Astral Realm VQ Research (post your dreams!)
#1
I plan to have Guu go on the Astral Realm void quest. For the uninitiated, that's the one where you have to hop from dream to dream trying to find the one dream that contains the void gate. Because of this, the quest allows for an episodic feel.

While the dreams I delve into will become plot specific eventually, my plan for a huge chunk of the quest is to take the most common nightmares out there and write individual short stories about each of them.

I'm already making a list of them and researching their common meanings-
Falling/Flying - life problems with relationships, work, or elsewhere, let go.

Teeth falling out - loss of confidence

Public nudity/underwear - Vulnerability, anxiety. Big life changes

Test taking - Stay alert

Dying - End it already!

Meeting a Celebrity - Qualities are vindicated

Being Chased - FACE YOUR FEARS!

Partner is Cheating - Distrust

Late for something - Overwhelmed

Being Pregnant - Desire for something more

Out-of-control vehicle/Trapped in car sinkingc- No control in life

Visions of the dead - Can't let go

Can't save loved ones (t-rex)

Zombie apocolypse - Negative attachments, rapid changes

Eaten by rats - being taken apart, hurt

Fires and Earthquakes - Car trapped in tornado

Wrestling match

Impromtu brain surgery at parties

Horse flies biting heads off/Decapitation

Kiddnapping/Escaping child murderers

Train travelling in a land of increasing disaster

Literally the movie "The Butterfly Effect" - regrets

Being disabled but handling it well - Good job

Someone is in the house - Paranoia

Dispointing family
If you guys have thought of ones I haven't thought of, post here!

Also, if you guys would like to share your dreams with me, that would help immensely! Give me some inspiration. ^^

Who knows, your imput could go into the final product!

Visions of dead loved ones or ex-partners: I'm gonna guess this one means an inability to let go, or regret.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!

My wife has a lot of dreams that involve not being able to save loved ones from danger because they won't listen to her. Latest example: A t-rex was knocking sky scrapers down and killing people. She insisted that they all had to get to the sewers. Everyone ignored her and said their building was safe. Everyone died.

Zombie apocalypse - negative attachments, going through rapid changes in life (it's the end of the world, everything's falling apart, etc), fear of losing family members to death.

Being eaten by rats - other people taking you apart, hurting you.

I always have nightmares about earthquakes and fires. Not sure why and I've never looking into the supposed meaning behind them, but they can get kind of intense. Usually I get trapped in my house or someplace familiar and after a bit I wake up.

I also have a semi-common one where I'm in a car and there's a tornado on the horizon and I'm trying my damndest to drive away from it, but I can't because the wind is too strong.

My most recent dream involved me "taking someone down" but doing it in a way that wouldn't harm them. Lots of wrestling moves. I felt very Aang.

I don't tend to have nightmares, I only ever have adventures.

That being said, there is one nightmare I had when I was about 6 or 7 that just about scarred me for life. I don't remember a whole lot of it, just that a bunch of adults were talking and it was sunset, and I was watching them. Then something happens and all of a sudden on of the adults is kneeling on the ground having their brain slowly and surgically removed by some unseen force.

My dream self turned around and buried his face in the sheets of my bed which just happened to be there. To this day I get easily squicked when something involves injuring or physically messing with brains.

I don't...know what it meant.

Confusedtare:
And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued

That is VERY unsettling. What.

Speaking of baffling dreams. When I was that age I had a dream that there were giant horseflies going around biting people's heads off. It was surprisingly graphic, and ended with my own head being bitten off and then... total, empty darkness, I can't even describe it but it felt like there was nothing but cold space where my head was, even after I woke up.

Hmm, there was a nightmare I had once where I was in the back of the car, with a younger sister (I don't have one for the record), and the two driving in the front, a mother and a father I guess or people that kidnapped us, I don't actually know. What I do know was that they were planning to kill us, and I knew it. I also knew they had guns, and I was quite a bit younger than I am now.
I was sitting back there trying to think of how to escape and get help, but I also knew that I had to be careful cause if I failed, it wouldn't just be me dying.

Surprisingly, I was fairly calm and emotionally disconnected, so I wasn't feeling anxiety or fear from this particular dream, but it was definitely a bit strange. I don't normally have dreams like those, usually I just get bizarre and random scenes and tid bits, nothing quite like a bad horror movie like that.

My only suggestion would be to see which PCs and NPCs would be cool with you cameoing in their dreams. It'd be awesome for Guu to enter a dream wondering who it could be and see Enel's nightmare about making out with Ganondorf.

Oh one of the dreams you should visit should be Palpatine's dream. It would be nice to see what the ruler of Coruscant thinks about us when he isn't public.

Now this story is something I can't really place in anything you have in your list so ill put it down.

This takes place where some major disaster happens and the only people I see are my mother, father, and my sister. We got on a train that used gas (though it was like a monorail train.) And it drove off stopping at different places where the destruction just got worse and worse. First my sister left, then my dad, and then my mom who payed for the furthest stop down the line. My dream ended when I got to a track that was busted and the train stopped for some unknown reason and just didn't move any further.

Confusedkeptic:  I swear that was what happened but I don't know why I remembered it clearly (usually don't have dreams)

I once had a dream that I could revisit moments of my life and relive them, changing what I want. It became surprisingly long and intense, and I'd tell people about this ability and I got into a fight with a friend about it being morally questionable before I went back and avoided the argument by just not showing up that day. Woke up regretting shutting the friend up.

On the one hand, I got to relive the best moments of my life and make them even better. On the other hand, I went back and fixed all the shitty decisions I made. Probably signifies a mix of regrets and a fear of the future and the things it might hold, with a pinch of wishes for thing to go back to the good times.

Also, last night I had this dream that something had gone horribly wrong in a surgery and I was crippled from the waist down. I remember crying at first. But then I got this dope wheelchair. So I was actually okay with it and even posted on Facebook "Back from the dead. Legs didn't get the memo" and posted a goofy selfie with my dope reclinable wheelchair. Probably shows an initial fear of the surgery I'm about to have in 2 days and then realizing it's not a big deal.

Thanks so much guys! ^^ I've got so many ideas from these! Also, I've added everything to the list!

While I may have enough to work with, if anyone else likes to share, I'd love to hear them! <3
In fact, I'll go share some of mine.

I don't dream much anymore now-a-days. My most vivid nightmares involve disapointing my folks, which considering my current position in life, is a common worry of mine.

My greatest fear however, is someone breaking into my home, and I get a lot of nightmares about that. Just the occasional dream of someone walking around just out of sight. Or, in worse case scenarios, someone standing over my bed watching me, probably with a knife.

This is a tangeant, but I honestly have a huge phobia involving people watching me sleep. When I was in middle school, we had a cousin over that I had never met before. We got along at first, but... well. The next day when I woke up, he was in my room, watching me sleep and apparently he had been there for a while. Yeah, that's been a great fear of mine since and I often keep the door locked because of that, also why it crops up in my nightmares from time to time.

Oh yeah, another type of dream that I don't get as much anymore: they future premonition dream!

Yeah, I'd have dreams that perfectly predict a future event, but all the events for me have been mandane things like running out of tortillas or something, and I'd always forget the dream and only remember it again after the event happens so it's kind of pointless in the end.

Probably the biggest thing I've prophesied was the time our pet cockatiel laid an egg. We've always assumed the bird was a male so no one was expecting her to drop one, and yet I experienced it in a dream months prior.

But, it apparently runs in my family. One time my mom had a dream my dad would break his neck at Jujitsu practice. She told my dad and that probably helped mitigate the damage when he broke his neck in Jujitsu practice the next day (he healed.)
