbed by her wounds. She took hold of his arm with both hands, twisting his scaly exterior harshly. It was enough to make him cringe and miss his attack. Unable to get away from this demon-child’s death-sated grip, he took a heavy hit from her legs as she jumped into the air and drop kicked him. The dragon-man was sent flying back a few feet and Erika landed on her back.

“C’mon Ghidorah! I thought a King would be able to put up more of a fight!” Aegis might as well have had a question mark pop from his head. Who the hell is Ghidorah? The assassin by now had stood up and came at him for a second round. Aegis stood, ready to fight back if need be.

“My name is not Ghidorah!” He yelled out as his wings expanded and he took off into the air. “It’s Aegis!”

The vigilante watched him take off. She simply grinned and a pair of wings exploded from her back. The were covered in a black aura of fire. Aegis flew a little higher.

“And my name is Nancy. Nice to meet ya’.” She said mockingly. “Face your death with some courage.” Aegis was becoming irritated now. This was all pointless, this woman was obviously oblivious and probably unstable.

The girl chased after him, but as she closed in, Aegis delivered a heavy kick to her head. She let out a loud cry of pain.

“Gah fuck!” She screamed holding onto her head. “You’ll pay for that you little sh-” With another glance Erika stopped. Ghidorah’s skin was supposed to be golden, not this weird shade of blue.

“Why have you stopped?” The draconian asked still ready for anything.

“You aren’t Ghidorah.” She said simply lowering herself to the ground, followed suit by Aegis. Erika began to walk off without saying anything else, not even a sorry.

Well, that was a waste of time. That Aegis character just happened to look like Ghidorah, sort of. The details on his appearance were fuzzy until that dragon dude kicked her in the head. Hopefully nothing else will distract Erika from finding Ghidorah. It was the hardest part of fighting for her, finding the prey.

From the description of Ghidorah in the dataverse, he enjoys destroying pretty much anything within range. If that was true, someone from any one of these verses should have seen a wake of destruction that the mark would have left behind him. It took quite a few groups of people, but she finally found someone with some decent information. A group of merchants on their way to some Fort in the Frozen Fields to deliver a shipment of food. They had passed come across a destructively charred forest where the grass was either gone or charred black from the ashes of trees in Camelot. That hunch was enough for Erika.

The vigilante headed for the Kingdom’s gate where Ghidorah most likely awaited. It took awhile to get to the gate, as per usual. These long walks always annoyed Erika, but finally she was just a few feet in front of Camelot’s gate. With deep breath, she walked through the gate and into the realm of the Kingdom.

Quote:670/~6000 words, Erika has entered Camelot and is actively searching for Ghidorah.
