Secondary Saga II(?) Interest Check/General Discussion
#61
After receiving a bribe taking into consideration certain new factors, I have decided to participate as well.

As for which verse we should traverse in our search....I guess that depends on how 'straightforward' we want the adventure to be. If fairly so, I think the Ashen Steppes and Vasty Deep offer a variety of different experiences that could be used for the quest. I lean more towards the Ashen Steppes one. It hasn't been done yet, it's a little more unique, it's a good opportunity to explore the aftermath of the Volvagia raid and, in general, the Steppes are a place that can always use more activity.

If people would prefer a more unconventional adventure (though personally, I don't mind something more straightforward, since the original Secondary Saga was already fairly 'mind trippy'), then something like the Astral Realm would make for a very whacky and varied experience. And it's another verse that could use more activity.

I'm not sure how to feel about the Pale Moors one. On the one hand, it too offers a variety of experiences and is a fairly compelling place in general. But as much as I like the Silent Hill premise that forms the core of that Void Quest, I feel like isolation is a key part of the Silent Hill experience and thus doesn't work (as) well in a group setting.

Hmmm.... I do Agree with DL on this one. Didn't think about that. Don't think we could put our heads together to bring that isolation in a creative way? We were separated in groups for last Saga. Though the effect wouldn't be as great...Quite the conundrum indeed.

With the number of participants, I'm debating if we should break into parties as well. Easy to manage(As long as us DM's commit and keep in touch) and overall still a good experience.

Yeah, I'm putting my vote into Vasty, Astral, or Steppes.

*Quietly angry that ya heavily reccommended Ashen Steppes and Astral Realm ones, the two I wanted to do for Isabelle and Guu respectively.*

Though, honestly, I don't think the Astral Realm would work, it's intentionally written to be chaotic and random, it's hard to organize around. Plus, if we are treating these characters like Level 1 fresh from the pond, that's 2,000 om for Enlightenment which is a requirement for that particular quest.

And I don't know about the Ashen Steppes one either. You're going to send 20+ through a bunch of narrow caves?

And the Pale Moors one... I dunno, Silent Hills has a very personal aspect to it, marching an army of people into it at once might be interesting... though I don't see it working for us.

I'm going to change my vote to the Vasty. It would makes sense so many people would be needed, it takes a lot of people to man a ship! We wouldn't even need to be in groups, it's just crewmates on one vessel! Just think of the adventure! Stop to explore an island for supplies, fend off pirates and seafolk! Plunder treasure! YAR! It was heavily considered for the first SS for a reason. xD

Bonus cannidate: Endless Dunes. There is a risk of endless posts about thirst and heatstroke, but this could also be potentially awesome!

This might be a good idea, along the lines of a story it could be pretty easy in the PM and VD (like taking separate ships or having a scouting party in the moors).

I know for the first seondary saga we were able to get the word limit waived on the quest. Not sure if that's the case anymore.

If it's not decided already, I'd say we do Frozen Fields. Haven't seen that mentioned, but come on! We get to go through a frigid field of ice, climb a mountain, and meet dragons! What's not cool about that?

Since DV is off the table, I'd be up for VD.

The Moors is still my preferred one, but if Sammy can't do this then I won't be joining either. Sin and Maggot are a package deal, yo.

Hey, I finished my character sheet for Urotsuki. I'm not sure where to put it, so I'll just drop it here.

Character name: Urotsuki

Character source: Yume 2kki (Yume Nikki fangame)

Character history: Uro was unintentionally summoned by Madotsuki during a fitful dream, although not even Mado knows why or how she knew the Secondary. Confused and slightly upset, she fled Coruscant and arrived in the Endless Dunes, where her skillful wielding of a chainsaw she had found and repaired within the desert, as well as her knowledge of mechanics, landed her into the good graces of a bandit group. She currently works with them, occasionally chasing after bounties for extra cash.

Currently she is investigating a job offer in the Vasty Deeps that entails joining a crew and traveling into uncharted territory.

Physical Description:
 [Image: just_gals_bein_pals_by_muuugi-d94spam.png]
(ignore Madotsuki in the pic, she isn't proportional)
Urotsuki is a large woman, standing at about 6' 4". She is well-muscled and bulky with vibrant purple eyes. Her dirty-blond hair is usually messy, and hangs no lower than her shoulders.

Stats:
Stat Upgrade 1 (1000)

ATK: 5
DEF: 5
SPD: 0
TEC: 1

Starting Proficiencies: Physical (1000), Ranged (1000)

Starting Powers: n/a

Starting Moves:

Chainsaw (Physical): 300 OM
A surprisingly large chainsaw, with a three-and-a-half foot blade that's twelve inches wide. It's very heavy, potentially being too heavy to lift unless you're strong. Urotsuki can wield it more easily than most, but it's still unwieldy. It's not a stealthy weapon, taking about four seconds to rev up, all the while, roaring loudly until it's shut off. Despite this, it's pretty intimidating, and its sheer heft can break through concrete.

It's been modified to run off of any natural materials as well as its normal fuel source, although it's less efficient than using actual gasoline. On a full tank of gasoline, the chainsaw can run for about five minutes. Using other fuels, it'll run for 2.5 minutes.

AK-47 (Ranged): 300 OM
A slightly modified AK-47. Takes about two seconds to withdraw from its holster. Cartridges carry 40 bullets, and the gun fires five bullets per second. Decently strong for a firearm. Urotsuki carries five cartridges.

Brass Knuckles (Physical): 300 OM
A pair of brass knuckledusters that Urotsuki uses when she needs to be fast. It's not all that strong when compared  to her other weapons, but it's quick and easy to use, and can remain on her fists while she's using other weapons.

I guess we're doing these.

Character name: Oliver "Sticky" Richards

Character source: Original Character; Marvel Zombies

Character history: Sticky doesn't know who summoned him - he ate the dude that did. Sticky was one of the first victims of the zombie virus, being a student at the Xavier School. His mutation was a minor healing factor (as in healing large wounds, but unable to grow whole body parts), along with the ability to spit an incredibly strong adhesive which can reattach any limbs he loses with little success. Because of the healing factor constantly working against the zombie virus, he barely heals faster than other folks. His healing factor also helped resist the psychosomatic hunger for flesh, even if he did indulge in the occasional human tendon. Still horrified by his zombification, he does his best not to consume human flesh and is for the most part able to resist his cravings.

Physical Description: He was once a skinny Indian-American (as in actual India) teenager. Now, he looks like the typical zombie, if a little less undead-looking due to him slightly healing the dying flesh constantly. He wears a green T-shirt and jeans, as well as carrying an old messenger bag, stained with blood.

ATK: 1
DEF: 5
SPD: 3
TEC: 1

Starting Proficiencies: Physical (1000)

Starting Powers: Survival (2000), Basic Regeneration (1300)

Starting Moves:
Knife-Pipe Scythe (300) (Physical)
Sticky's weapon of choice, it takes 1 second to draw it. It's a rusty pipe about 60 cm long, with a 20 cm long kitchen knife glued to one end using Sticky's power, blade pointed outward. The result is a makeshift tiny scythe-like weapon. It does a little damage, but it takes very little stamina to use.

Bite (300) (Physical)
Sticky bites savagely at his target for good damage. He uses about 5 seconds to deal with the flesh in his mouth, or even the absence of any flesh. This takes quite some stamina, and the short range of the Move renders it essentially a finishing move.

Detective Chimp will be joining you all.

I'll be making a secondary for this, probably, but that depends on one thing. When are we planning to do this? I'm going out of town this week, and wouldn't be able to do this unless we do it sometime after.

After DA, I believe. Unrelated, I'm thinking of making Lucifer from "The Wicked and the Divine" my secondary.
