Dave opened his eyes to the white of the Nexus, choking softly on imaginary blood as he flailed about for a moment, before sitting upright with a sudden jerk.
Dammit.
His mind flashed back to those moments with bro on the roof, and he always had his ass handed to him there too. Damn, he needed to get stronger. That colonel guy was beefy, though. Beefier than a well-inspected frank that made first place in the local farmer competition before getting served up to some porked up dude who ate for a living. Anyways, there was only one way to get better, and that was to fight some more assholes. He checked his dataverse device. Either he could try to catch in on more hellish battles in the Nexus when they happen, or maybe he can just do some bounty hunting.
The prime sat up and was met with a great ache in his back and stomach. Whelp. So much for getting back on your feet right away. Dave gritted his teeth only slightly before resuming his usual slouch, looking at the fountain, which spewed blood-red water out of its ornate and od fashioned design. It seemed to change all the time, and Dave wondered if it ever would change to the same image again. With a hmph he scanned his surrounding area, trying to figure out where to go. If anything, he might try the ashen again, see if he can't work out something to do. That shitty sword is already gone by now, that Colonel dude probably made off with it. Whatever, there's always another shitty sword somewhere. People make those things like they are going out of style. They probably are out of style, actually, but who gives a shit. They are the best to break in half anyway.
Dave stretched out as he browsed the Dataverse, if anything, it might be good to get with a group that can help him out if needed. Hmmm, those two are down, for now, there's this Thieve's Guild, nah, he isn't for being the sneaky type. Hmmm, what about these Blades guys, they're also in the Ashen, might as well join them. And whaddya know, it's on the way home. Switching off his display, Dave began his stroll across the Nexus, shaking of the death he just experienced. Gotta stay alive, can't be letting these dead Daves pile up again.
