’Ow… My head is killing me…

”This is some Convention huh?”

Angel immediately shot up as she heard the familiar voice, she would’ve been quite happy to have continued laying there, letting her headache go into the endless black void, but there was something about that voice, like she needed to cling onto every word it said. She wasn’t even sure whose it was, but she knew it off by heart. Looking around the immediate facility didn’t help as it was completely white and barren except for the fountain directly behind her, It’s glossy blank marble completely contrasting with the rest of the scenery, or lack thereof as it depicted a strange human-like figure, it’s limbs much too long and lanky to be realistic, and the face, if you could even call it that, all but a mouth full of rows upon rows of sharp teeth, like something from one of her more graphic of obsessions.

’Let’s see, if I can remember correctly, that’s the Wendigo from Mythos Unbound, first introduced in… series 3? God that was a good series, a little corny, but most of the old ones were like that.’

The female thought now would be a good time to get up and explore around the place, she didn’t need to start nick-picky about whatever flaws the statue had. That was, until she saw herself in the water.

’Seriously… while I’ll admit whoever gave me these clothes had good taste, I put a lot of time into that cosplay. Sure not a lot of material, and therefore not a lot of money, but a lot of time nevertheless.’

That brought another question to the girl of aqua blue hair’s mind; who did change her clothes? Probably whoever got her here, please let it have been a female…

Angel tried her hardest to remember the events from before her black out. She had just finished talking with a group she had planned to meet up with later, then she went over to look at that stall… Did she even make it there? She remembers doing so, but felt like she passed out before hand, she wasn’t saw why she would’ve randomly fell to the floor like that, so she assumed the first. She got there and then, nothing… No, wait, there was dialog, from a humanoid, they explained what this place was, and about Omnilium. But when did she meet him? Was he behind the booth? Did he and the surroundings just appear out of nowhere?

Angel groaned at a sudden pain in her head, maybe it was better to leave the jigsaw puzzle that was her memories alone right now and focus on the current situation, but where to start...

The elevator doors slide open to reveal a very tussled and dazed Jakob. He still wasn't sure what all that was with the red-head. He was staring at his reflection when the idea occurred to him that he might not look like he just made out with a stranger. Summoning a simple bandanna he rubbed off the lipstick using the shiny inside of the doors as a mirror, and his spit as soap. He noted passively that her lipstick felt like it had moisturizers in it because the sting in his chapped lips wasn't as strong at the moment. For the moment, as soon as he would rub it off he'd probably feel it. He was in mid lip clean up when the doors opened at the final tier. He finished up, pocketed the bandanna and then proceeded to the gate to the Nexus.

Then through the gate.

On the other side, the stormtroopers looked upon him with suspicion but did not say any words. And he did not say any words to them. Of course, he could barely see them as he closed his eyes and rubbed his fleshy hand in one of them while his shiny red arm stayed at his side. He cursed quietly to himself and tried to remember when he last saw this cursed place. It blinded him how bright and white it was. He wondered at that moment why he wanted to get to Frozen Fields when it would just be a lot more of this.

Either way, he should probably get started on that.

Jakob was smart, under all that drug abuse there was someone of master intelligence. It was slugged down by the Bliss still coursing through his body, and he was okay with that. However, his perception and sense of direction were murky at the moment. On top of not being completely aware of where this verse was located, Jakob was forced to make his way in the only direction he could while semi-blind. Forward. Eventually, he'd run into something, or his eyes would adjust.

Angel walked around the white space, it’s barrenness inviting feelings of loneliness and questioning. Most predominantly, who was that voice and why did she feel so strongly towards it. Despite being lost in thought she looked up every once in awhile to make sure that there was nothing interesting that could either distract her or help her out. That’s when she saw him.

Her heart immediately lifted itself into the air, joy running through her body as she saw him in his black baggy jeans and black hooded vest.

“You're here, you're here!” She could hear herself saying as she ran over to him, squeezing the poor man tightly. “I thought maybe I was the only one of us...”

For a badass rigger, Jakob was surprisingly soft. He grunted while being squeezed. Jakob looked around with confusion, "No, I am here." He said with the thick accent, slow dull tone that Jakob was known for.

Angel felt her heart sink back down again as she didn’t hear the voice she was expecting, she didn’t know what voice she did expect, but that wasn’t it. Still, she thought it sounded familiar though.

She looked up as she began to apologize. “I’m sorry… I mistook you for…” As she got to his face, it made her own light up, her eyes widening in both disbelief and pleasure. “Your-Your…” Could it really be? He was, or should be, imaginary… but, this whole thing seemed like it belonged it a work of fiction, even if it was a fever dream the guy was standing right there in front of her. “Your Jackob Volkov!” Out of nowhere the girl jumped up to hug him around the neck.

This sort of bothered Jakob, his face twisting in suspicious confusion. He hesitated to harm a girl though who looked enthusiastic to see him. "Da. I am Jakob."

It was only then that Angel’s senses got a hold of her, realizing she was hugging someone who probably had no idea who she was. She back away slowly, slightly embarrassed about what just happened. “I’m Angel.” The blue haired woman said naturally, happily smiling as if she the awkward hugging business never happened. “I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable...” She didn’t see any signs of discomfort, but this is Jackob we are talking about. “You're famous where I came from and I sort of get carry away sometimes…”

"You are from Russia, then?"  It would occur to her at this clear headed point that Jakob was most known in Russia. His shenanigans in The States, while the main focus of his story, weren't publicly pinned on him. This must have also occurred to the drug-addicts slowed mind because he added, "No. You have face of a girl too happy for that. You are Runner!" He sounded triumphant and smiled brightly, like he solved a hard puzzle. He touches his nose with the sign of his victory. "We have job?" He didn't remember getting a call, but he didn't remember a lot.

Angel had always wondered what it would have been like to be a runner, most of the time it ended in her convincing herself she couldn’t handle all the gore. Sure she could while watching the movie, but they weren't real people, except apparently one was. “Uh… not exactly. Truth be told I only just woke up here, I don’t remember what I was doing before but… I think I would remember if I was on a mission at least…” Angel’s voice didn’t sound to confident as she said this, sute she wasn’t technically lying, but she was still nervous of the consequences of what might happen if she let his assumptions go too far.

That explained why he couldn't remember. "You are Prime then, yes? Yes. Just like me." he points to his chest, not as proudly as before and with his thumb. He wraps his arm around her to turn them around and points in the direction he came from with his famous red arm. And she how he must of felt. "Coruscant iz that a-way. But dat iz boring." he turned back towards the opposite horizon. "Dat is vhere we want to go. New places." he vaguely remembered something at that point. "Oh.. I waz headed to Inn.." His red arm fell limp at his side. She would know why his memory was so good it surprised other characters. It just took a second "..Somevhere"

It was at this point that young blue haired lass felt something inside her, a sense of adventure, much like the ones she would get back home, watching her favorite protagonists, but this time there was no screen to stop her from fulfilling it. “Well then let’s go!” She said cheerfully, pulling her pal by his red arm in a random direction.

Jakob didn't refuse her hand pulling and followed all the same. He wasn't even paying attention to their destination point, and at some point of endless walking, she wasn't so excited about it either. He was carried on inside his head, a song stuck there and refusing to leave when she turned back to him several times before finally saying something. "Jakob?"

"Yes?"

"Why did you get into running?" She asked she knew the answer, but she wanted to hear it from him. She still couldn't believe she was here with Jakob Volkov.

Jakob looked at her, then looked up at the equally blank space int he sky. He thought and thought, and thought some more. But he found it impossible to remember the reason. It wasn't his fault, his reason has long since been laid to rest. But to remember would cause him greater pain, pain that no matter how many doses of bliss he took afterward would drive him mad... To spare himself, he blocked out as much as he could...

He stared at Angel's long aqua hair and a familiar smile came to his memory that filled him momentarily of pride and comfort. Only when he tried to focus on it more, it hurt his head. Jakob rubbed his temple with his free hand. "For money." He said, not lying, but not elaborating in the truth. She'd understand instantly. There was a pause before Jakob began to remember how normal conversations happened. "Eh... And you? You run because?"

"Eh... I just sort of got into it..." Angel said, it technically wasn't a lie, and if Jackob didn't have to elaborate on the truth neither did she. "One of my freinds was in the running business for years, when I eventrully asked what they did, they showed me, it was the most fun I had in ages. I guess it turned into a habit..."

Jakob continued to let her pull him along, not finding any reason to fight it. She sure was pretty, too. He hasn't talked to any one person in a long time, and struggled with the formalities or polite conversation. There was some awkwardness and a lot of silence. "Vat... Vhat did your friend do?"

Angel legitimately had to think on that one, what would her freind had been, she had had multiple conversations like about stuff like that, at least, before they left... "Magician..." She said, her charismatic nature seemingto slip away. 'yeah right.' she thought to herself. 'Like he could ever read my feelings...'

"Ah. Like Anja." Jakob said almost automatically, but then looked very lost. He vaguely remembered who Anja was. She was also known as Valkyrie, she was also the doctor who had a hand in his arm. She saved his life, and then gave him a couch to stay on when he needed one. He remembered a little girl by the name of Eve.. How saving her was the most important thing to him. And when he did, he was content. Jakob lost track of his thoughts and eventually shook his head and looked at her, giving her an odd smile. Then he must have realized he needed to say something. "Oh. Vhat to you do?"

"Hacker." The girl said almost immediately. She learned how to code originally to try and make her own vidiogmes, it spiral out of control to fixing machines and creating her own virus protection software. So hacking was ine thing she definitely knew how to do.

Jakob nodded, but then shook his head. "Are you good?"

"I wouldn't say I'm as good as some of the pros out there..." Angel returned, not really sure how she would compare to the fictional charaters themselves. "But I did once managed to hack into a phonecall using nothing but a hairpin and some wire." She was 'experimenting' at the time.

Jakob was a bit confused, but only his usual outer confused looks showed. He didn't know where to go with this. He then began to inspect her hair, wondering if she had any of those pins. "Vhat was the phonecall about?"

"Nothing major, just someone calling their gradma." Angel could see the guy was getting more confused by this statement. "I said I managed to hack into a phone call, never said it was the right one. Bet you couldn't do any better though." She teased.

Jakob smiled at her teasing, a goofy smile. "Oh, yeah?" His thick accent shining through. "Give me your cyberdeck, I vill show you."

"Umm..." Angel had no idea what to say to this. "I... I don't have one on me."

"No cyberdeck...?" Jakob questioned. "Just summon, it then." He said, stopping her, then his fleshy hand waves at her arm. "We can wait."

"Summon...?" Angel had no idea what this ment but didn't question it. Mostly becurse of the fact that they stopped her.
"Yes. You are Prime, like me. Just vill it into existence." He said, shaking his red arm free to position it with his real arm. Holding his palms up and letting is very soul become something of desire. He had a hard time picturing anything that wasn't a cyberdeck, but since he only used one once or twice he was having a hard time picturing it. What he did know was his Rigger Control Console, and above his arms appeared a suitcase looking object. It materialized after a few minutes, and then fell into his hands. He grinned down at it, and then showed it to her like a trophy. "See!"

Angel’s eyes widened in awe as she watched the various colors of light moved around and above Jacob's arms. It seemed out of place that the Rigger was able to do this, or more accurately, Jacob and and Angel seemed out of place in this… wherever it was she had ended up. ‘Prime’ was another thing new thing that was here, whatever that word ment…

The soft blued-haired girl’s thought see were interrupted by Jacob’s sort interjection. “Y-yeah, I saw…”

"You try, yes?" He said, motioning with his Rigger Control Console before holding it effortlessly in his mechanical arm and swirling his free hand to summon up a strap so he can carry it without carrying it. This also took a couple of minutes, but when he was done he now looked more his character. Ready to jump into a mech if it ever walked by.

Angel gulped at this. She had no idea what she was doing, had no idea how to summon, except, she did. She could feel it crawling around inside her body, an instinct wanting to be unleashed, so she let it.

She closed her eyes and looked up, taking in a deep breath. She imagined what she wanted, her own cyberdeck, the centerpiece of it a red glowing diamond in the shape of a vertically stretched out hexagon. Either side of it a black quadrilateral with a silver rim, whose ends sloped outwards, before the corners curved back in, making the whole thing seem bird like in the process, the glowy red keyboard split in half between the two ‘wings’.

Unlike Jacobs Control Console, Angels summoning was neither full of flashy fireworks or up in the air, instead, it started off by creating a green wire frame, like one would see in a 3D modeling program, around her arm in the shape of her Cyber-Bird-Deck, before light slowly crumpled off of it to reveal the solid object from Angels mind.

Jakob hooked up the strap in the meantime, fiddling with the metal clips as delicately as possible with his fleshy hand. It was the more dexterous of the two, but his fingers were burnt from exposed wires and probably suffered some degree of nerve damage because of it. She could guess that his Bliss use either helped or made that worse. After all it was a substance that slowed your reaction but deadened your pain receptors. Without knowing the story one had to guess if Jakob touched the wires before or after a dose of Bliss.

He wrapped the newly attached strap over the opposite shoulder and looked at her while she summoned a unique cyberdeck. He appreciated the bird-like appearance from afar. "Nice. Now, I use. I show you." He said, not forgetting her challenge as easily as he forgot his reasons for being here.

“Use it on what?” Angel questioned, spinning around with arms in the air as if to point at everything and nothing. “There is nothing around here to hack.” Her teasing tone was painfully obvious.

Jakob stopped with his mouth open to respond, only to look around and find nothing. Just painful whiteness with doors in the distance..

He thought about it for some time, scratching his hand through his dirty hair. He then had a stroke of inspiration and flipped his Rigger Console over. "I hack dis." He said, as if his thick accent could hide the obvious issues with him trying to hack something that was already his.

“You know that thing inside and out.” the girl returned, “That would be like someone trying to break into their own house, and it wouldn’t be fair if it wasn’t a challenge, now would it.”

He frowned at her. "Vell, vhat do you purpose I hack? Your Commlink? Dat is not efficient. You would have to disconnect it and then the Cyberdeck would not work. Especially when I do not have one." There was a short pause. "Oh. Wait." He then began to summon what is a cellphone in his world, called a Commlink.

Angel watched as the device was summoned, she immediately knew what he was planning to do, his tone of talking from earlier not really keeping much secret. Angel, by pressing a button on the cyberdeck’s undercarriage, made the ‘back of the bird turn to the girl's wrist. The dimond soon slid into two halves, revealing what appeared to be a hot pink flip phone. After a few seconds of careful fiddling, Angel had got her prize out, causing the cyberdecks arm holder to expand, and allowing for easy removal by sliding. “Here.”

Jakob gently took the Cyberdeck and fit his newly created Commlink into place. He found a little difficult with his hand, but managed a gentle enough touch. He struggled to turn it on, if only because it was not his usual machine. He might have made any other Decker grimace as he handled the cyberdeck, but he eventually got to menus he understood. Only to frown. He looked over at her, then back to the deck, then over to her. "You cleared the programs..." He accused her.

“How could I?” Angel questioned. “You saw me, I didn’t touch a single click on a single menu. And the only button on the bottom of it is the one to open it so you can change Commlinks.”

He glanced over at her hands, overtly so. It was hot pink and small, and nothing like what he knew. "That?" He asked, pointing to it. "That's not a Commlink." He said, moving closer, and opening his hand for her thing. "Iz it?"

“I mean, why would it have been summoned into there if it wasn’t?” Truth be told, Angel had no idea herself what was going on, but maybe she could bluff her way through this, there was definitely no turning back now. “Just give me that back and let me show you.”

She wasted no time in getting her deck of the rigger, and quickly put it on her arm, the hot pink phone snugly firmly into the spot it got out of. “Let’s hope this works.” Navigating through the menus like she saw jacob do just a minute or so ago, she managed to get ti the menu he was looking for, everything there in plain view.

Jakob came closer, uncomfortably close. He didn't know what a personal bubble was, but even knowing that Angel understood he was inspecting it very carefully. She'd feel his chest against her back as he lowered his face to look over her shoulder. "It iz.." He sounded confused.

Angel tried to think of a excuse of why hers his one didn’t work with her cyberdeck. “Many worlds…”

“Huh?” The sound of Jacob surprised Angel, her admitting to herself that she had nearly forgot about him somehow.

”Do you know the many worlds interpretation?” Angel asked, hoping she wouldn’t have to explain all that much.

Jakob looked like he was thinking really hard about what she was talking about, and she could just see the failure to recognize it in his mind. She could guess he did know, but maybe couldn't recall being who he was and how he operated. Nevertheless, he failed to recall what she was talking about. He would not admit it though. "Yes." He lied, terribly.

“Good.” Angel knew he was lying, that didn’t stop her from making her seem like she believed him though. “As you know, the theory states that for every action that happens, all results happen at the same time, just in different worlds, each on being near Identical except for small differences. Maybe, we are from two different ‘worlds’, alternate universes if you will.”

"And you think dat iz why I cannot use your cyberdeck?" He turned so their faces were mere centimeters away. At last he seemed to become aware of how close he has gotten, and stood up straight so he was less in her personal space. "Dat make ze most sense." He admitted, then added: "Especially because Omni takes from other universes and dis whole place iz a mash-up of things."

‘Omni…’ She had heard that name before… but where… It was then the image of the white man appeared in her head again, Angel clutching her head as a headache threatened to form.

When one thought of Jakob, from a fan's perspective, one did not immediately go to his kindness. The opposite, Mr. Volkov was highly renown for his brutality. But here, Jakob touched her with a gentle hand and looked upon her in confusion and concern. "Angel?"

“It-It’s fine…” Angel lied, almost as badly as jacob had. She had no idea who this man was, but she find it better to just ignore the images, despite his words having helpful information, it hurt less, and as seen she can learn the rest of it elsewhere.

"You want to sit down?" Jakob asked, not understanding what happened but understanding what pain was. He understood pain a great deal. He'd offer her Bliss to take the edge off, but he also knew how bad of an idea that was. Besides, she was too pretty to get wrapped up in the likes of drugs.

“S-sure…” The girl leaned onto Jackob as if asking him to lend her support and balance. “It looks likes there is a chair over there.” Angel pointed in the direction of a brown little bench, overshadowed by the statue of two men dancing with the one girl. “By that fountain.”

Jakob didn't even realize how close they were to The Fountain, he nodded but chose to pick her up instead of babying his steps. It was more efficient in his mind, but less so on the social scale - which he has already proven he has no idea even exists. He carried her over to the bench and sat her down as carefully as he could, before setting on the bench beside her. "It haz been a long bit since I have been here." He mentioned, vaguely. Motioning to The Fountain. "But dat vas an 'eeleevator' when I vas here last." This brought on memories of his ride up the Tiers of Coruscant, he unconsciously rubbed at his cheek, hoping he got all of the lipstick off. Women and their cosmetics…

“Are you sure there just isn’t more than one fountain?” She said, leaning on his shoulder and looking up lazily at him. Man did the headache drain the girl more then she wanted to admit.

"No. It changes. I hear story about it." Jakob said, unfazed by the girl leaning on him, other than putting his arm over the back of the bench so she could be comfortable.

“Well last time I was here it was a Wendigo…” Angel said, just believing him, she was in no mood to argue and other just as mysterious things had happened since she got here. “...Which means that I walked in circles.”

Jakob looked around at that, up to the white blank sky, down to the similar blank floor. "Vell, they say that if you do not have a focal point, it is easy to walk in circles." He said, pulling a piece of wisdom out of his ass. Where these tidbits came from were beyond him. And the irony of the statement given his focal point has vanished from memory was lost on him. "We should, maybe, come up with a direction." He explained, glancing about. "We can go to the beach, or... the city. Or.. We could go to the volcano?"

“The beach sounds fun.” Angel admitted, looking down at the Deck. “That’s weird, I thought it was some kind of after effect at first, but it seems that this desolate place somehow has a wireless connection.”

Jakob looked down at it too, confused at first until he remembered. "Oh.. Yes. Dataverse. It iz like Matrix, but physical. And digital?" He more asked then said. He was no stranger to it, but he never questioned the Dataverse, til now. He nodded. "It iz VR and AR, and Matrix. It iz strange."

Thinking it was better than doing nothing the blue haired girl just started fiddling arounds on the dataverse, looking, not for anything in particular, but just looking. Then she found something.

“Des and Angel are here too!?” Angel immediately shot up, her voice the same overly excited high pitched near scream it was when she first saw Jacob,. "We definitely have to go to the beach now.”

This time the endless void of terror was white. Comforting. Absolute nothingness extended in every direction and on instinct Cade mentally reached for his suit’s scanning abilities. Nano-machines flowed up his spine from the node on his back, up his neck, and formed his faceplate over his skin like liquid. The more armored silver temples and cheeks transformed into place, sliding mechanically over the mesh. His Heads-Up-Display flared to life… then exploded.

Too much information too fast bombarded the young man, orange lights flashing and disappearing as both human and alien languages flitted across his vision. The Apparatus desperately tried to scan the empty environment, but the combination of unknown interference and absolute nothing strained it to the limit. He had first row seats to a 3D fireworks show inside his brain and it was too much. A deafening combination of visual and auditory feedback bombarded his senses and Cade stumbled backwards, shouting.

Kūamuamu! Stupid suit! Gah, my EYES you son of a-

He clawed desperately at his mask, hoping to manually deactivate the helm. His foot caught on something hard as he struggled and he flopped onto the ground. He grunted, but kept at the tearing. Finally he found some leeway and was able to tear away the mesh and free his face. The temporary reprieve from his HUD’s sensory overload allowed Cade the clarity of mind to will his helm away. It transformed backwards, disappearing into the nape of his neck under his hooded sweatshirt. He let his body relax, flopping backwards and closing his eyes. Cade took a deep breath through his nose and held it, tying to wrap his head around whatever the hell was going on.

He released the breath and opened his eyes. His vision was blurred and spotty, but no longer assaulted by the orange lightshow that his HUD had devolved into becoming. Whatever this place was, it had royally screwed up his systems. Cade could physically feel the Nano-machines straining, almost like they were under some sort of pressure. The Apparatus pulsed under his skin and inside the node on his spine. It was insanely uncomfortable and a bit warm, but not painful. His vision started to clear as he blinked away the dancing lights left behind by his HUD’s fiasco. He was greeted by a fountain, one characterized by a pair of stone men waltzing gracefully and accompanied by a little girl.

Somehow, that ended up being the strangest thing Cade had seen yet. It was so out of place. He groaned and rubbed his eyes, still absolutely flabbergasted. First some weird smiling child, then the nothing, now this fountain? At least it was decently nice. He suppressed the desire to attempt another scan, as was his habit, and instead let his fists rest over his eyeballs. It was darker that way and he felt like he was giving his poor peepers a rest. Cade took another deep breath and removed his hands on the exhale, hoping that he would be back home in bed, maybe a bit late for a surf session with Kirby and Gwen. Instead, he was still in the ivory hell, still next to the fountain, and this time staring up at the confused and interested faces of two people: a man with a red arm and a girl with bright blue hair. It was at this moment Cade accepted that he was doomed to never see anything logical again. At the very least, he could be polite.

Um… Aloha.”

Privet.” The man looked at the girl. “See? He iz Prime.”

I’m a what?

“Prime.” The man looked back at him, a thick Russian accent coloring his words. “Welcome to Omniverse.”

Uh… thank you sir. Ma’am.” Cade tried to smile past the confusion. “I’m, uh… I’m Cade. Cade Faulkner.

The sound of plastic pumps tapping against modern-day Paris - 1970’s - could be heard echoing in the silence of the night. Late night. When the air was crisp and no one in their right mind would be out. Least not of all a young woman with the smallest frame and petite figure in all of the country. Her light brown bob bounced with each step, her shiny red glasses reflecting the romantic illumination of the street lamps, and her red painted lips pulled back in just a simple smile.

She even hummed a tune, a child’s nursery rhyme about pulling apart a pigeon. It was created to teach children the words for body parts. “A la Tete, a la Tete.” Cassandra sang before returning to the wordless humming. Her voice was soft, gentle, and very pleasant to the ears. She could possibly be a superstar if it weren't for her stage fright.

She was very good looking, too. She had the blood of two very good families of old coursing through her, from when they were very young. She was blessed with a smooth complexion, although a pale one. She was a healthy weight, no skin, and bones about her. Paired with today’s - in that 1970th year - she looked most attractive. If only she were a bit taller, maybe they would hire her to model clothes.

Though these were not exotic clothes from Paris like one might imagine a girl like this wearing, but a simple button up with a collar, light coral in color, and a dark brown A-line pleated skirt worn over a petticoat slip. She wore simple black stockings which covered most of her legs. And of course, polished red pumps with a solid 1-inch heel.

She paused to look around, turning her vision higher and glancing all around, like a tourist she made a 360 turn. Whatever it was she was looking for was unclear, but it appeared that she was trying to read the street signs. Something was strange about one of them in particular, like the words were jumbled up and incoherent. Something misleading. The woman decided to take that route if only to feel like Alice for a moment.

Nothing of strangeness happened as the mysterious signs lead Miss Myst to the docks. In fact, the strangest part of this whole night - now - was that she was even this close to the water. When she was a little younger she had been forced to endure the pain of fresh water burning her skin, had it not been the man who’d saved her from death so many years ago she might have resented him. Had he not been there to soothe her burns and save her from scarring, she might have been worse off than just being a little aquaphobic.

In fact, it took her a lot of convincing herself to move onto the boards of the dock. French ships bobbed sleepily on either side of her as she slowly stepped along the length of the dock. The wind was stronger here, and blew her hair out of her face, leaving goosebumps across her delicate skin. She glanced at each boat as she passed, trying to see why she was brought here. After all, she was into that kind of thing. Astrology, signs from the other side, voodoo and all other signs of superstition.

Instead, she only found water. Black water with a glossy surface and an endless bottom…

She heard something, nails being pried out of wood, or planks being crowbarred by the police in order to get into an abandoned building full of helpless women - she included. She looked back to see not one but two planks of the dock had been pried off and were just floating there, a third one magically doing the same, they were no further than three meters from her. She was stunned while the third and even a fourth one was pulled out. But as the fifth and sixth were yanked away, she realized she should do something. Getting back to her feet she tried to concentrate to teleport to safety, only for the dock to rock back and forth, to and fro. She began to feel seasick and delusional, but more importantly less focused on escape.

Like it was a toy in the hands of a child, the shrinking part of the dock twisted and turned. Her footing was solid for a few more minutes before the young woman stumbled out of one shoe. Her socked toes press firmly against the board that was undoubtedly the next to be free, trying to remain on her feet. Her hands flailed for balance before she stumbled back and out of the other shoe. Her hands claw at the air as she tried desperately not to fall, but nothing could stop her from looking back and seeing the darkness open like the maw of Cthulhu itself.

There was a scream that pierced the night as she fell, and kept falling. Like Alice down the rabbit hole. The darkness consumed her…

It was hard to tell if Cassandra opened her eyes, or if the white grinning figure just appeared in the darkness. It grinned harder, she meant to say something, but her throat locked up and she could not hear her own voice. It did not bother this creature before her.

Quote:”Je m'appelle Omni.

Myst was appalled on top of being confused, and a little frightened. What did he mean? Did she interest him? What was he going to do to her? Flashbacks from the decades passed her vision, mentally and oculately. Her mind wandered, but then he caught her attention once more.

Quote:Omni hands you a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. ”C'est Omnilium. C'est ce qui lie l'Omnivers ensemble. Sans cela, vous n'êtes rien. Avec cela, tout ce que vous désirez peut être le vôtre. Mais vous aurez besoin de plus que cela. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.

‘You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.”

This was getting more and more unsettling to the young woman that floated beside the strange child-like creature, like a jellyfish in the ocean. Hopelessly alone, no idea what is happening, and really only care about survival from this point on. She tried desperately to ask questions, but he simply dismissed her. Sandy doesn’t even notice how fluidly the male’s French turned to English. She’s studied the language enough to get by, but later she would realize she understood it perfectly now.

Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

(( OoC: I did not technically change anything in the intro, other than the language at first. I wanted to explain how she went from only ever speaking French to knowing the ‘common’ of the OV. If Omni disapproves, I will edit it to the original full English version. ))

With that, the darkness consumes again, and a moment later, white. All things white. Even as the woman falls from the sky and into that fountain, narrowly missing the dancing figures, she could see endless white.

>>SPLASH<<

The fountain of infinity as even a fountain was deep. Sandra’s whole body was consumed in one gulp, she could not see the bottom, she could not see the edges, she only saw darkness like before. The woman began to panic. Air escaping her mouth in the form of a curtain of bubbles that rose to reveal her tragedy. The woman kicked and pawed for the surface, but even as she broke it for fresh air, she fell under again. Stress and panic driving her under like an anchor.

Beside the fountain, it was Cade that lept into action first. He was no stranger to the sounds of panic and pleads for aid. His ears tuned for it, really. Leaping to his feet and chasing the sound to the fountain he watched for only a nano-second as someone drowned. Centurion vaulted over the edge with an unintentional flourish of his body and dove into the surprisingly deep bowl of the fountain.

He felt the familiar pressure of water hugging his impressive athletic body before he breast stroked towards the woman. Upon his approach he hesitated, water rescues were difficult because the victim tended to not understand how to be rescued. He couldn’t hold off until she got tired though, he was already too late in his own opinion.

To his surprise as soon as he touched her firmly and his legs began to tread water, she relaxed in his arms. Though relaxed wouldn’t be the exact word. As they tended to, the woman wrapped her arms around him for dear life, but she did not shove him down in an attempt to save her own life. Whoever she was must be used to being saved from the water because after a moment to ensure he really did have her, she lifted her chin up over the water to start to breathe normally. He was appreciative of this, as he did not really want to struggle with breath himself. He gave her a moment before speaking. “Are you alright?”

Water plagued her ears, but she had heard. “Oui.” She said, out of instinct and reaction, but she knew that he was not speaking French. She swallowed hard, then repeated. “Yes.”

“Can you swim?” The Centurion asked, maybe she had just panicked.

She was quick to look him in the eyes, or as much as she could with water on her glasses. He could see the fear in her eyes, nothing could hide it. “Non. Monsieur, no. Please do not let me go.” She pleaded.

His heart sank, and he shook his head. “I’ve got you, just relax, okay?” She nodded, and he showed her where to hold on to him before slowly swimming over to the edge. “Jakob, give me a hand?”

Jakob had been standing by now, watching, waiting. He reached his hands up for a sarcastic clap, but Angel was quick to grab one of them - the fleshier one - and shake her head. He gave her a disappointed look but didn’t waste any more time than that before going over to help. Angel trailed behind if only to not be in their way.

The fountain’s edge came to Jakob’s lower chest, he reached right into the water with both of them and scooped the girl up like a goldfish at a carnival. Cade watched as Jakob’s robotic red arm picked the girl up effortlessly. He could not tell if it was the lack of real weight like most thing in the water, if she was truly light, or if the effort was so great that the weight seemed negative to him, but in seconds she was out of the water and being guided to the ground. Cade casually jumped out to lean beside her as well.

The two gave her her air, but Cade rubbed her back in an attempt to help her breath easier while she coughed up the water she’d swallowed before being saved.

Behind them, Angel finally recognized not only the superhero that was in her presence but the woman he saved. Her heart began to rapidly beat and her head felt light. Her eyes widened to dinner plates and Angel took short breaths as she tried to deal with the fact that there were three very cool characters in front of her from various things she’s seen. The Centurion was a comic book character, Jakob had most likely blown his way through the movie screen into real life, and here was even Cassandra Janet Myst!!

She tried to speak, tried to scream, tried to do nerd out as hard as she could times three. Instead, her eyes rolled back and her body went limp, Angel fell back with a loud thud. Fainted.
#8
Myst was the one that was alerted to Angel’s faint first. She gasped and reached up for her, but the blue haired woman was already a stiff board and dropping. Cade stiffened a moment before they heard the thud, then simultaneously felt bad and smiled. This was a lovely mess, wasn’t it? “Take care of this one, I’ll see if she is okay.” Cade offered, leaving Sandra’s side for Angel. He checked her pulse, found it racing even after passing out.

Jakob watched a moment, before turning back to the woman before him. “Are you okay?”

Cassandra looked passed them for a moment, clearly worried about her, then turned to him. “Oui. I mean, yes.” The man with the shiny red arm didn’t look all that confused by her mistake. “Um.. Parlez-vous Francais?” Jakob just stared at her blankly. She guessed not. “Will she be okay?”

“She just fainted, that’s all,” Cade assured their guest.

“Yes.” The Russian said, with a lighter accent than the French woman, his tone flat but still very colorful.

“Daccord.” Myst said with a sigh and a touch of her chest. “Where am I?”

Jakob wondered if no one paid attention to the white man, or if maybe he dreamed up this Omni figure and he was the only one. “The Om-ni-verse.” Jakob had to explain slowly because his tongue was not used to forming complicated words and thoughts. “You are Prime, Omni summoned you.”

“Prime?” The woman repeated thoughtfully, then it all made sense. Omni was that guy, non? “Zat is correct. I zaw him, just before I…” She looked over her shoulder at the fountain, not enjoying the idea of water any more than she did before. Cassandra then turned to Cade. “Merci beaucoup. Thank you.” She translated, taking off her glasses and rubbing her eyes. They were a defined green.

She went to clean her glasses but remembered she was a wet mess. Luckily for her, Jakob knew what she was doing. He took off his hooded vest and then his shirt. About this time Angel momentarily came back to, only to watch Jakob do this and turn it around in his hands. It was not like Jakob was impressively attractive, but the instant shipping that went on in her head created Angel’s blood to flow a bit too hot and her head lulled back once more.

Jakob offered the dry part of his shirt.

“Merci.” Sandra said, then cleaned them off, apparently not aware of Angel’s brief revival. It was spotty and a terrible cleaning job, but it was better than not being able to see at all.

In the meantime, Jakob summoned a towel. He could not clear his head of a strip of fabric he’d seen that was a bright blue and dotted with yellow duckies. It was childish, but the towel was warm and freshly clean. When she was satisfied with her glasses he dropped it over her like a blanket and smiled. Myst looked shocked, and then blushed very brightly as she looked away.

“That should help. I can just summon more when we get to beach.” Jakob said, kneeling back in the puddle she had made by being pulled out.

With it on top of such a smooth white surface, Myst wondered if it would be dangerous to other people. She began to run her towel through her short hair. She didn’t like the idea of being near more water. “Where iz that, and what iz in the oppozite direction?” She asked, her accent icing over her words.

“It iz this way.” He said, pointing towards Coruscant’s portal. He knew the long way, but there was no one to stop him and tell him that there was a gate just next to it that would be easier. “And..” Jakob paused, looking the opposite way of Coruscant. He pointed towards the closes door. “I think it is Tangled Greens that is over there.” He informed. “Or vas it Ashen Steppes?”

Trick question; It was both.

Myst nodded abruptly, then stood on her legs, finding that she lacked shoes still. She curled tighter in the towel. Omni said that she just had to think of things she wanted and the Omnilium would make it. Like Jakob made the towel. She could wait for shoes. “Zen I will go there. Merci, Monsieur. Et tu, Monsieur.” She nodded to Jakob then Cade, hesitating at Angel. “I ‘ope zat she iz truly okay,” Myst said, nodding once more before lightly jobbing in the opposite direction and away from the horrid water.

Jakob and Cade were left scratching their heads. More Jakob than The Centurion as he was trying to wake Angel up once again. The Russian shook his head: “Udachi.” He said, then turned to Angel and their new friend. He pulled on his wife-beater and then his armored vest. “Angel. Get up. We go to the beach now.” He said, picking her up like a doll. Cade had no idea how to stop him or if he should. “You, too. Yes?” Jakob said, grabbing him by the shoulder with his fleshy hand. “This way. I know shortcut.” He claimed but headed for the Coruscant gate despite Vasty Deeps being very near it. “We get cottoncandy.. And Popkorn.”

Cotton candy sounded great right about now. Honestly, he didn't have anything else to do or anywhere else to go. Trusting this Jakob character would have to be enough for now. First things first, the fountain fiasco had left Cade soaked. He pulled off his doused hoodie and wrapped it around his waist, leaving just a grey T-Shirt. As he knotted the sweater, he felt something bulging in one of the pockets. He retrieved a dark green beanie, the small brown tag still stitched into the brim. He stopped in his tracks, staring at the hat. Jakob, already on his way to the gate, stopped and glanced back. He caught sight of the motionless Cade and cocked an eyebrow. The Russian adjusted his grip on Angel and called out to his new traveling companion.

"Problem?"

Jakob's question dragged Cade out of his memories, his heart pounding. Cade looked up at Jakob and forced a smile. "No! No, I'm good. Mahalo- um thanks."

Jakob turned back and kept walking, leaving Cade to take a shivering breath and tuck the beanie into his cargo short pocket. By some miracle, it was barely damp. Cade was thankful for that. He said a quiet prayer for both himself and for Gwen Adler. Having her hat, the same hat he was supposed to return after meeting up with his friends at Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden by their school. At east he had something to remember home by, something to remember her. The young hero shook his head and shoulders, hoping to dispel any remaining emotion, and caught up with Jakob. By the time he came up beside the Russian, Cade was calm. However, he was no less confused, especially after the sudden appearance and disappearance of that french girl and the fainting of Angel. His suit had failed to translate the french that the girl spoke, which worried the young man. That along with the terrifying malfunction after first arriving made him nervous to run any sort of diagnostic. For now, he would survive in this strange Omniverse without his suit. He had done it before, in other places. Now was the time for gathering intel.

"So," Cade began. "Where are we headed exactly?"

"The beach! Sand and sea and good times for all."

"Not to be rude or anything, but... why?"

"Not any specific reason." Jakob motioned with his chin to the unconscious girl "More for her."

Cade kept one hand in his pocket, fingers curled around Gwen's beanie. It was unconscious; Cade was never one to rely on something external to provide him comfort. However, that reminder of home meant everything to him, especially so far away from Gwen, Kirby, and his mom. He tried to focus on listening to Jakob, but he couldn't help but worry. His family and friends were alone back in his world. He couldn't be there to protect them, and that was killing him. Safeguard, Athena, the other heroes that worked with Initiative, he knew they would step up. Nonetheless, there was little Cade could to to prevent that heart-wrenching worry paint horrid pictures in him mind. He tightened his grip on the hat, praying once more for his ohana.

"As long as I get answers. This Omni guy, if he's dragging people from their worlds like that poor french girl I have to stop him." And find his own way home, but Cade knew that was selfish. He kept it in his head.

"HA. HA HA." Jakob chuckled. "You saw, same as I have, that Omni is powerful. Too powerful for you to do anything about him."

"Yeah. We'll see about that." Cade had a newer, stronger reason to get his suit up and running. for now he followed Jakob closely, his eyes constantly scanning the whiteness.

If there was any way to stop Omni, to bring whoever else was trapped here home, Centurion would fine it. Cade swore to it.

As the two men walked through the ever expanding white space before them, neither of them talked, both were to preoccupied with their own thoughts to even notice what the other was doing most of the time. This, despite the obvious need of an unconscious to be looked after, also applied to Angel, neither giving her any attention as she begun to open her eyes.

As her two eyelids slowly lifted up to the light, the lack of scenery didn’t give much in the way of knowing if her vision was blurry or not. Looking around she saw two of her companions. “Kat? Jack?”

Jakob stopped when he heard a name, turning to face whoever was talking but with the added weight and his drugged up body with something that slows his reaction already, the two go crashing to the ground. Jakob landing on top with pure coincidence and faced her. He slowly started to get up, mumbling his apologies in Russian before the still dazed Angel grabbed him by the fur collar of his vest and yanked him down into a kiss.

Jakob was surprised. More of the passion he registered in the kiss than her lips on his. Like the woman in the car Jakob couldn't make himself stop her. Without thinking about Cade watching, Jakob pushed into the kiss.

He was rough, not lover material in the least. His mouth crushed her's and she felt his stubble scratch her chin. His born with hand came up to caress her soft face, his callused hands were nothing like she was expecting. Jakob got really into it, but by that time she understood something was off.

Cade stared awkwardly at his two companions of brightly colored body parts as they felt each other over, their faces practically inseparable before looking away respectfully, “Guys… Um… I know moments like this are sudden but…”

’Подожди, это не Кэт..’ Angel thought to herself in Russian. ’Это..

It was at this moment that the blue-haired girl remembered where she was, the adrenaline clearing from her mind. Quickly pushing the Russian on top of her off, Angels face became a pink that threatened to make her hair seem mild in comparison. “I’m so so sorry, IMistookYouFor ThatPersonAgainAnd-And” Angel stopped her mindless ramblings when she noticed her vision was still blurry, “...And I’ve lost my contacts.”

Jakob didn't fight her. Too much. He was clearly getting into it, but stopped when he was shoved hard enough to throw him off. He just laid there after that. Like he was stunned by all of this, but this was just Jakob. "What are 'contacts'?" He eventually asked, looking up at Cade wondering if he knew.

"Contacts?” Cade was little taken aback about Jacob not having this common knowledge” They'r.... uh... the eye things. So you can see. Without glasses."

Jakob continued to make himself harmless by pinning himself to the ground while he tried to imagine these foreign ideas. Angel would know that in his cannon background there were such things as contacts and glasses, but strained to come up with an example of someone who did wear contacts. After all his debut was a short film, they barely did him any justice. In the meantime he tried to comprehend the idea of using something that wasn't glasses to see. "But... Why would you not just vear the glasses then?"

In surround sound he got a chorus of 'Um's.

He knew that sound, it was the sound of people trying to come up with an answer to a question he was almost the only person who would ask. "I do not understand... But if it upsets Angel then it is no good, da?" Jakob asked, looking in whatever direction was up at Cade. "Vhat do we do?" Again, the man had a hard time suggesting any simple solutions. Had Jakob any concept of how much delicate work it went to creating a pair of glasses for someone, he might not think his plan was that great. He raised his least threatening hand, the one that was not robotic, and began to summon the only pair of glasses he's seen recently. The girl from the pond had on bright red glasses. He knew what they were, but he came from a place where you could just put robot eyes in your head if you weren't happy with things like this. He wasn't a master at glass-thickness, but Jakob produced of rough copy of Myst's red framed spectacles. "Here." He said, but didn't want to approach her in case she was going to shove him some more.

“Thanks…” Angel said, leaning and then crawling over to where Jacob was to pick up the duplicate glasses with her thumb and forefinger. She knew it wouldn’t work, knowing him he failed to compensate that different people need different types of glasses. Heck, the fact he summoned myst’s pair was enough to confirm that, but she thought it best to humor him anyway. Carefully slipping the glasses on with her index finger, she looked up, “Wow… These work better then my contacts!” Angel was at a stage between surprise bewilderment and Joy, she was seeing the best she had ever done in her life. “Wait, what is that?” She asked, referring to a grey rounded object in the distance, her curiosity interrupting her delight.

“That is the gate to Coruscant.”

“What is Coruscant?” The blue haired girl responded, she knew she wouldn’t get anymore information unless she asked, Jacob forgets not everyone knows everything most of the time.

"It is how we go to Vasty Deep."

“And the Vasty Deep is…” She tried not to get annoyed.

"The beach." He said, looking up to her. She'd know this was his norm.

“Well then,” She said grabbing the arms of both Jacob and Cade, the latter of whom was slightly startled. “Пойдем.” And she started pulling them along.
