Yo, couldn't find this in the rules. If I purchase an Alt form that changes my appearance slightly(Changes to hair color/length, slight changes to body size[like muscle mass and height] and eye color) must I buy the Shapeshifting power?

Nope. Alt forms don't require Shapeshift.

In the Omniverse is the back story of Palpatine still canon with Star wars? and if so was he intending to already build the empire before coming to the Omniverse.
If that is the case are the current storm troopers still based off of the clone troopers?

Is Aragorn a specist? if not then why is the rest of the kingdom this way
Emperor Palpatine's backstory (to the omniverse) can be found here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=14

As to the storm troopers, I believe so? That's what I've been led to believe anyway.

It says the Confederation of Independent Systems and that they were the ones building the clones.. which while kinda true the clones were on the republics side.
But fair enough on the Troopers.
It seemed from how I read it that Aragorn only really made Humans as did Palpatine and the other races in the Kingdom came from other Primes.
An additional point off of what Yukki said, a lot of the major populations were created as a byproduct when primes like Palpatine and Aragorn were creating the major cities of their verses.

Like Palpatine imagines Coruscant, and summons one of its skyscrapers. Once he's done he finds its already occupied by a collection of people that would make sense to live there.

That's how most of the major towns formed, not by directly summoning each and every inhabitant.

As for the speciesism that plagues the kingdom, Aragorn himself is not speciest (Thrall is one of his major allies despite being an Orc) but many of the people that were unintentionally summoned would be in-influenced by Aragorn's beliefs and views, and therefore much more susceptible to the whole racism/speciesism thing.
If history is to become legend, it first must be recorded.
First question: Regarding the balancing of powers, moves etc. as described in the rules: is this more of a "rule" element intended to balance combat for players, or is it an actual part of the IC-Omniverse?
As an example, would the advanced technology of Stormtroopers be inherently stronger than the medieval Camelot soldiers tech because neither are player Primes, or would they be equally strong because the "balance" thing is part of the universe, not just a rule?

Second question: Supposing that one purchases an Assist, how do moves function for them? Are they able to use the same moves that the summoning Prime can or must moves be purchased separately for that Assist, which may not be used by the Prime?

1: Equally strong. Camelot uses magic to enhance their weaponry to be on par with the tech of the Empire.

2: They have access to your move pool, but you can also purchase them moves separately.

Thanks for replying! Question 2 is cleared for me.

For the first, unfortunately not so... I'll try to rephrase, here's hoping that I do better this time.

In short (to my understanding) the balancing rule says that moves, powers etc. must be equally powerful when wielded by two people of the same strength, regardless of what they appear as - so a lightsaber would inflict the same damage as a sword despite being much more advanced tech, whereas in a "regular" universe it would just slice through the sword. Also, things such as elemental advantages ("water extinguishes fire") are meaningless in fights. This applies to players, to balance combat.
My question is, how, if at all, does this rule apply outside of PvP fights? Do tech differences and elemental advantages play a role - would Dracula be more vulnerable to a silver sword than to an iron one? Or does the balancing rule apply across the board?

Well, Drac is a Prime, so I assume he follows the same rules as normal Primes. IE: no inherent weaknesses unless he wants to roleplay it that way.

In regards to balance, yeah. Two Secondaries show up, one with a laser gun and one with bow and arrows. All things being equal strength-wise between them, they'll deal the same damage. Unless the "Moves" governing their weapons were worded differently. Ie: a bow firing slowly, but with more punch than the laser gun.

Would a player-made NPC be able to start and run a faction?

Specifically, one of my NPC Primes is a vigilante. Would he be able to reach out to other vigilantes in the Omniverse(probably just through physical meetings, getting that up on the Dataverse is kinda difficult to do without attracting attention from the CPD) and organize a faction with them?
I mean sure, why not. But just remember, you can't use said NPC/ NPC's future faction to negate the cost of anything like a base.
Howdy Doo.

Okie-day. Alt forms. When I 'Switch' between my alt forms, how quickly this happens is dependant on my characters speed. My question, although I think I know the answer, is: "Who's speed do I use?" Is this my current forms speed switching into the second's? do I use the base speed of my original character? Halp please.

The current form's speed.

Question regarding the Frozen Fields void quest:

Quote:Location: Frozen Fields
Requirements to complete (can be started earlier). May be completed alone or as a group.
5+ ATK between entire group (may use powered-up stats as basis). Requirement lowered by 1/2/3 if you have a Tier 1/2/3 Super Attack.
8+ SPD and/or DEF between entire group (may use powered-up stats as basis). Requirement lowered by 1 for each Power of any type.

Does the SPD/DEF requirement mean that I can add my SPD and DEF up?

If "Earth" in real life is any part of a character's backstory, can they know of other characters in the omniverse through media that exists here?

In preparation of the void quest I have a few questions regarding the mountains in the Frozen Fields where the blue dragonflight have made their roost (aka where the void gate is):

-Are these the mountains in the center of the Frozen Fields verse? If so, is it safe to assume that they are different from the Mountains of Madness?
-Amaterasu is starting her quest from Dwarfholm - would this mean that she is essentially at the foot of the mountain that she intends to climb, or would she still need to cover a large horizontal distance first?
-About how high would the highest peaks be - the same dimensions as Mt. Everest in the real world (8,8 kilometers), more, less? And if they are similarly high, is the Omniverse realistic insofar as that the peaks of the mountains have very thin air and would require equipment or a special body to navigate without "suffocating"?

Just to toss out a couple of answers here. May be wrong/mistaken but someone else can feel free to whap me upside the face if I am. :frogpipe:

-- The center of any given verse is hard to judge. Maybe they are? Maybe they're not? It doesn't say one way or another. One thing is probably a safe bet is that they are different from the mountains of madness.
-- Again, maybe? Mountains are everywhere. It may be nonspecific for a reason. Just go with whatever makes for the better write-up/reading.
-- How high would they be...hard to say. Probably pretty damn high. Called the ceiling of the Omniverse for a good reason, after all. As for the second part, probably? Primes don't technically need to breathe, so it wouldn't really be an issue. But as to whether the air is thin or not, whether you'd need special gear/conditioning to handle it, or whether the air is suddenly fuschia (which may or may not be related to not getting enough air Confusedhh: ) is pretty open to the person in question.

Not really definite/concrete answers, I guess...but hopefully it was of some help? :frogbon:

....maybe? :poop:
If you see me around and you got questions, just give a shout. I'm happy to assist.
