you are being too nice then lol, sometimes you need to take away some political rights to create jobs, my nation's economy only started to grow once I turned it from a social democracy to a benign dictatorship. For me it's my civil rights that keep dropping XD. Anyway don't worry to much about those as the chart shows if you have max civil, economic and political rights your nation is is in a state of anarchy.

I think a big problem Nationstates has is the extreme consequences from your decisions on issues.
Like, I just wanted to continue to allow plea-bargains in my court system. Not start a trend where innocent defendants will just plead guilty to get out of a harsher sentence. I didn't want the government start breaking up large business because I just wanted anti-trust laws to be respected, or that poorer towns be converted to nature reserves when instead I just wanted the one fucking town to be converted.

“Human hunting is a cruel and horrible ‘sport’ for the wealthy,” says Sipho Mistletoe of the ‘Protect Anything Cute and Furry Society’. “How can you possibly justify it? Oh, they witter on about ‘tradition’ and ‘pest control’ and other such nonsense, but really we all know it’s because these sadists love to torture poor, innocent animals! Hunting must be banned!”

Well, it's a pretty casual game. Checking in about once a week, doing some Issues, then hopping off is a perfectly viable play option.

Most of the fun of it comes from the ridiculous issues and sharing them with friends. Without that, I'd probably have given it up a long time ago.
