You'd think that as a maximum security prisoner Raven would be under surveillance at all hours. As the witching hour approached there was always a guard change and her cell fell into darkness for just under three minutes. Permanent isolation meant that her visual senses had been completely blinded by the lack of visible light. However, the newly forged war veteran could easily keep track of the footsteps above her by the distinct sound of polished footsteps upon the thick steel plating that hung above her. Rachel Roth had been found guilty of war crimes against the people of Earth. She couldn’t remember what had happened during the five years it had lasted, but she would always remember the look on Batman’s face when he sentenced her to death.
That day had arrived.
Everyone she had thought was friends were now perfectly okay with purposely killing her. This made absolutely no sense and it drove the young Roth mad as she spent her days restrained similarly to the Joker. She had been bound, straitjacketed, gagged, shackled, and suspended inside a bunker-like cell. Her meals consisted of an intravenous solution injected directly through the apparatus into her stomach.
She couldn’t even die of humiliation.
“Prisoner of War 864906. Execution to be carried out immediately. Sergeant! Seal that door!”
A faint whir from behind the wall filled her cell as the machinery required to snuff her life from existence spun up. For the first time in what felt like years, Raven began struggling with her bindings.
“It’ll all be over soon, Roth. Your debt will be paid.”
That’s what he had said!
Raven’s mind shot back to her last court appearance. After spending several years in a black site for empowered humans she had been recalled to appear before a military tribunal for final sentencing. That’s where Batman had decided her fate among her other friends. She had broken down into tears, screaming for Beast Boy to forgive her.
He had been killed and no one had bothered to tell her.
Robin had stopped the enforcers from hauling her away long enough to relay a message.
Your debt will be paid…
She wasn’t going to die without answers. What had she done? Why had she been cast to rot for so many years before being executed? The answers were out there and she needed to find them. Before she could call forth her powers a wrenching explosion ripped the very room in half spilling moonlight into the cell. Raven’s bound form was tossed against the only intact wall remaining as the very ground she lay on began to shatter and leech with translucent black energy.
A figure dropped down to her level and strode up to her. Raven could barely make out who it was.
“Robin?”
Just as a blade was swung for her neck she was enveloped in a swirling vortex of white and black particles. As Roth fell into the interdimensional hole the Earth she had known was ripped in twain by a black hole. Almost immediately everything went a brilliant white color. Her hearing was greeted by the sound of amused laughter. Rachel opened her eyes to realize that her vision had been restored, but that she was looking at some sort of faceless man.
I can’t move.
As the last of his words echoed Raven felt a sudden loss of gravity as she was dropped into a marble fountain. Inexplicably her body exploded into a fine shower of red and black particles. As they passed through the structure of the fountain, they coalesced into the shape of an unconscious Rachel Roth. A passing Stormtrooper radioed for assistance as he jogged over to see if the young woman was alright.

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
Omni hands you a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.
“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.
“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
