Pathfinder, anyone?

I've got a little preliminary application here, to let you guys help design just HOW this gets played.

To answer a few questions before they become a common occurance...

• I AM accepting players who have not played D&D before.
  
• If you do not like Pathfinder, remember that the rules are mainly for classes and races, and even then it is loosely based. Consider it an outline.
  
• Please don't request something way out there... like a homebrew you found on the internet that's totally broken...
  
• Yes, I accept specialists, as well as "all rounders." Jacks of all trades are fine, Masters of All are NOT. I'm looking at you, Cheese Rogue/Sorcerer/Druid Sandwich.
  
• Most information listed on d20 Pathfinder SRD is allowed, though we will discuss more on that when I know how many people we have.
  

So the methods of play are as followes:

1. Secondaries. I don't know much about how these guys progress, but apparently they can do whatever a Prime can, just... less... effective? Secondary from D&D Pathfinder should be relatively cheep and I can canoodle a way to bring in the party without having to find an IC reason for your main to do so.
   
2. Prime Slots. I don't know how Prime Slots level up, but if it is interesting to enough people, we'll have a deeper look into it.
   
3. Alts, anyone?
   
4. Completely seperate, prolly a thread in the Arcade.
   

Pro's and cons?
1 and 2 gain OM, but that means that we'll be heavily limited on what we can do based on Omniphysics, adding a level of complexity to the intigration of our game. However, it would be rather easy to build a roaming storyline that takes the group through the various verses to complete non-faction quests, and perhaps even turn the group into their own faction later down the road.

3 would allow us to use pure Pathfinder rules for class and race, but sadly the Arcade does not reward OM.

4 would give the most benefit, but sadly this would limit who all would want to give up a character slot for a PC that is effectively limited in growth by the DM (me.)

The mechanics of Pathfinder to Omniphysics are like so;

I will award EXP. You can gain moves and/or powers based on equipment, class and racial abilities for your level. This means that in between levels, you will be accumulating OM by writing, which means upon leveling up you should have plenty of OM to accumulate class specials. Fighters will be making great use of Skill boosts, Wizards will prolly have tons of moves for their spell list, and so on.[/spoiler]

What do you mean by 'prime slots'?

Experience with D&D in general? Some experience setting up 5e games, little experience actually playing said games.
Opinion of the Pathfinder ruleset? Never heard of Pathfinder.
Desired method of play? Secondaries, I guess.
Least desirable method of play? Alts. That's a lot of value there.
Desired class? Druid or Wizard. Probably more Druid.

Experience with D&D in general?
- DMed a few one-shots. Played weekly for about a year. Maybe 200 hours or so, tops. 80% of the was 5e, the rest was homebrew, a Star Wars system, and maybe 3 or 4 sessions of Pathfinder.
Opinion of the Pathfinder ruleset?
- If everything is broken then nothing is.
Desired method of play?
- I'd rather do a proper play by post game on Mythweavers like the one Tearen was doing. That's built for rolling and RPG stuff like that.
Lease desirable method of play?
- It's not that it's undesirable to use the OV for a Pathfinder inspired campaign, using either secondaries or personal NPC Primes. I just think that's too far from D&D to appeal to people who want D&D, and also you'd basically be running your own mini Dark Data - which would be hard. I just don't think the regular posting requirements for it to continue would be easily followed by most. That said, I'm up for trying. At least over this summer. Also, using an alt slot is a nope. Using NPC primes is probably the best option.
Desired class?
- Maybe a druid? Or rogue? Haven't played either before.
Desired race?
- Halfling maybe. Or an elf.

• I'm not really sure what you're exactly trying to do here. Your opening post reads like the main introduction was cut out. From the looks of it, I'd assume you're trying to convert Pathfinder rules to fit the Omniverse, and run a campaign based on it. Handing out OM to NPC primes and stuff like that.
  
• What word count do you expect us to be having on average per post?
  
• How time intensive do you expect it to be?
  
• What verse(s) do you plan on doing the campaign in?
  
• Any brief on the actual campaign in general? Like, are we saving a random town or just slaying monsters or looting stuff?

I only suggested doing it on here in hopes that it would get a few more people interested. You are right that it's a big change from what I'm looking for and in all honesty I'd rather play it on a third party site.

TBH I don't bank on really high wordcount. It'll be everyone controlling their own character in combat, true D&D style, so it'll go waaay down from the near novels we can write here. There's also the issue of rolling dice and setting up the DC's without constant back and forth from myself. I have yet to figure this out. This was mainly to see who would be interested.

Time-wise, pretty leisurely. Maybe a couple posts per day, since they'd be rather short. For that matter, if everyone had Discord, we could just play by text on the go.

Verse-wise, it would probably be a wondering campaign if it were based in OV. No holds barred, and all that.

I have a few ideas for a campaign, but I'm holding out till I have enough people interested to put campaign setting to something of a group decision. Hammer out some rough details, then I'll fill in the blanks behind the scenes.

I can update every day, pretty frequently most often. Needed though, I'm not sure... Combat will be the most regulated, as well as looting/searching/etc. You don't just FIND a +2 Flaming Bastard Sword of Deceit...

I have no idea how long a campaign will last. Till we get bored, possibly.

Experience with D&D in general? Barely played, but I've been reading the rules for years, fantasizing playing it one day.

Opinion of the Pathfinder ruleset? Love it!

Desired method of play? I'd prefer the arcade just so I can experience another world that isn't the Omniverse! But I'm receptive to the idea of playing as secondaries.

Least desirable method of play? Not giving up NPC Prime slot for this, and they can't level far as I know.

Desired class? Either a Witch or a Scald. The latter is preferred, but it depends what kind of group we get.

Desired race? The witch would be a ratfolk, I'll PM you about the Scald (spoilers)

How would we do dice rolling on the site?

If we decide not to use the Omniverse ruleset, we may do it offsite. If I get enough people interested, I could more or less design a site with enough references and an on-board dice roller to help with the "did I make it" decision.

Experience with D&D in general? Good couple years now. Played a bunch of 5e, and some 3.5, as well as a few games of Pathfinder. Got a fair bit of experience on both sides of the DM screen, so I kinda know what I'm doing, if nothing else.
Opinion of the Pathfinder ruleset? It's smooth enough. My best summation would be "it's like 3.5 but less bloated and complicated".
Desired method of play? Gonna have to say completely separate.
Lease desirable method of play? Anything that would involve the omniverse ruleset. Way too complicated.
Desired class & Race? Not a clue. I'll need to look into the options on the SRD when I get more powerful/stable internet in (hopefully) a few days.
