The Hunt Begins (Dark Data)
#41
They arrived at the small abandoned town but was populated again with the forces of Nebula. Ash has heard that there were other settlements out there like Darkshire that were made before The Pale Moors became what it was today. Unfortunately, they weren’t as heavily fortified as Darkshire which used to be the main hub for Camelot of this verse. The town’s atmosphere felt darker compared to the rest of the verse. From how fortified the town was, the team could tell that this will be challenging to infiltrate since there were so many of those dark creatures protecting their power. That didn’t bring down their spirits. They were primes after all and Ash had experienced some tough fights from defending castle Kandar to protecting Darkshire from evil primes.

They went over with the plans and from surveying the town, it looked like there was only one way in which was the front entrance. Of course, there was a sizable number of Nebula’s forces at the entrance making sure nothing gets in or out. If they made their own entrance by trying to saw their way through the palisades, it would take a lot of time plus the noise of Ash’s chainsaw would attract Nebula’s forces. Apparently, Celestia will fly over to get pass the wall then draw out attention to distract some of the Nebula’s forces. Possibly, that will confuse the front entrance guards so that Revan, Yu Kanda, Ash, Sombra, and Chara could take them out on ground.

Stealth wasn’t going to be easy for this group since none of them was fit for it. As half of the group got to pass the wall, the other half approached the entrance but tried to remain quiet as possible. They didn’t try to attack but waited off to hear sounds of the dark soldiers to be alarmed. After a couple minutes when Celestia flew over, she cast down her magic at the rear guards behind the entrance. Suddenly, the primes engaged the enemy at the gate without mercy.

Nebula’s forces scrambled to get ready for the attacks coming on both sides. Some starting rushing to pour gunpowder and pellets in their flintlock rifles. Others unsheathe their blades, clubs, and axes as their main weapons. Before Ash moved in for the attack, he realized Chara wasn’t with them anymore and expected her to be somewhere beyond the wall hopefully killing off Nebula’s forces. He yanked the cord of his Chainsaw to start up the motor again which began sputtering then whining loudly with fuel smoke puffing out. His shotgun was whipped out of the holster and fully loaded.

Revan and Yu Kanda were the first to follow in and strike the darkened creatures. Sombra followed in also and cut down the enemy forces with his scythe. Ash dashed out of cover and proceeded to enter with the group. Two of the dark creatures were about to flank Sombra but were shot down by Ash with his boomstick.

Chaos began to ensue on the town from the front entrance assault. Nebula’s forces rushed to their posts and prepare for the group of primes. As Ash got Sombra’s back, one of the entrance guards that remain standing sprinted toward him with a spear. His enemy screamed with a war cry for Ash to avenged it’s fallen, comrades. Ash ducked to avoid the spear that was going for his head. Luckily enough, Sombra moved further away to advance along with the others. Ash quickly swung his chainsaw above him while the dark creature made its move. The weapon’s pole was made of wood which the top part of the spear was sawed off from the evil dead slayer. His enemy retrieves the pole back to its body and made a defensive stance. The eyes stared menacingly at Ash and the creature’s fighting spirit was still not broken. Ready to face death.

“Boy, you guys aren’t afraid of nothing.” responded Ash in astonishment that his enemy didn’t run off cowering after Ash degraded its weapon.

Afterward, Ash sliced the Nebula fiend through the wooden pole that used to be a spear. His defeated opponent got sawed in half and the remaining corpse fell to the ground along with sawed the sawed weapon. Two more of the entrance guards popped up on Ash’s left side but were at a further range. They aimed flintlock rifles and were ready to fire them. Ash was in a vulnerable state and they did catch him off guard while focusing on who was in front of him earlier. Before they could fire upon Ash, Yu Kanda came in and slayed the two riflemen that perished.

“Focus, we need to all move together so that we won’t get outnumbered massively.” said Yu Kanda in annoyance and loudly over the fighting that was going on while gazing at Ash. The evil dead slayer could tell that one of his teammates was not enjoying the plan of this assault. The Darkshire’s defender nodded in agreement and followed Yu Kanda further into town.

Yu Kanda complained about the attack plan and thought it would be a flaw. Ash did know doing a front assault was a bad plan. Although if they did do stealth, Ash would have to be one of those guys to wait outside until the coast was cleared since he wasn’t well at being sneaky even his weaponry weren’t fit for that kind of job. They’ve could’ve caught them off guard if it was that way.

Ash stepped back and watch the exorcist go on a killing spree with Nebula’s forces. He has never seen anyone kill so many people under a small time. This made him glad that this prime was on their side and could help make the Pale Moors have a brighter future. Afterward, he seen The Black Order’s general covered in the gore of his enemies.

Yu Kanda, Ash, and Sombra followed in quickly to save Revan from being outnumbered. The evil dead slayer unloaded the last buckshot that was in his gun upon some of Nebula’s forces. After firing and killing a few that were within range, Ash holstered his shotgun and revved his chainsaw loudly then dashed into the group, sawing his way to cut down the numbers of the enemy. The exorcist and the dark pony followed and help save Revan.

This place was a mess and the atmosphere became the darkest that the Pale Moors could ever be. Streets were dirt and mud which wasn’t like Darkshire’s that have a nicer pave to it even less filth. Still, Celestia flew through the sky being an air support to the team. Chara navigated through the town to regroup with her allies for this mission. She glitched to catch up with the group and eventually did. They ran down the main road toward the square of the city, they were blocked off from Nebula’s forces creating some barricades of wooden spike walls and at least two old cannons that were on both sides. Their rifles and cannons fired upon the primes as they made their appearance.

Gunpowder filled the air as the scent of the battle that was going on. Without time to waste, Celestia darted down quickly toward her allies to protect them with her sun wall. She landed and made the sphere of fire around them that took the damage of the incoming projectiles. One cannon ball hit the barrier that made their shield weaker to take any more projectiles. The second cannon ball landed in front of them causing mud and debris to kick up in the air and rain down.

The riflemen started reloading their guns fast as the group of liberators was moving closer to them. Celestia deactivated the sunwall before it would break by any more projectiles. Nebula’s forces pour out of the barricade and charged forth at the group of the primes to stop them. The riflemen and artillery squad couldn’t really be left alone to stop them from the lengthy process of loading their weapons. Many of the dark defenders held battle axes, swords, maces, and spears who were charging at the liberators.

Celestia took to the skies again to at least distract and take on others from an advantage point. The grounded liberators used their ranged powers or weapons to lessen the incoming force. Ash grabbed his weapon out of the holster and reloaded his shotgun. He waited for him and the enemy to get closer so that his weapon could be effective then fired. Two were killed by the number of pellets while others got damaged that were more positioned in the outer area. Revan used his bow to fire a couple arrows at targets he was focusing on. Three gotten killed by the archer’s skill and dissolved into black mist.

A couple more were killed by Sombra, Yu Kanda, and Chara’s ranged powers. The numbers of the charging dark defenders became smaller. All the liberators clashed with their enemies as they met contact.

Thunder rumbled in the sky overhead.

The forces of Nebula in the town had put up a mighty struggle. Fully leveraging their numerical advantage and the sheer survivability and strength that their dark powers gave them, they had managed to hold off and batter the primes seeking to remove their influence from the pale moors. But they were no match for them, at the end of it. Pushed back, broken and cut down, with dwindling numbers to the square of the town, they had mounted a final defense before the steps of the courthouse. Each and every one of them had grown all the more frenzied, vicious and determined as they were pushed so close to their stronghold. The pristine structure glimmered in the dim light, almost seeming to glow among the otherwise oppressive darkness. It stood out like an almost serene, holy place, the kind of place that creatures this foul and corrupted would have been more likely to tear down and demolish, rather than protect so fanatically.

Lightning flashed, painting the entire scene in monotone. Shades of white and black, dim pools of gray. And pinpricks of red light, the eyes of the corrupted forces of Nebula.

But they fought with all they had. Clubs and hammers. Swords and axes. Rifles and cannons. All of their equipment rusted and barely serviceable, but still deadly. They broke, combating the tough, well-kept and maintained weapons of the primes. But they didn't stop, continuing to attack and batter them, fighting with bare hands, teeth, clawed fingernails, and even rocks and the remains of their broken weapons.

Rain began to fall. Think, oily, full of smoke. Cold, chilling, and foul smelling. The ground grew slick and slimy, puddles of the foul, dank water making the worn stones slippery, the loose earth into slimy mud.

Further and further the darklings were cut down and pushed back, until scarcely a dozen remained, at the very steps of the courthouse. They howled, and screeched, their efforts devolving into bestial frenzy. Dark flames leapt up around their bodies, their eyes blazing like torches in their fervor.

Somewhere, overhead, a bell rang out. Clear, unmistakable. It tolled out in a slow, even rhythm. And the darklings grew quiet.

The doors of the courthouse were thrown open. Bright, warm, golden light poured out. Clean, red carpeting and polished marble floors glimmered and shone from within. The darklings slowly backed away, toward the doors, breaking into a mad dash to flee inside the structure, their resolve broken with the chance of an escape.

And from inside the building, a booming voice spoke out: "COURT IS NOW IN SESSION. ENTER, PRIMES, AND TAKE YOUR PLACES."

Tired from their battle, the sword wielding prime stood before the large building with its door wide open. The amount of soldiers that had lost their lives fighting against the exorcist and his group was of biblical proportions. A strange yet intimidating voice inviting them in was heard throughout the field of slaughter upon which they stood. This is what it meant to be an exorcist, cleans the evil from this world, whatever means necessary.

Kanda's attire was damaged to say the least, one sleeve was ripped from his uniform as the rest of it had cuts and holes in it. Next to him stood Ash, covered in blood same as Kanda, the battle didn't wound him as much as it could've done but it was obvious the soldiers got a few good blows in.

"Are you alright?" The exorcist asked his new found ally.

"Nothing i can't handle, what about yourself? You look a bit beaten up there." Ash replied with a grin on his face. It was obvious to Kanda he was dealing with a warrior, not someone easily scared. A quality he appreciated in his teammate.

"Only because I had to do all the hard work here. How was your view from back there?"

The warrior simply replied with a friendly scoff.

Revan walked up to the duo, not looking to fresh himself, "You can stroke each other's ego's after we dealt with whatever it is that is in there." He nudged towards the open doors.

Kanda stared towards the building, his gut was telling him something was wrong, that whatever or whoever was inside of there was no pushover. Things were about to get even more dangerous from here on out. Whether or not the others had the same feeling was unknown to him, but it wouldn't change anything, whether they lived or died was irrelevant, as long as his mission is completed. The past fight gave all the information Kanda needed about the people that were with him. So far there was only people that he could remotely trust was Ash and Revan, the other's motives were still a unknown to Kanda. Especially Chara's, he trusted that wench as much as fox in a henhouse. He had to keep an eye on them, before they get any funny ideas of siding with whatever it was that was hiding in that courthouse.

"Whatever it is we find inside, it won't go down as easy as these henchmen. You best take care of yourself in there I do not intend to babysit." The crude words didn't fall well with everyone gathered, but he wasn't here to make friends. Today the power of the black order was going to be shown once again. The pale moors would be cleansed of this evil. With a strong look upon his face and his weapons at the ready he took the first step towards the courthouse. The battle for liberating the moors was about to begin.

Celestia had fallen back on instinct and intuition, as careful though and patient discussion couldn't accomplish much in the thick of battle.  As such, it didn't take long for her to fall into a rhythm, in time with the general flow of the combat.

From her vantage point above the battlefield, Celestia would spot something.  This time was an axe-wielding creature, trying to sneak up on her allies position.  She quickly fired a ray of flame at it.  Sometimes she'd hit, and the creature would go down immediately, but those times were incidental.  Even if she failed to bring it down, she'd clearly marked the spot where an attacker lay.

Another time was a row of rifle-wielders, lining up on an ally occupied in melee.  Celestia readied her shield and dove down, creating a barrier between her comrade and that dangerous initial volley.  The shield could only reliably hold one barrage when used this way, but by then her ally could react to the threat and Celestia herself could retreat back to the sky.

And so she could have continued until their team had destroyed all of the creatures.  The doors of the courthouse were thrown open, and what defenders remained took the opportunity to flee inside.  When only the primes remained outside the structure, they were greeted with an ominous message.

Their victory did not come without cost.  Celestia had noted grimly when Sombra had ventured too far forward, in his eagerness to attack the enemy, and was swarmed.  He fell, and did not get back up.  There was a part of Celestia that was relieved, that if they had to lose anyone it would be the self-described tyrant.  At the same, losing a member of the team still stung.  She set those thoughts aside, ass she could spare neither the time nor the effort to sort out her feelings while they were still in the thick of things.

Celestia returned to the ground, just in time to hear Yu Kanda speak.  She didn't appreciate his attitude, as even if she didn't believe this group could handle itself announcing an unwillingness to help one's allies was unproductive, but the warning rung true.  “ 'The strategy of open doors',” she muttered to herself, before speaking more loudly in agreement with Yu Kanda's sentiment.  Or part of it, at least.  “Whatever's in there is confident enough to open its stronghold for us.  We should be prepared for anything.”

Pausing only briefly, to see that her fellow primes were with her, Celestia stepped inside.

As Chara looked at the blood shed and grinned wider than most people would've thought possible. Just this once she would aside her plans for the greater good. "I am personaly glad I have such powerful . . .  acquaintances? Ally's? though I'm sure that we will go our separate ways once we are done but I would rather fight with you than against you."

A voice boomed from inside the Courthouse with power and gave everyone a little fear. "Court is now in session. Enter primes and take your places." She walked up to the entrance seeing it was quite blinding in there; and all that she could see from the golden light is a red carpeting, and polished marble. This surprised her the most, it was too clean for its own good. She didn't know if she trusted Regal, he seemed too knowing even if he did come from the world that these chips came from. She thought that if Nebula knew Regal was around they would work harder to be more secretive, she decided to put the debate on hold for now and deal with the problem at hand."

She grabbed her bag and slotted in the dark chip into her liberator aid. "i am ready to head to court if the rest of you are?" She crossed her arms and leaned her back on one of the doors, waiting for the others to get ready.

One of the worst outcomes had occurred, Sombra his teacher was dead. He was not so sure how it had happened but the corpse had quickly vanished like dust in the wind leaving him with nothing but a memory of the unicorn that was at least to him a good friend. Revan sheathed his sword his face now an expression of pure rage that only increased when a voice echoed from the building that the last few enemies retreated into. There was no doubt about it, Revan was going to slay whoever was inside and he was going to have vengeance.

Yu Kanda and Ash seemed to be getting along well but now was not a time for stroking each other's egos, they had a pony down and they seemed to not even care. His cape swayed as he pushed past them heading for the steps with a look of fierce determination.

"You can stroke each other's ego's after we dealt with whatever it is that is in there." He said hoping they took the hint.

"You don't have to worry about me." He replied not liking Yu Kanda's attitude.

"You are correct Celestia, come then we will finish this together." He motioned Celestia to join him at his side.

Surprisingly it was Chara that showed some gratitude for their assistance such gratitude Revan appreciated.
Looking back he simply gave Chara a nod, though young Chara was certainly a well respected ally.

Revan stepped up the stairs with the others and once climbed they entered the large doors not sure of what they were going to find on the other side. Though a large risk Nebula had to be destroyed and all that had been lost had to be avenged.

Ash raised his bloodied chainsaw hand upward and sort of rest it on his shoulder. His shotgun was still being held in one hand but pointing toward the ground after the fight in a non-hostile way. Both barrels from his weapon were smoking after a long heated battle trying to take on an army. The Darkshire defender had his blue button up shirt partially torn too by missing a left sleeve and some slashes around the chest area of the clothing. Ash saw Yu Kanda stood further away in front of him. His teammate also had his clothes damaged during the fight. He can tell that he did a lot for this battle and fought with bravery.

Nebula's forces retreated away from the primes and grouped up back at their capital of this town. They all stood outside of the courthouse with their weapons raise to be prepared if any of the primes still attack them. After a stare down between them and the liberators, the doors of the courthouse opened. All the dark creatures resided inside the building as if it was their hive.

Ash walked up to Yu Kanda and stood next to him as they talk to each other.

"Oh, the view was nice back there seeing you do your magic tricks like it was some talent show." responded Ash in from the exorcist's jokingly question.

Revan came up to them and urge them now was not the time to be wasting it on being humorous. The Black Order general and the evil dead slayer both agree that now was the time to bring liberation to this town. Ash was thinking that hopefully after they will destroy whatever was in there along with its minions, Nebula's grip will be loosened from this already darkened land that doesn't need any more alternate evil.

Chara spoke her gratitude which Ash was glad that at least the first shady prime for this mission he met before anyone else was playing smart and not being stubborn.

The booming voice echoed all around them from the courthouse who was calling out to them. Still, this voice didn't scare the liberators trying to fight for the survival of this verse's future.

"Oh great… jury duty." muttered Ash facing his gaze at the courthouse after the commanding sentence that the unidentified person spoke.

Celestia landed on the ground gently next to her teammates while Yu Kanda spoke his mind out about being prepared and not saving their butts for every moment they get into trouble.
When his pony ally also encouraged, Ash reloaded his shotgun with two new rounds and smirked at how open the Nebula's stronghold was.

"Well, whoever opened those doors made a big mistake they're going to regret." said Ash confidently while shifting his position with the chainsaw hand dangling and resting his boomstick on the left shoulder.

The liberators began walking together up toward the courthouse that emitted a strange power. They go up the steps and proceeded inside.

Into the courthouse the group went. It was...welcoming, inside. It was quiet, peaceful. The fury of the sudden rain outside was left at the doors, leaving only the brilliant glow of pristine cleanliness and order within the out of place structure. Red carpeting lead forward, from the main doors to a flight of stairs, leading up to a second level. Another set of huge doors was flung open there, and the flickering glare of firelight shone clearly through the doorway. Several pairs of muddy, grimy foot and boot prints straggled off in all directions. To doors on the ground level, and to either side on the upper level. The remains of the Nebula forces in the small, decaying little town.

Up the stairs. And through the doors there. The group stepped into what looked clearly like a courtroom. Except there was none of the usual furnishings. It was bare.

Only stands, to either side, crowded with individuals corrupted by Nebula's darkness. Dozens of them, numbering well over a hundred. All of them leering, growling and snarling down at the primes. Claws flexed, teeth gnashed, spittle flew. Insults and jeers in a dozen different languages and a hundred voices went up.

The Judge's bench, rising tall and imposing over the bare floor of the courtroom. Behind it, a swirling portal of darkness, spewing sparks and scraps of dark energy. And sitting at the bench, was who must be the judge. A gavel in hand rose, and came down with a resounding, deafening crack. "ORDER IN THE COURT!" came the resounding, echoing voice. It was the same commanding, rumbling tone that had 'invited' the primes in. And immediately, as the order was given, silence fell. Stark and oppressive, with hundreds of eyes glaring, leering down at the primes.

"Yu Kanda. Princess Celestia. Chara Dreemurr. Revan Noctis. Ash Williams." The voice rumbled out slowly, a stern, unblinking gaze shifting to each of the primes as they were mentioned. "The five of you stand accused of interfering with the business of Nebula's attempts to plunge the Omniverse under a layer of darkness and unite all in chaos. Murder of Nebula soldiers and servants in self defense: 9 counts. Murder of Nebula citizens defending their home: 76 counts. Unprovked attack and slaughter of Nebula guards: 8 counts. Waylaying a Nebula scouting party, in its attempt to secure a more safe, free trade route: 1 count. For these crimes, you are hereby judged without trial, at the verdict of this jury." Lifting his head, the imposing judge turned to look between the stands, full of Nebula's citizens. "JURY! You have heard the crimes these primes are accused of! Have you reached a verdict?"

The response was unanimous and immediate, a roar that shook the entire courthouse. "GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY!"

"And what, good citizens of the Dark, shall be their punishment?"

Again, the response was immediate, and the lights seemed to flicker, darkness surging from the congregation. "DEATH!"

The judge's gavel came down with a crack like thunder. Lightning flashed through the windows, casting the towering figure in stark relief, letting his red eyes glimmer. "So it has been spoken. So it shall be." With a flourish, the judge rose from his seat and vaulted over the bench. Down the floor, where he landed with a heavy, echoing thud, making the entire room shake and tremble. "You have been found guilty, primes. Your sentence is death, to be carried out immediately."

His cloak billowed out behind him, wind kicking up and the doors, first to the outside of the building, then to the courtroom itself, slammed shut. Dark, purple flame blazed up around his form. Red eyes glared, full of malice and righteousness.

Kanda couldn't help but smirk, this one had quite the taste for the theatrical drama. Observing this so called judge the exorcist didn't think highly of him. Nevertheless there were many of his followers still within the courthouse, if everyone decided to charge at him and his group it might become a problem. The black order general stepped up towards the judge, the tall program like creature stood tall as his monologue came to an end. The swordsman took it upon himself to respond in the one way he thought was appropriate, " You? Judge us? I hate to tell you 'judge' but you have zero authority here. As a warrior chosen by god, a general of the Black Order allow me to render a judgment of my own."

Kanda started to slowly walk up to the corrupted man, creating a dramatic scene of his own, with his weapon emerging slowly from its sheathe as he did so. The dark purple flames reflected from the black katana, mugen. His allies were behind him, standing at the ready, awaiting the moment they were needed to jump in. Steps were heard as his boots were stepping over the red carpet leading up to the Judge who was watching the scene unfold.

Kanda started to activate his weapon, running his index and middle finger along the back of the katana, leaving behind a silver glow upon the weapon.  "One count of wrecking my verse, one count of picking a fight with the wrong exorcist and finally, one count of being a complete asshole. And guess what? With the power of the black order behind me I find you guilty of all charges. I am the Judge, I am the jury, and in this particular case I will also serve as the executioner. Now in the name of God, die!" The exorcist lunged towards his enemy, slashing his sword horizontally. The mighty weapon was stopped by a simple book which the judge summoned right on time. Kanda's eyes widened, the second he was distracted by the unusual fighting style he failed to notice the large fist being hurled towards him. The swordsman's reflexes kicked in and was able to soften the blow with a decent attempt to block.  For a judge he swung a mean punch, sending Kanda flying backwards a few meters.

"Lucky shot." The exorcist grunted, clearly annoyed.

The judge responded with his loud voice filled with righteousness, "Resistance is futile, you shall not escape your punishment!"

Instead of responding with words, the prime swung his sword and released a single supernatural creature, send to devour his opponent. The hellish bone worm flew through the air towards Judgeman, who in turn used his books to block the worm's path. A perfect time for a surprise attack, Kanda's high speed served him well and within the blink of an eye he found his way behind the distracted Judge. One perfectly executed slash was enough to cut through the attire of the dramatic enemy.  He was faster than Kanda anticipated but luckily he wasn't alone. As the judge took the step needed to avoid blood being drawn he took another step closer to Kanda's ally. Ash read the situation perfectly and with shotgun in hand he aimed at the commander of the dark forces, "Surprise asshole!" A loud shot  was heard throughout the room, yet it hit nothing but air.

"What the hell? He can teleport?!" Ash shouted surprised.

With that the others joined in, this bastard wasn't going down without a fight.

Walking into the court was a worrying experience, many stood upon the stands overlooking them. Each one was a warrior of Nebula and a threat but the worst of all was the massive form of the judge now overlooking them. How had he gotten himself into this situation for the Omniverse was assuredly a place of complete and utter chaos yet somehow processed a strange order all on its own. Regardless the large being knew all of their names which made him feel uneasy far more then the idea of a fight, Nebula was clearly learning about them just as much as they were learning about it.

He wondered how much free thought the corrupted forces of Nebula actually had and how they had been corrupted in the first place. The roars echoed as words of guilty and death washed over them, there was no time for diplomacy or compromise, Revan brought up his sword in both hands ready for battle with his enemy.  The judge intended to also be the executioner it seemed as he prepared himself to face them. Yu Kanda was the first to approach and it was there that the judge revealed his powers and his speed.

"I do not find your theatrics amusing." Said Revan still intending to avenge Sombra.

Revan charged preparing to bring down his sword as a book appeared in front of him before he cut through it.
Another book appeared and then another as he sliced his way to the judge only to find time began to slow.
A moment later time went to normal speed flinging him across the room with his own momentum he fell to the ground.

"This verse belongs to Nebula." Said the judge as he slammed Revan with the gavel once again sending the cloaked warrior to the hard ground.

He was not though going to quit but as he began to rise he found himself now caught in a telekinetic grip that felt like he was being crushed from all sides. The judge approached him holding out a free hand as a fire covered whip extended from it uncurling like a vine, the judges expression was one of pure malice and Revan knew he fully intended to mercilessly kill them all. As the judge prepared to flick the whip Revan thought it was going to be the end of him but a recognisable white winged alicorn dove in ploughing into the judges back sending him flying forward of which Revan only had a moment to roll out of the way to avoid being crushed.

He wanted to thank Celestia but there was certainly no time as the judge continued his assault upon them, Revan brought flames into his palm the anger serving only to increase the ignition as this time he began throwing flames at the large judges form. It seemed for a moment this was unexpected as the first two fireballs hit the judge before he blocked the other three with more books. Revan was now a step ahead as he ran and jumped up lunging with his blade the body of the judge seemed hard as steel however and the cut that was made seemed to not be as effective as he had intended it to be.

"Damn you!" Revan shouted before sending his sword swinging at the judge again and again in pure rage.

"Fool." Replied the judge blocking blows with his hand before teleporting and elbowing Revan in the back.

Once again, Ash yanked his starter cord that caused his chainsaw limb's motor roaring with smoke spewing out and whipped out his shotgun with a rolling fashion around his hand before pointing it at their foe.

After saying his catchphrase, Ash fired his shotgun but missed as the judge teleported and popped back into existence behind him.

"What the fu-" said Ash turning around while staggered from the teleportation power that the Judge consisted but his sentence was cut off with a gavel to his face.

The force of the hit made Ash stumble backward a couple feet away from the judge. Ash regained his posture and fired another shot at the Judgeman but was blocked by a big book to shield the judge. This made Ash get frustrated that this baddie kept blocking or dodging his shots.

"Ok hotshot, you don't like the boomstick? You whether be sawed up into pieces? Have it your way!" yelled Ash in a frustrating manner.

He put the shotgun back in his holster and held the chainsaw with his free hand.

VROOOM VROOOM VROOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!

The chainsaw roared mightily over the battle with Ash charging toward the Judgeman. Before Ash could meet in contact with him, his foe raised his arm up at the evil dead slayer and summoned a page storm that engulfed him. While being in the storm of pages, Ash swung his chainsaw around him to fight against the swarm. It was hard to see what was going on with pages surrounding Ash. He couldn't tell if the judge was going to make another attack on him or lost interest with the distracted Darkshire defender.

While Ash was trapped, Yu Kanda sprang into action to help his comrade. The exorcist dashed quickly then made a couple fast slashes at their enemy but the Judge did catch on with Yu Kanda's attack and used another big book to shield himself. Since the Judgeman was distracted by the black order general, Revan made his move by firing a couple fire blasts at their foe. From the noise that the fireballs made, the judge turned his head quickly while looking over his shoulder to see incoming projectiles.

He activated his teleport ability and vanished before the fireballs could hit him. Yu Kanda now noticed that the incoming fireballs were about to impact him. With great reflexes, the exorcist moved out of the way swiftly to dodge the incoming attack. This frustrated Yu Kanda which he barked back at Revan for not thinking about his attack and he could've prevented it with his sword. Revan stayed calm and acknowledged the exorcist's advice. The judge reappeared again but off to the side between Yu Kanda and Revan.

A whip appeared to be in his right hand and cracked it which caused the weapon to sizzle with electricity.

"Fools! You will pay for the crimes that were committed against Nebula! There is no escape from the consequences!" boomed Judgeman with a strict attitude and the thought of justice.

Meanwhile, Ash was still caught within the Judge's trap but the swarm was starting to die down now from his chainsaw tearing through the numbers of pages. Finally, he can sort of see how the fight was going. The evil dead slayer can tell that his allies haven't really made a beating on the judge. After a minute of sawing through pages, he was finally free from the trap and looked upon their foe who was about to make another attack.

This has been by far their toughest challenge to liberate the Pale Moors.

As Chara looked around with slight interest she grew annoyed at the judge. She unsheathed her knife and flipped it over and over as they gave there monologue. After the judge gave there monologue Yu decided to insult the judge and then attack. Chara sighed as she saw Yu give a great swing before to her surprise it getting blocked by a book of all things. The judge moved one step closer to Ash then he fired only to hit the air where the judge was.

Chara’s eyes turned to slits as they realized just what they were dealing with. She had a few chips to use and decided to put in the others that she gained off of the person. “Sword, shotgun, and stealth . . . and the dark chip.” That was when she ducked as a whip attacked her direction. A exclamation icon was shown as the judge zoned in on her to try and finish her off. She got punched into the judge’s seat crashing into it.

She peeked out only  to find the judge; going to swing its gavel at her face. She tried to dodge but it only made it easy for the gavel  to make contact with her face breaking the cartilage of her nose. She swung her knife in retaliation, at the judge only to hit empty air, and then that is what caused her to go over the edge swinging blindly and quickly. All control and planning had gone out the window for her. She rushed him only to be tripped and getting a stomp on her vertebrae.

“FUCK YOU!” The judge then grabbed her by the sweater, laughed as she tried to hit it but then proceeded to throw her into Ash. Today was going to be long and annoying.

Celestia found the interior of the courthouse to be surprisingly clean and respectable looking, much like the exterior.  And there had even been a 'court' of sorts established!  Although, it was not so much a true trial as an excuse to have the primes put to death.  Still, she had to wonder if she had pegged their adversaries wrong.  Here was a sign of a more organized culture than the mad violence she had seen up until now.  Could they be negotiated with?  Might there be, or have been, another way?

No, Celestia concluded after a considering what was said to the group, and shook her head.  The facts were accurate, for the most part, but there was no true consideration behind them.  Of course the primes would have to be destroyed, as they had approached the courthouse, which was a nexus or staging area for the creatures.  The official, legal trappings were just that: a theme of sorts, to the defences of this region and their leader.  Celestia said nothing in response to the so-called judgement, finding no need to attempt banter with what she saw as an automated response.

The ensuing fight she payed much more attention to.  Celestia let her allies make the first moves.  Even if she was willing to lead the charge, her allies were more suited to that rapid, 'shock and awe' style of combat than she was.  While they began their frontal assault, Celestia hung back so that she could play to her own strengths, of observation and careful timing.  For the most part anyways, she briefly provided a distraction for Revan, but beyond that she guessed her own attacks would have little effect if she used them thoughtlessly.  The others may find success, but she was still too weak to find success that way.  She took to the air again, to get a better view of the battle overall.

From her vantage point, Celestia did notice something.  While the Judge was doing an impressive job of blocking or avoiding the primes' attacks, it was not entirely effortless.  There was a moment's preparation before an obstacle appeared, or he blinked away.  “It's not speed!”  Celestia called out, in sudden realization.  “He's anticipating our attacks!”  And the best way to deal with that, would be to divide his attention.  Celestia flew past, angling to attack from behind-

Her path was interrupted by a large pillar of lightning, suddenly bursting from the ground.  She tried to veer away, but could only do so much with so little time, and energy arced into her side and shoulder before she was clear of the pillar.  Dazed, she tumbled to the ground, and though she quickly remembered that she was in combat and regained her wits.

The opportunity was lost, but Celestia had made it to her desired position.  She struggled to the air again, and began looking for another opportunity.

Judgeman was hard-pressed to keep up with attacks from all sides. His careful, calculating nature lent him an edge, able to focus on one foe at a time and speed up his perception to manage against the onslaught. But he was wearing down rapidly. Five against one, even with the law and righteousness on his side, was not a favorable battle. Several shallow wounds had already been scored on him, nicks and scorches in his armored form. He did not breathe, being both a mechanical entity and a denizen of the dark, but his cooling systems were already revved up and blaring at full strength.

He leaped back, a wall of tomes bursting into play before him. A wave of his hand had them all open, one facing toward each gathered prime. Each one spat forth a torrent of pages, crackling with elemental force. Flames, fierce gales, a storm of razor leaves, geysers of water, and bolts of lightning. The speedier among them, the accursed small child and the so-called General managed to avoid the predictable attack. Leaping around and over, glitching and teleporting beyond the wall of pages and texts of law. In unison they pressed forward into an attack. Quick, rapid slices and jabs of the child's knife, harrying and forcing the judge on the defensive. Larger, more powerful and wide-reaching swings of the sword of the exorcist.

The speed advantage came fully into play, as several cuts and nicks in the judge's arms and cloak accrued and built up, forced to resort to parrying and blocking the strikes away with his thick gauntlets as opposed to just avoiding them.

"Your judgement has no weight here!" came the voice of Yu Kanda.

"Insolent whelp!" Judgeman barked in response. And rather than simply deflect the next strike, he actually grabbed the blade. Electricity coursed through the weapon, into the body of the general, and a pillar of dark flame erupted to engulf him, throwing him out of the fray. The momentary distraction was enough for the small child to scamper around, and one-two-three, her knife digging and stabbing into his back. Cloak torn and sporting several new shreds, the arbiter staggered, one knee starting to give way. "Reprehensible..." he muttered weakly, his voice growing dull, before returning to full volume in a maddened roar that shook the entire courthouse. "...VEEEEERMIIIIIN!"

His eyes blazed with red light, and he rose to his feet again, whirling around to deliver his vengeance upon Chara...only to find himself staring down the barrel of Ash's shotgun. "Surprise," was the only thing the man said, sporting a cocky grin as he pulled the trigger.

Sparks flashed, shards of metal flew, and the cyber-judge went stumbling, staggering back. He dropped to a knee, lifting a hand to his mangled head. Dark, viscous fluid dripped from the hole blown in his cranium. A devastating wound, but seemingly a superficial one, if the way his glare redoubled in intensity was any indication.

His entire body glowed blue and he vanished in a flicker of light, just in time for a ball of molten rock to impact the ground where he had been. "Your measure has been taken!" boomed the voice of Judgeman, standing atop the remains of the judge's bench. "And now you will be struck down!" A massive pillar of dark fire rose from his hand, forming into a monstrous gavel. Grasping it, he leaped forward, thundering down toward the primes, and delivering a mighty, overhand strike, releasing a blistering wall of flame, toward Ash.

The flaming wall of hurt was rushing towards Ash, none of the primes were expecting this kind of attack and were caught by surprise, the apocalyptic warrior most of all. Kanda rushed to assist his teammate but even with his fast response time it was too late. The judgeman's attack hit the warrior full force, a loud agonizing scream was heard throughout the hall, silencing it in the process. The stillness was broken by a bouldering laugh from the judge himself, "Puny primes, justice will prevail once more!"

Both Revan and Celestia immediately covered Kanda, who went in to check on his partner. Still smoldering from his own encounter with the judge, he kneeled next to the hurt combatant, "You still alive there?"

Ash coughed the smoke out from his lungs, "Fuck that hurt, he's a real pain in the ass!"The swordsman grinned, even though blood was drawn the man didn't lose his grit. A man with purpose, just like himself.

From deep within the exorcist a strange yet familiar sensation emerged, he felt it once before and knew what it meant. He reached out to Ash, who was still down on his ass, "The innocence within me has a little something surprise for this tool, accept its power and we will become more powerful together and end this joke of a trial."

Ash was unsure of what the swordsman said but he trusted him nonetheless and reached out to grabbed Kanda's hand. A blue light emerged from within Kanda and engulfed both primes, the luminous light of innocence shined bright throughout the chamber, forcing all eyes to avert their gaze.  "Order in my courtroom! What is this sorcery!?" Roared the judge. Finally the brightness faded and the servant of nebula was able to see once more. No longer were there two separate primes, but one chosen warrior filled with determination and purpose.  The figure stood tall with a chainsaw where his left hand was, a face which was mostly Ash but the long blue hair from Kanda was still untouched. The exorcist coat was returned to its former glory as it finished the look of the newly born prime. Revan, Chara and Celestia were all stumped, still putting the pieces together of what just happened.

The dual voice of the prime was loud as it made its first statement, "I am the chosen exorcist, your death sentence will be executed immediately 'Judge'. Double illusion sword, activate." The power of the exorcist coated the chainsaw, and like Kanda's blades it copied the weapon to his free hand, consisting out of pure innocent energy. With both chainsaws revving loudly the judge took his fighting stance. Heavy books were floating around him, creating a shield for whatever attack was incoming. Little did he know he was no longer fighting one prime, but the combined strength of the two of them.

Like an arrow released from a crossbow the chosen exorcist shot forward, crushing the first line of defense with ease, shredding the books that were shielding the shocked judge. With a calculated blow he intended to counterattack the fused primes, sending his enormous fist towards the incoming missile of chainsaws. Gracefully the exorcist moved past the slow moving attack and found himself mere inches away from his target. The judge's pupils widened as the imminent threat was before him. Without hesitation he prepared to teleport to safety.

"Too late asshole."

With a swift 360 spin the chainsaw's performed Kanda's famous hurricane attack, sending the large minion of nebula flying across the room, crashing into the walls. Nebula's minions were silenced once more.

As Chara ducked to the side of the judge she heard Ash fire his shotgun and decided to gain some distance before redoubling her efforts. She turned around to see a now crispy Ash being taken care of by Yu before a blinding white light over in their direction caused her to look away. Next thing she sees is that the two primes had done something odd to say the least. “What the hell? There were two and now there is one that is a mixture of the two . . . wait did they fuse?”

She was not completely sure of this outcome but it seemed the most likely. She then turned to the judge smiling as she brought her shattered soul. “My soul is not like the others fucko.” It then stitched back together with jet black Hate then said Hate started to consume the soul completely. Her body reacted as it fell to the ground and Hate started to go up her right arm and leg before consuming her entire right side. She felt only one burning emotion Hate “I call this Determination, and it is glorious!” the hate dripped to the ground from her hand staining the carpet and the wood. The others were slightly in awe at her bright red eyes and half of her mouth was bright red.

“Some call me the demon who comes when people call its name. Some have raped me, some have beaten me, some even tried to kill me when i was just a child, for trying to read. Now time to face your justice!” She laughed at her own pain as she tipped her head to the side in interest of the judges next actions.

“ORDER SHALL BE HAD IN MY COURT!” The judge yelled with a voice that could quell most people into listening to him. But she was not like normal humans. She then rushed at the judge who surprised by her form created a thick book only for it to be ripped to shreds as she in a fury continued her assault.

“You have no clue who you are defying judge. I come and i kill those who would threaten my people, or my plans.” She chuckled in broken sanity as she activated her dark chip. Dark energy flowed through her body causing her body to be surrounded by a purple glow and she then started to glitch around the judge. (much like the pokemon move double team)  And then fires slashes at random causing new cuts and pain for the judge. He started to speak in a whimper after ten seconds before yelling. “That is ENOUGH!” He created a gavel and swung at her head; causing her to lose the dark chips power, but before the power could be completely lost. In her unarmed hand a blade of darkness was formed and she impaled the judge in the middle of his chest before smiling as she pulled the knife out only to have the darkchip stop giving her power.

The judge looked at her with all the justice and honor in the world as he spun around using his thick arm as a weapon making her fly away from him.

She was flung into the judge's area before getting up and patting herself down. She winked to the darklings around her before getting back into the fight. She ducked under a gavel before swiping at his legs. The judge was forced to fight two beings of higher power as they worked in unison towards a single goal to stop Nebula.

The Judge hit the wall hard and fell back down to the ground. His body laid on the floor for a second or two then got back up again trying to get over the pain from the attack. Fury fell upon Judgeman and he cracked his whip again but this time, fire engulfed his weapon. The combined primes that were fused into one body stepped toward their foe with three steps but the two had a couple feet between them. Their head looked down at both arms that consisted dual chainsaws as they examine them. After a second looking at their weapons, the chosen exorcist looked back up at the Judgeman with a confident smirk.

"Groovy." replied the symbiote body with their combined voices.

Judgeman cursed under his breath after the catchphrase that his opponent just said and was the first one to attack. He whipped at the combined primes that made a loud crack upon impact. The combined primes launched toward the judge as he made an attack. One of the chainsaws got tangled up from the whip wrapping around its target.  With that, their reaction was to pull downward the arm that got caught up and they used the other one to saw through the whip to break free.

Now within range with their foe, they brought up both arms overhead and strike downward upon Judgeman. As suspected, Judgeman avoided the attack by teleporting behind them to do a surprise attack. From the symbiosis, Yu Kanda's foresight kicked in with the reaction to evade the attack. With a fast sidestep, they dodged the backhand that was swung by the judge. They turned facing the side of the Judge and slashed with one chainsaw arm across the torso area at a great speed.

Judgeman grunted from the pain he felt and tried to face the combine prime body but was hit with another attack by them. Both chainsaws roared loudly as they go for each swing. Books upon books were summoned to stop the attacks but got chewed away quickly from the effective sawing weapons. A fury of chainsaws kept coming upon the judge from Ash's and Yu's rage.

Eventually, Judgeman couldn't keep up with the rhythm and took damage from the dual wield chainsaws impacting him. After getting a hit on the judge, Ash and Yu focused on their next hit which required a lot of strength to do. The judge was getting dazed from the serious moves made by the body of both overwhelming primes with strong spirits.

VRRROOOOOOOM!!!!!!!

Both chainsaws screamed when the symbiotic body made a harsh blow to send their foe flying across the room again. Judgeman landed in the jury box with a crash. Some of the Nebula forces reacted and tried to move out of the way from their incoming leader while others didn't make it out in time. His head shook from the hit he took and felt intense pain in his back. The jury box was turned into a mess with some chairs broken or flipped.  Annoyance loomed over the judge from the liberators defying Nebula's punishment. The combined primes body was still facing at their foe from across the room.

The Judge gritted from the damage he had taken and tried to stand. When trying to stand, Judgeman fell to one knee for a moment but continued to stand up.

"ENOUGH! I'VE HAD IT WITH YOU CRIMINALS! NO ONE WILL DEFY THE LAWS OF NEBULA!!!!!" yammered the judge while standing up straight with his sentence booming through the courtroom that made everyone silenced for a minute.

Celestia was baffled for a moment.  A single figure stood where there had been two once before, and it took her a moment to decipher what had just happened.  Chara summed things up nicely, if in a manner a little more crude than Celestia might have.  She had no idea such things were even possible!  What magic existed that could accomplish such a feat back in Equestria either required a lot of preparation or  carried a great deal of cost in the form of pain and risk.  Usually, it was both.  And here, two primes had combined so casually, in them middle of combat!  Like much of the room, Celestia was stunned for a moment.

The limited peace did not last long.  The judge's rage redoubled, and the combined prime replied with an attack of their own.  One could not afford to waste time in the middle of the crucial battle.  Celestia took to the air again, once more circling and looking for opportunities.  She had a decision to make, and it would have to be made quickly.  Ash and Kanda's attack could provide the perfect opportunity.  The judge had his hands full trying to deal with the fused prime now attacking him, and with his attention so focused it would be the perfect time to strike.  Even if he were to see such an attack coming, he would have to divide his attention further to respond to it, leaving him even more vulnerable.

On the other hoof, they still didn't know how deep Nebula's influence was on this plane, or how far they would have to go to remove the threat.  As impressive as Yu Kanda's efforts were, that can't have been easy to maintain.  Could he last until their task was finished?  If he was going to exert himself dealing with the current threats, it might be best for Celestia to save her strength.

Below, she noticed Chara, having faced a similar decision and choosing to strike now.  After saying a few particularly disturbing things, ones which gave Celestia pause, the child launched into her own strengthened attack.

That made the decision simple.  In truth, Celestia thought Kanda and Ash's efforts might be enough on their own.  If another of her allies was also going to press the advantage, then she should conserve her own resources.  In the even of some emergency in future, she would have the means to step up and deal with the threat.

That did not mean Celestia could not help here either, she would just be focused more on supporting her allies attacks rather than trying to do the damage herself.  From her vantage point she watched as her allies approached the judge as he was recovering from their assault, and felt him in turn prepare an attack of his own.  Celestia could feel the faint buildup of energy which preceded a pillar, flame this time if she was reading it correctly, just ahead of the judge.  She didn't give him the luxury of focus, firing a ray of heat down on him from above.

The battle seemed to have taken a turn for the better, somehow Ash and Yu Kanda had combined themselves forming into some sort of higher powered warrior. Chara also appeared to now be changing colours and Revan did not fail to notice the use of one of the dark chips that the team was carrying. Revan knew that he had to keep fighting for his team against this crazed so called judge.
Bringing up his sword in line with his body he charged but far more careful then before, this time taking his time and concentrating on where the Judge would strike next.

Judge man did not fail to see him coming and in a single teleport for a moment broke off from the rest moving in front of Revan perhaps now considering that he was the weakest link in the team. Revan had no intention of allowing himself to be taken down so easily. The judge reformed his whip in his hand and it was quickly coated in a mixture of purple and black dark energy as it rippled preparing to be swung. Revan knew that an attack was coming and so was already preparing to dodge, a moment later as expected the dark whip swung next to him where he had been a moment before.

Past the first strike Revan prepared for a strike on a point he hoped would weaken his enemy for the others, Judgemans arm was extended and Revan wondered if the Judge was losing focus. Judgeman saw Revan flying through the air towards him and attempted to use his time powers to fix his mistake while also drawing his arm back in intending to entangle Revan completely in the whips devastating strike. The dark energy of the whip encircled Revan as it began to change into one of flaming light.
Revan only had a moment to act as he gained as much height as he could removing him from the entrapment and then making sure his legs avoided the flames he came down on the Judges arm using his weight to slice through Judgemans whipping arm.

Before he could do anything else however the gavel in the other arm swung into his face again launching him back over to Celestia.
Revan felt the full pain of being clunked on the skull and his hood did little to protect him from such a blow especially considering how weakened he had been already. He brought his sword up and dug it into the ground of the courtroom using it to force himself to stand once more, he was not out of this fight yet but he really couldn't handle facing all of these Omniverse abominations much longer.

"Are you ok Celestia?" He asked the flying alicorn more worried about her then his own wounds.

No sooner had Judgeman dispatched the hooded swordsman was he aggressed once more by the  recently fused Chosen Executioner, twin chainsaws tearing into the Navi’s breastplate as he was driven back into the jury box. Oil dribbled from his various wounds, sparks flying from exposed circuitry as he crashed into the wooden pews. The combined efforts of the five defendants had taken their toll on the jurist, leaving him now at the mercy of the dark-haired amalgam. He had done his best to maintain his composure, to strike down the wrongdoers. Had they no honor, no sense of justice?

“Motion to set aside judgement?” the gestalt jeered, gazing down at the wounded magistrate with a mocking grin. He stood upon the railing, pausing as he raised an imbued chainsaw-limb, the weapon’s teeth gnashing as it roared its approval. “Motion carried,” the fused duo replied, as if one were answering the other. With an almost imperceptible nod, they swung, delivering their verdict.

The bladed limb chewed air for an instant before Judgeman man made his move, sparks flying as his armored mitt wrapped around the guidebar, his grip causing the saw’s chain to stall altogether. “Denied,” he snarled, voice now noticeably bassier and his eyes wild and unfocused. ”WITH PREJUDICE!”

The warrior amalgam’s allies could only watch as Judgeman once more got to his feet, fury raging behind his cybernetic eyes. A instant later the Navi had released the chainsaw, taking the opportunity to plant a mammoth boot in the sternum of his stunned foe, flinging the Chosen into the gallery with newfound strength. Not wasting another second, the frenzied arbiter leapt from the box and charged, crashing across the well like a bull in a china shop, tiles splintering beneath his feet as he rampaged toward Chara. She attempted to evade, though Judgeman’s frenzied speed matched her flavor of teleportation with apparent ease. The jurist once more found the handle of his gavel, bashing the girl’s torso with an almighty heave. He watched with pleasure as she impacted the witness stand.

“THE COURT FINDS YOU IN CONTEMPT,” Judgeman roared, whipping around as the familiar bite of powersaw crossed his shoulder. The Chosen’s eyes widened as his tool’s teeth rebounded against the arbiter’s iron hide, shallow scratches appearing where he knew deep slashes should rightly be. “DISPATCHING WITH IMPUNITY!”

“Move!”

The magistrate turned toward the source of the command, the fused warrior taking the advice as Celestia lowered a pillar of fire upon their cybernetic foe. A battered Revan stood by her side, letting loose his own brand of magic while he had the opportunity. They didn’t let up, pouring magical energy in his direction with as much power as they could muster...that was, until the all-too-familiar shape of an enormous book sprang up up from beneath their feet, staggering them and blocking the destructive magic from reaching their target.

DEATH,” Judgeman bellowed his sentence, still surrounded by a wall of flames licking up around his torso. His book shield snapped shut and vanished as he summoned a storm of pages from an outstretched palm, the papery projectiles catching fire as they sprayed helter-skelter throughout the courtroom.
