You may have noticed that I've been kind of a ghost the last week or so.
For some reason, the end of the year (school year -- I'm a HS teacher for those who don't know me) has been just a little bit TOO taxing for me. I think it's also because I'm finishing up my Masters right now, which has accelerated my pace of 'teacher burnout.' I'm also going to be moving apartments on the 31st and have a final work evaluation in the next week. It's my crunch time, and unlike last year, I am feeling 3 to 4 times more crunched. I very nearly lost my shit at a coworker earlier this week.
Those who know me know that I take these events very seriously. I'm not going to half-ass this because I don't want a reputation for sloppiness or half-heartededness (I think that's not a real word, my bad).
Because of that, I'm going to push the start date one week ahead to the weekend of the 9th/10th.
The deadline for my final grad school paper is the 9th. The deadline for teaching new content in my classes is June 9th. Essentially, after that date I will be able to relax (for real) as students will be completing end-of-year projects, taking end-of-year exams, and working on grade recovery before the start of summer school.
I apologize for this inconvenience for those of you who may have limited time in the coming weeks/month, but I hope you'll understand.
