This New World
#1
Cole looked around him, awestruck by the technological marvels of Coruscant. There were skyscrapers, easily taller than anything back in his world, with flying cars and other vehicles soaring through the sky. There were people of all different species, humans and non-humans alike. Him and Walker had faced some guards coming into Coruscant, but as they had no bounty and seemed safe, they were let in, and how glad they were. This city was great, and so, they hoped, were its people. The two of them looked around, unsure of where to go first.
"Look, over there," Cole said, "There's a hotel. We should probably go there first, to get ourselves a place to stay while we're here."
"Perhaps, but before we do that, we'd need money. There's a bank just a bit farther down, and we'll need to get some kind of currency," Walker argued.
"I suppose that's true, so, let's go then," Cole agreed. He had brought in with them the motorcycle he had summoned back in The Nexus, and jumped in, Walker getting into the sidecar as he did. They quickly drove down the road, reaching the bank in a matter of minutes.
"Cole, I believe we have a problem. I can't summon things, I tried on the way here. So I can't summon another bike. So if it gets stolen, we have no way of knowing whether you could summon us another," Walker said as Cole stopped the motorcycle, pointing out a slight flaw.
"That is true, but if I can summon this vehicle with Omnilium, it isn't much of a stretch to turn that vehicle back into Omnilium, right? it's worth a shot, whether it does or doesn't work." Cole suggested. Without waiting for Walker to agree, Cole closed his eyes again, starting a similar state as the one he was in when he summoned the motorcycle. But this time, he had his hands on the vehicle, and rather than envisioning the vehicle appearing, he envisioned it disappearing, whatever energy used to create it going back within him. After what seemed like a short time Cole opened his eyes and saw that the vehicle was gone, but he knew it wasn't merely the seconds he thought it was. If the summoning was any reference, more time had actually passed.
"I suppose you were correct then," Walker commented.

"Yes, I suppose I was. Now, done to business." Cole walked inside of the bank, looking around. Oddly, there was a short line for everything, at least, compared to what Cole would expect. Him and Walker walked up to a counter labeled "Registration". They waited in line for a few minutes, before getting to the front.
"Hello, what can I do for you today?" asked a robot at the counter.
"Uh, me and my friend here need to get whatever currency you have."
"Creating two cards. What names shall be put down?"
"Cole Tyson and uh..."
"Bro'Dee Walker," Walker interjected.
"Cards successfully made. Is money to be transferred onto these accounts?"

"Yeah, just a minute." Cole began to focus, summoning a small pile of gold coins. "Please divide the amount gained from this between the accounts."
"Okay, transfer successful," the android said, handing both of them small metal pieces that projected a holographic card with both of their names and amount of credits- the currency of that world. Both Cole and Walker swiftly left the building, for the line was growing long behind them.
"So, then. I suppose we should just try to figure out what it's like here, get the lay of the land."
"Yes, I suppose you're right. Let's go, then."

Cole walked down the street, Walker following close behind them. They had just left the bank, and were looking for something to do. Suddenly, as they were walking, a man reached out an arm from an alleyway.
"Hello, my friends," he said in a thick accent. "You want organ? Cheap and fresh!" Cole looked puzzled, and then the man pulled open his coat, revealing it to be stuffed full of organs. He nearly threw up at the site of them, trying to contain his gagging. Quickly, a group of what seemed like soldiers, wearing white and black armour with large guns walked up, pushing the man against a wall.
"Halt, citizen. You are under arrest for the illegal sale of bodily parts and fluids, unlicensed surgery, and improper use of tweezers. Stay silent and come with us."
"What? You cannot do this! Do not take me! STOP!"
"Shut up," one of the soldiers said, kicking the man as they walked.
"That's... horrible!" Cole exclaimed as they walked. The soldiers continued to walk, laughing as they roughly took the man away.
"I can certainly understand your disgust at the way they handle that man. Though he certainly shouldn't have been allowed to sell those things."
"Maybe. But no one should be treated like that."
"I agree there." The duo continued to walk down the street, searching for something to do, or someone to help them there. So far, this new world had not been good, at all.

For better or for worse the Quarterback of Chaos was back on the world of Coruscant. While normally he couldn't be troubled to come to this world, even if someone paid him Warren had found out he had a distinct lack of enough components to build devices that he had been thinking about. As there were Primes out there that could warp reality or do other heinous actions to him because of how powerful they were it only seemed fitting that he level the playing field. This was why he had come through to the world of Coruscant. Here on Coruscant a lot of places possessed advanced enough technology that through the study of such might lead to a breakthrough for him about what it was that he needed equipment wise. So far he possessed the "Sword of Conquest" which was a formidable weapon in and of its own right. While it was true the sword was powerful he didn't like to rely on it as a primary weapon. Over enchanted items, Warren preferred the comforting embrace of science and advanced technology. Somehow he'd have to get rid of that sword in the future because it wasn't his style truthfully. Noticing Saint Walker nearby, as well as Cole Warren thought about it. If Cole was with Saint Walker, then perhaps Saint Walker and Cole were both Blue Lanterns. If this was the case, perhaps he didn't need to steal the technology from the Endless Dunes in order to make the weapon he was thinking of building for himself a reality. After all, if he could get his hands on one of their rings for even a short amount of time? The possibilities of what such technology could enable him to do were virtually limitless. Unfortunately, he doubted they'd share the rings with him because of one simple fact. While they aligned themselves with the side of good, Warren took a different path in life. Every hero needed a villain to oppose them and back home it was the cards that he had been dealt in life. The role of a villain had been practically guaranteed by that failed experiment.

"It has been a while, Saint Walker," said Wild Card as he examined the both of them. They probably wouldn't recognize him without his armor on but Warren was wearing a gray and black business suit with a purple tie and purple trim that he had made for himself. While not the most formal of outfits it should at least prevent the Storm Troopers from arresting him should he have to go anywhere formal. Warren looked at the both of them. Those rings were certainly something and he really wanted to see what they were capable of. In a controlled environment study of the powers possessed by both of them did seem intriguing to him. It was certainly an opportunity he'd take if given the chance, even though right now he wouldn't have such an opportunity.

"So tell me. What would it take for me to borrow one of your rings?" asked Warren.  "I'd love to dissect them and see exactly how they work so I could create something similar for my own purposes."
#4
Cole and Walker looked up as a man walked towards them. Neither of them recognised the man, yet he walked as though expecting some response out of one of them. He addressed Walker, first, saying it had been a while.
"I don't believe we have met. Who are you?" Walker asked, looking puzzled.
"Wait. I recognise that voice. Are you Ricky's boss? I remember meeting you, before I.. er... blanked out. Warren, wasn't it?" Cole pondered. Though he may not always seem intelligent, he remembered voices, and names. Warren then asked if he could borrow one of their rings, to study.
"Why would we give one to you? These are valuable, and complex. For all we know, these are the only ones in the Omniverse!"
"Cole, calm down," Walker interrupted, speaking more kindly. "Remember, advanced Blue Lanterns can replicate our rings?" Walker turned to Warren. "Though I feel the need to tell you, our rings are powered by emotion. Hope, specifically. To keep the strength of your ring, you must keep hope in your heart." Cole grumbled as Walker spoke, somewhat bitter. To become part of the Corps, and thus get his ring, he had had to go through great trials, even becoming a super hero. And this guy was able to get his ring without any trouble? Sure, it was only for research, but still, he should've at least have overcome something in his past. While Cole was thinking about this, Walker was busy summoning a duplicate ring. He pointed his ring at the opposite hand's palm, watching as the ring appeared slowly. It was light blue, with the black Blue Lantern insignia at the front of it. Walker held his hand out to Warren, allowing him to take the ring. Perhaps Cole didn't agree with Walker, but Warren had gotten a ring, which was certainly good for him.
#5
Warren resisted the urge to laugh maniacally at how easy it had been for him to obtain the Blue Lantern Ring. Still, for him, the ring wouldn't work as he didn't have hope like these two did in his heart. Saint Walker didn't recognize him, which warranted an investigation down the line when he had the time to do so. Analyzing the ring would be easy once he got himself an HQ on Coruscant that he could rely on. Should he get such a place he could abandon his place in the Tangled Green. The mosquitos and other problems of the Verse made it a place that he no longer wished to call his home, unfortunately. This meant he would have to save up all of his power in order to relocate himself to Coruscant where he could begin his plans for the Omniverse anew.

"So the Rings rely on the power of hope? What if someone were to try to change the power source? Would such be an allowable thing, or would it fail?" asked Warren now curious. If the ring could only use Hope there was no point in him keeping it because it wouldn't serve his plans in the long run. His hopes right now were that he'd someday get revenge on those Storm Troopers who had hurt him like they had. And on the Gryphon- Griffon/Griffin... however you pronounced it riders in Camelot as well. Of course, he did have one other hope that he could one day regain all of his abilities that Omni had oh so rudely ripped from his body and that he could kill the smiling buffoon. It was a matter of self-preservation in the last part. "If the power source change wouldn't work, I don't need the ring."
#6
Cole and Walker listened as Warren asked about the power source. Cole saw something on his face, perhaps arrogance, which made him rather suspicious. But the look did not last long before Warren went back to looking... well, like a normal citizen of Coruscant would. Warren asked whether he could change the power source of the ring, to which Cole scowled. This man clearly didn't want the ring to spread Hope, nor did he have Hope in his heart, as all Blue Lantern Corps members did. If he did, he wouldn't bother asking.
"No, you cannot," Walker answered Warren, looking to see if this disappointed him. Walker considered telling him about the other Lantern Corps; they had basically the same design of power ring as the Blue Lantern Corps, but with different emotions powering them. And all power rings had, ultimately, been based off of the Green Lantern power rings, so it was possible that through examination of the science behind the ring and the emotional spectrum, one could make a ring that operated under a different emotion, or none at all. But to tell Warren this would simply be enabling him to make a poor choice, perhaps leading him down a path of Rage, or Fear. Certainly not paths one should take. At least, that's how Walker felt. Cole did not share his feelings.
"There are other rings, though," Cole interjected, "They're powered by other emotions; Rage, Fear, Greed, Love, Compassion, even Willpower. You may not be able to change that ring specifically, but you may be able to use it to make your own ring."
"Although, of course, I trust you would make the right decision, and not choose an emotion that would be harmful to anyone." Walker glared at Cole. It should have been obvious that Walker didn't want the man to know about the other rings, not yet. And though Walker didn't claim to be better than any other man, he was far more experienced than Cole. Certainly more capable of determining whether a stranger should know of the boundless power of the emotional spectrum. But, whether he was right or not, Warren knew of the power rings now. Nothing Walker thought would change that.
#7
So there were other emotions that could provide him the advantages of power,  even if he couldn't wield the power of Hope per say. Hope was an emotion that required one look to the bright side of things, and avoid sinking into despair. Yet here in the Omniverse, despair was one of the things Warren had experienced plenty of. Bad memories of his time on Coruscant came back into his mind because of what had happened here. Shudders of phantom pain went through his body as he mentally revisited the beatings that had occurred by the hand of those Storm Troopers when he had been cleaning the vehicles as per his "community service" assignment that had been forced onto him by them.

"So one doesn't need an emotion to use a ring because if they are able to study the Hard Light Technology which was the only thing I wanted your ring for, to be honest, they could create their own variant that doesn't need the Emotional Spectrum in order to create items."

It was true Warren didn't want the powers of a Lantern as they likely had duties associated with them that he'd been unable to fulfill in any variant or requirement. After all, he was no good guy. The mere thought of him being a hero was not something that he liked to imagine. Presently he knew he didn't have what it took to play the role of a hero. Probably he never was going to be capable enough to become one on a suitable enough level to meet the needs of such a power if he ever gained it.

Will, Hope, Rage, Fear,  Compassion and Avarice and Love. The emotions of the Emotional Spectrum and if what Cole had told him was proven to be true they all possessed power that rivaled that of a Blue Lantern Ring. Studying such was definitely going to be in his best interests so he could achieve power that would allow him to conquer his opponents. No trace of such was allowed by him to be revealed on his face, however.
"You know Saint Walker, in the past I encountered another version of you. It's probably why you don't remember me."

He'd look over at Cole for a moment.  "Catch."   He'd toss the ring back to him and Saint Walker.

"While I would like to use this, it would be better if my own creation were not based on the Emotional Spectrum. After all, I'm not going to steal someone else's work to make my own ideas a reality here in the Omniverse," said Warren. "I do at least have some ideas now which is more than I did before. Thank you for the ideas by the way," said Warren.

"There's another reason that I'm rejecting the ring, however. Jewelry isn't my style."  He'd say as he looked at the both of them to see their reaction to what he had done. There was another reason that he had rejected the ring, however. It was a quite simple one actually and that was that Warren knew he wasn't worthy of the power of a Blue Lantern Ring. Or any of the rings for that matter, as he played the role of the bad guy like he always had. His skills did need to improve before he could consider himself a true villain.

"Figuring out the Hard Light Technology's going to be a pain, but it's one of the reasons I'm here on Coruscant." said Warren. Partially true as he was also here on Coruscant to relocate his base once he'd done enough stuff to get himself to suitable levels of power here. If he were to relocate his base he could take advantage of the Storm Troopers rather than be assaulted by them. After all being attacked here would mean the Storm Troopers were going to turn on his enemies instead of him. Who would be stupid enough to attack him in such a case?
#8
The Blue Lantern duo listened as Warren asked about the Hard Light technology, saying that perhaps there wasn't an emotion necessary.
"That's not true!" Cole replied angrily. "The emotional spectrum is what gives the rings their power! Without it, it's just jewelry!"
"Calm down, brother. While back in our world that was true, it may be different here in the Omniverse." Cole grumbled. Something about Warren was off-putting, like he was hiding something. And Walker kept jumping to his defence! Warren went on to say that in the past he had met another version of Walker, like some clone. Cole looked surprised at this. If Warren had met some other Walker, that meant that perhaps that Walker was still in the Omniverse somewhere, or at the least the person that summoned him. And that, maybe, meant there were other Blue Lanterns here. Walker looked equally surprised, but somewhat less pleased. To him, it meant that there was another Walker here, perhaps, which would be potentially catastrophic if the two of them met. Warren looked at Cole, throwing the ring Walker had made back. Walker merely stuck his arm out, the ring falling into his palm. Warren said he would've liked the ring better were it not powered by the emotional spectrum, a sentiment that Cole found dishonourable. If one couldn't trust in their own emotions, what could they trust in? Walker merely felt neutral towards this. Without using an emotion, there was less of a chance of the there was less of a chance of a negative one, like Fear, or Rage, taking control of him, but it also wouldn't spread any positive emotion, like Hope, or Compassion. Warren gave another reason though, simply because he didn't like jewelry. Cole's anger had been building up this whole time, and now, it had gone too far.
"DON'T MOCK THE BLUE LANTERNS!" he screamed.
"Cole, calm down."
"NO! He... HE'S MOCKING US!"
"Cole, you were made a Blue Lantern for your Hope, not Rage. Think, Cole, he's not done anything to harm us. His remarks were only remarks; you need to remember. Keep your anger in check. It may be a beast, but it must be tamed, you must be in control of it, not it of you."
"Right... sorry, Warren." Perhaps this would anger Warren. Perhaps not. But regardless, Cole didn't listen at all when Warren explained that coming to Coruscant had partially been to learn about the Hard Light construction. Cole felt, simply, too ashamed.

"Apology accepted."

Truthfully Warren didn't forgive Cole for the remarks that he had made or the anger he possessed. For now, however, he had to play nice with the young Blue Lantern. After all the individual could be very useful to him down the line. It wasn't wise to alienate individuals who could prove to be useful to him, later on, should he come to need Cole.

"Just so you know, I'm not mocking the Blue Lanterns. While it is true your abilities work for you, one of the other reasons I am rejecting the ring is that I am not a good fit for Hope. Truthfully, I'm not going to mess around with the Emotional Spectrum at all because it is too likely to blow up quite literally in my face."

This was true. Should he make one wrong move with tampering with something like that, the chances of him getting beaten up by Storm Troopers again and being forced to do their bidding once more was very high. Due to such, Warren was not going to even allow himself to take the risks associated with attempting to use the Emotional Spectrum to power anything. Rage was not an emotion that he wanted to even begin associating himself with. If what he theorized mentally was true about the emotion it was volatile and explosive. Given the last explosion he'd been directly responsible for due to a mistake had led to his own pain, he didn't want to even try to cause another.

Hope was an emotion that required one to be Optimistic, and care for others. Given Warren wasn't optimistic, and didn't care for others much well such an emotion was out of the question for him. Will Power perhaps... no. He wasn't going to fool with the Emotional Spectrum at all because of the risks associated with such. The act of doing so was probably going to bring the ire of Palpatine down on him if he so much as attempted to create anything on Coruscant. Yet there had to be some information somewhere in this world that he could find. Hard Light Technology couldn't be that much of a pain to create surely. After all, he'd created his NFL-R and the Anticorian Cuff as well as a few other things, and had discovered the Sword of Conquest.

"And there is another reason as well. If I were to attempt to replicate your rings, and something went wrong I would probably get beat up by Storm Troopers for the mere attempt should there be any kind of explosion or anything. You now know why I am not trusting myself to base my designs off of your rings in truth. That and I'm not the type of guy to be an optimist, which is probably something required for Hope."
#10
Warren went on to accept the apology, and Cole gave a small sigh of relief. At times like this, he was glad he had become a Blue Lantern. Without it, he felt like he would let his anger overtake him far too often. He listened as Warren explained that he was likely not a good fit to be a Blue Lantern, and that he felt the emotional spectrum in general could turn out poorly. Walker and Cole both thought this was, at least partially, true. For Cole, he knew that using a power ring is a a hard skill to learn, much less master, and could, indeed, turn out poorly for Warren. For Walker, having a more advanced understanding of the emotional spectrum, he knew that certain emotions took control of their users, such as Love and Rage, and using them would be harmful. Warren then explained that he was likely to be beat up by something called "Storm Troopers" if anything went wrong.
"Wait," Cole asked, "Do Storm Troopers wear white and black armour? And carry blasters?" Cole was almost certain the soldiers that had taken away that man earlier were Storm Troopers. Warren finished speaking, saying he was likely not a good fit for being a Blue Lantern, as he wasn't optimistic.
"That is certainly understandable," Walker said. "It is not as though optimism can be controlled." And that was truly what Walker felt about it. Optimism was a personality quirk: whether you had it or not was as much in your control as whether you're fair-haired or not.
#11
"Yes. Storm Troopers wear white and black armor and carry blasters. At the slightest sign of a disturbance such as oh I don't know, trying to invent a Laser Sword for yourself or something, and something goes wrong they'll come. They'll trash your lab and ruin everything. Following that, you'll be forced to perform nearly a full day of community service if you try to fight back at all."  Warren was not exactly happy with the way the Storm Troopers had treated him. It was one of the reasons that he believed the power of hope shouldn't be messed with. Avoiding any further incidents from the Storm Troopers was a high priority on his list because he didn't want any kind of trouble actually.

"Thus you have one of the reasons I'm reluctant to even accept a ring from you. If ANYTHING were to go wrong during my experiments, if it were even to make a loud noise, I'd probably end up with whatever lab being trashed and the Storm Troopers pounding me again later. Therefore that has killed my desire to invent while I'm on Coruscant. They can't do anything to me when I'm out of this Verse. Right now my main purpose for being here is to find a way to build Hard Light Technology, but without needing the Emotional Energy of your rings. It shouldn't be that hard to figure something out and cobble it together right?"

Truthfully he was not sure about whether or not it was going to be easy. Still, he knew he was not going to try to build anything so long as any of the Storm Troopers were within a 15-mile radius of wherever he was going to try to build something unless he had something that could keep any of them from hearing or seeing anything that he was up to. As such Warren was more than sure that making a home on Coruscant was going to require some special practice with Omnilium so he could create a sound proof barrier or something around his place, to prevent any intrusions by the long arm of the law. While he did hate the Storm Troopers, they were efficient. Paradoxically, Warren knew that he liked their efficiency and planned to take advantage of it by relocating his base to this world as soon as he was able to do so.

As of now though, he couldn't relocate his base just yet. There was much work to be done. An alternative to the energies of the Emotional Spectrum had to be discovered by him because he couldn't wield that power himself. Given that there was a 90% chance of things going horribly wrong with the energies of the Emotional Spectrum, Warren was not the kind of person to take stupid risks. To him a risk of that magnitude with very few rewards didn't seem like an appealing option to say the least.
#12
Warren confirmed Cole's suspicions that the soldiers that carried the organ dealer away were Stormtroopers. Cole was... certainly not surprised, and perhaps a bit happy that he was right, but that wasn't completely accurate... perhaps, angry was the best way to put it? Warren continued, saying that if you try something like inventing things, the Stormtroopers would destroy one's living space and arrest them. Both Warren and Cole were in silent agreement on how to feel about this: Angry. Clearly this government was restrictive; the Coruscant government was obviously unfit to rule, for they dominated all of their inhabitants' lives. Warren explained that was why he didn't accept the ring, and Cole thought it rational. When one could scarcely talk too loud without authoritarian soldiers attacking them, it was clearly not a place to experiment. When Warren said he wanted to create the Hard-Light technology without the emotional spectrum, Cole was slightly offended, before regaining his composure, thinking about why he'd do that. While there were disadvantages associated with using such technology- if one's emotion would fade, as does their power, for example- the power associated with the emotions, even the weakest ones, is too great to ignore. So, he decided to tell warren.
"The emotional spectrum is powerful. Don't underestimate it."
"And Hope especially so. While you certainly should be able to choose whether to use these emotional powers, I'd highly recommend that you do," Walker added. While of course he thought that one doesn't necessarily need the emotional spectrum, he agreed with Cole that Warren should surely use it.
#13
"I know the Emotional Spectrum is powerful. It is one of the reasons I am choosing to steer clear of said power. After all, I don't want to be accused of abusing said power if I were to ever end up arrested or something. The law enforcement here can be very annoying, to say the least some of the time, Cole. As I explained to you earlier, I do believe."

Warren thought about what Saint Walker and Cole said. They wanted him to use the Emotional Spectrum. However, he was not certain it was the right call to do so. At least not on the initial invention idea anyway. Warren knew he could in the future perhaps allow himself to use the Emotional Spectrum but for now, he'd have to stick with what he knew. As a user of technology, Warren preferred to avoid any kind of magic or supernatural elements in his technology or equipment. The Sword of Conquest as such was a weapon that he couldn't allow himself to keep, even if it was powerful and could provide him an advantage.

"You truly wish for me to use the Emotional Spectrum, I see. So I will make an effort to do so when I have gotten some experience experimenting with the technology of Hard Light. After all, I will need to learn how to use Hard Light Technology first. In addition, I'll also need to learn how to create such for myself. After all, I'm not as powerful as some of the Primes who arrived here in the Omniverse. I'll need something so I can level the playing field against them. While I may personally not desire the power of the Emotional Spectrum it is perhaps a good idea that I put some of it to use for my own purposes."

Once more the Quarterback of Chaos temporarily halted what he had been saying.

Finally, Warren said.

"If it means that much to you, I will use the Emotional Spectrum when I am ready. First I will have to complete some experiments to make sure I can use regular Hard Light Technology before I can do so though."
#14
"You misunderstand, Warren. It doesn't matter to me what you do with the emotional spectrum. Use it or don't, I don't care. I was merely pointing out the flaws in your reasoning," Cole argued when Warren finished speaking. It had seemed, from what Warren said, that it appeared as though Cole and Walker had some emotional attachment to the emotional spectrum-they truly wanted Warren to use it. While that may have been true for Walker, Cole knew it certainly wasn't true for him. Walker had, by now, opted for a more observational role in the converstation; he had stopped adding things ,contenting himself to just watch and listen, to attempt to see what would happen. Having gotten the fact that he didn't care whether Warren used the emotional spectrum out of the way, Cole thought back, and began to further analyze his earlier points. Warren had pointed out that he wasn't as strong as some primes, that had been here for a longer time, and that was fair. Bu there was still one thing Cole was uncertain about: what, exactly, was a prime?
"That word, 'prime'. What does it mean?" Cole asked. "All these terms and things, new now that I've arrived at the Omniverse... they're all a bit hard to understand. Please, tell me, if you would, is there some kind of internet here? Back in my home, I had my ring synced up with a device that could access its internet, so, is there one here that I may be able to access?"
#15
"Alright. First, i must ask you if you remember who brought you here to the Omniverse. If you don't, it was that Fucking A-Hole, Omni who brought you here against your will like he dragged me. The term "Prime" refers to those that are brought here by the individual named Omni because of what he does to the individuals. When he brings them here he strips their abilities from them for the most part. All of the Primes initially start out with barely any of their abilities at their disposal. This is the second time for me he has brought me here against my will, and I must admit it annoys me to the point where I wish to strangle him, Cole. However, I know I am nowhere near strong enough to do any sort of thing because he wields powers I can't even begin to fathom."

Warren's narrative lecture about why he hated Omni stopped and Warren continued.

"The Smiling Bastard says that he'll reward the individuals who "entertain him"  but I have no plans to be any sort of "Reality Television" show of sorts for someone who is far too powerful for his own good. I'd love to take him down a peg or two but as I said. I'm nowhere near powerful enough to do anything that could possibly effect Omni at all. After all, I'm barely starting out and only have a few of my moves back."

The situation was exasperating to Warren. Normally he'd punch whatever he didn't like, or blast it with a laser. Or throw a grenade at it. Yet now he had none of those options because nothing he could do could harm Omni. Omni could just easily shrug off everything that he could do and simply laugh at him without even having to put forth any sort of effort. It was very annoying that the individual was that level of power because Warren knew he didn't have what it took to combat such immense strength.

"As if that problem were not bad enough I will soon have to abandon my base in order to convert it back into Omnilium so I may have enough in order to fashion devices that could allow me to mimic the technology that allows your rings to make constructs. Granted it won't be anywhere near as versatile as what your rings are capable of. However, it should serve my purposes in the interim and I could always improve upon my designs down the line as my skills grow..."
#16
Cole listened intently as Warren explained his hatred for Omni. To him, the rational mostly made sense. If one essentially kidnaps you, from not just your home, but your entire world, and forces you to do things for their amusement, they shouldn't expect you to enjoy it! However, for Walker, the feelings were not the same.
"Perhaps there is another reason," he interjected, stepping forward. "It is possible that he has another reason to bring us here. Perhaps he needs us to support himself, or he requires us to save him from some threat? if you needed to bring one from another universe in order to survive, would you not do it? While this may not be true, it is certainly a possibility." During that, Cole was listening, and at the end of it he looked at the ground, ashamed. The whole time Warren was talking, he had not considered that at all. Cole was somewhat confused, however, when he heard about Warren's base.
"Wait, so, you can turn anything back into this 'Omnilium'? Actually, that's a good thing to know; what, exactly, is Omnilium? All I know so far is what Omni said, and that you can summon things made out of it, and turn things into it. Can you just turn things into it that you make with it? Or is it anything?" Cole asked. With every answer, it seemed the whole thing became less and less clear.

"If I knew what Omnilium actually was, I'd tell you, Cole. As to your theory, Saint Walker. Ludicrous is the word I'd use to describe it without cursing because someone of that power level surely doesn't need any protection from threats. He's a threat by definition."

Warren was done waxing philosophical with them. Omni was an individual who deserved to have his face beat in, in Warren's opinion several x over because of all he pulled. It was one thing when you kidnapped an individual once from their home universe. It was another entirely when you made them act as your Reality Television Show. It was still another when you repeated the same thing twice. Oh, how Warren wanted to gut Omni like a fish so that he could carve his entrails out of his body and make him suffer.

Warren then muttered. "Fucking Smiling Bastard. He's probably watching us right now and getting some sick laughs about me trying to explain Omnilium which I don't fully understand to you. In any case, Cole. Thank you for the offer of the ring that your friend made but I must be headed on my way. Places to go, people to beat up when I get strong enough, you know how it is.  Well, I do have one question for you. Are you going to ally yourself with the Empire Cole? If you do, we will become the worst of enemies."

Warren wasn't about to put up with the Empire getting even more powerful than they were. Sure he was going to take advantage of the strength possessed by the Empire and corrupt it for his own purposes. This didn't mean he had to like how powerful the Empire was. They most certainly did notneed the power of the Blue Lanterns on their side in the war between Coruscant and Camelot. The Omniverse would face problems if the Empire was able to utilize such technology. The mere mental images of what he was thinking of caused Warren to shudder in fear. "I am quite serious with you Cole. Please don't join the Empire."

"Believe what you wish. I won't say I know better," Walker responded when Warren described his opinion of Walker's views. He, put bluntly, didn't care what Warren thought. It was his opinion, he chose it, and, hopefully, chose it well.
"Perhaps he is a threat, to you and me. But imagine another being, another, Omni, let's say, that's more powerful than the Omni we know. What then? What if that Omni is a predator to the one we know?" Cole rebutted. He didn't exactly feel the same way as Walker. Warren continued, speaking of how Omni likely took enjoyment from watching him explain Omnilium. To that, Cole had mixed feelings. He didn't exactly have an opinion on it. When Warren, told him not to join with the Empire, that piqued Cole's interest.
"And why is that?" he asked. Perhaps the government was too restrictive, and in that case Cole certainly wouldn't support them. Or perhaps too liberal for Warren's ideas; Cole found this idea stupid, but it was possible.
"Also, you never answered my question, does this place have an internet?"

"I'll tell you about why I don't want you joining the Empire right after you tell me how powerful your ring is on a scale of 1-10."  Warren needed information about the ring so he could judge whether or not Cole joining the Empire was going to make his plans to oppose them harder than the plans already were. Opposing the Empire was difficult because of the number of men that they had at their disposal. Dealing with the problem of the Storm Troopers was going to be one headache that the Quarterback of Chaos didn't need. Until he got stronger he knew he was nowhere near capable enough to even handle one squad of them, let alone the whole army that the Empire had patrolling Coruscant. Given Palpatine could summon more of them as well any work he did to eliminate them would simply be undone in an instant. It was not a pretty thought, to say the least, that he couldn't succeed at what he intended on succeeding at.

"As for your question. Yes. There is a digital equivalent to the internet. It is called the "Dataverse" and requires a mobile Dataverse Device in order so that you may access the internet of this place. While it is not the same as the internet back home, I believe you would find it satisfactory for your needs, Cole."  said Warren.  "And now I will tell you the reasons I don't want you joining the Empire. Or rather, show you some of the reasons that I don't want you to join the Empire."

Warren summoned up a viewing screen, showing the warehouse he was working in. Moments later the Storm Troopers busted in and damaged work that he had made, leading to Warren reacting by taking a hostage which eventually led to him being forced to clean vehicles as "community service" although Storm Troopers threw filth onto the vehicles and pounded him during his efforts to clean up the vehicles. It was one of the reasons Warren had promised himself that he was never going to trust the empire. If they were willing to do things like that, they were definitely not an organization that deserved his help. In addition given that he had far reaching plans for the Omniverse Warren knew a lot was at stake if he were to trust the Empire. If he were to do so he'd run the risk of getting stabbed literally in the back by the Empire. Some of them wielded lightsabers according to what little information on them he possessed.

This was why he knew he needed more weapons at his disposal because he couldn't survive without having the proper tools. Developing equipment to better allow him to survive in the Omniverse was a wise idea. Hard Light Technology in that regard could level the playing field some against some of the more powerful Primes out there. Still, it wasn't going to be enough on its own, unfortunately. At times like these Warren wished Ricky were more powerful so that he could put the Prime to use doing things he didn't want to, like fighting against the Empire. On the other hand, however, if Ricky were more powerful there was a risk he could double cross Warren.

"I will soon be heading out to attempt to develop the Hard Light Technology. Keeping in mind what you said about the Emotional Spectrum I may or may not attempt to incorporate it into plans to have suitable defenses for myself."  exclaimed Warren with a smile on his face for the moment because right now he had something he hadn't had in a long time. There was actual hope that he could succeed at one of his inventions, rather than fail miserably like he was used to doing here in the Omniverse.

"Um... a 9 or a 10, definitely. Hope is the strongest is emotion, of all of the emotional spectrum," Cole replied to Warren's question. He knew Hope was the strongest of the emotions, and the rings themselves were fairly strong.
"Although it should be noted that most of the ring's abilities are supportive in nature; mostly the ring can do things like heal, or shield, but there isn't much in the way of offensive power," Walker interjected. And it was true; though Hope was the most powerful emotion, it was also the hardest to understand and utilise, and as such was seen as weak, and was even not useful in some scenarios which required pure offensive power. Upon hearing the answer to his question, that there was, indeed, an equivalent to the internet, Cole was excited. When he heard it was somewhat different, he wasn't worried.  He suspected that the device in his ring would still be more than adequate to access it. Watching the video Warren  showed, Cole shook his head, his face turning into a menacing scowl. He had already seen these storm troopers be brutal with that man, and now they destroyed Warren's lab, with seemingly no provocation? He was angry. Really angry. This government needed to be stopped.
"Well, we certainly have business to attend to, and I'm sure you do as well, so i suppose it's time to part ways. Goodbye, and hopefully see you later. If I can, I'll contact you through the "dataverse". Seeya."
