Member 2 years ago when I injured my hand? Well, people still wondered for ages. I had said that it's been gradually getting better. Good news. I'm typing this. I noticed when explaining something in FFXIV, where I typically avoid typing, that I wasn't getting stiffness in my hand. I'm still very careful with the way I type, but the problem is largely gone. I still am very careful around things that trigger it, like keyboard and mouse games, and I'm curious to see how typing this post freehand (the first longer post I've written without voice recognition software in 2 years) will affect it. Slight twinge in the elbow at the end of this paragraph. NBD.
People have wondered where I'm around lately. Welp, my life is in the midst of another big move. This time, to Glasgow, to move in with my girlfriend. I've been heading up to Glasgow about once a month or so since July, the last time for ten days, and I'm hoping to move up in the new year. So that's my current excuse for busy-ness.
Right now I'm trying to focus on scril... money, and figure out exactly how I'm going to move forward from semi-self-employed to making enough actual money that I can live a normal life. I've been letting my proofreading business stagnate while I elope piss around, but what with needing money for that whole thing, I'm trying to get my ass in gear and get more work. On the Omniverse front I've thought about what I can change and improve upon, and chances are good that I'm going to move into my original role, not roleplaying much but focusing on admin duties, with Samus and Enel as effectively NPCs. We'll see, for now I still want to finish their current arcs. I do need to get back to advertising, we fell off RPG-D (because our RPG-D button wasn't back up INSTANTLY) when I made the site move and we've lost some traffic from that. Damn place is so ornery.
My dream has always been to write a book, but as I get older I know that my fascination with games has always driven me to create things like the Omniverse, or spend hours theorising about systems. I think that I need to create something that can fuse all my loves together, and still ... y'know, profit. I love my life, but at some point if I wanna support a family, I'm going to need to afford real shit, like beds. For now I should probably just focus on expanding Essays by Eight so I have some actual income coming in. For those of you who've donated through the site or patreon, thank you, you're awesome.
So my hand is still only a tiny bit affected by this post. I'm avoiding using my middle finger of my right hand, the most affected, but with continual stretching and exercise I'm sure it'll keep getting better to the point where I don't notice it. Maybe I will try writing a post with my actual hands soon. Basically at this point the exercise seems to only make my hand better, not much worse. So I'm pretty happy.
