A disembodied voice huffed loudly, seeming as though he was trying to catch his breath. The voice was quite obviously of a man. But it was impossible to see who exactly he was. A classical song played over it all, like a crazy parody of an old horror flick.
"Grr!! How did I get into this mess...?" he asked, a tired undertone to his speech. It almost sounded desperate. He was obviously in a bit of a panic.
"THAT'S FAR ENOUGH!" yelled another voice. It was loud, commanding, deep. Angry, too. "You can't run forever, Mr. Phoenix Wright!"
From somewhere, a light shone. The sky was a strange, writhing, purple mass that didn't seem like air at all. Over it all stood two figures. A giant, bearded figure clothed in shadow, and a much smaller man in a blue suit. He was trying his hardest to stay standing, in the way of a heavy wind. The giant's eyes glowed like fire, betraying his demonic nature.
"Wha...!?" the blue-suited man stuttered, eyes filled with fear at the sight. "What have I done wrong?!"
"I cannot allow you to go on like this!" responded the giant, his face unmoving, forever stuck in a stoic show of sternness. The orbs that took the place of where his eyes would be began glowing brighter.
On the other hand, the person that faced him went silent for a minute. The confusion wrought by the shadow's words were showing on his features.
"B-But I'm just a simple defense attorney!" he shot back, attempting to look brave despite himself.
"Silence!" roared the shadow. His arm raised, revealing a large, wooden hammer. A gavel. "You are no longer worthy of your title."
The lights faded, and the gavel swung down. There was a loud, final smash, as the song reached its crescendo.

The Omniverse

"Ngh..." I sat up, letting the dizziness course through me. Man, what a dream that had been. And I had slept in my suit! Must have been a tiring day. Or maybe my age was getting to me. Though I wasn't really that old... No matter. First, I had to find a way to explain what had just happened. There was a man... no, a monster? I couldn't tell. He had no eyes, and a very wide smile. He explained to me that I was in the Omniverse, a world he created. Apparently, I had interested him. I can't really understand why, though. I'm a defense attorney. Nothing more.
And yet, here I was. In this empty landscape. Alone. Toccata and Fugue was playing from a place I couldn't see, and for a moment, it baffled me. Was there a speaker somewhere? As my mind warmed up again, though, I realized that it was my phone. I still had that dumb ringtone. Maya must not have changed it back. That explained the nightmare, too. With a small chuckle, I pulled the thing out of my pocket. Nobody was calling. It was an alarm of some sort. It had no description, it was just there. I stuffed it back into my pocket, pushing myself to my feet.
"Nick! Hey! There you are," a familiar voice called. I immediately turned toward its source. Maya was here too, it seemed.
"Hey, Maya," I replied, flashing a weak smile. I was alive, at least.
"Where are we? All I remember is that we were out getting burgers back in L.A... Now we're here?" Her voice carried the telltale signs of confusion, and anguish. This Omni guy had gotten in the way of her burgers. You never do that.
"The... Omniverse, I think it's called. We were pulled here by its god, Omni. Obviously, he likes the publicity."
"Well, he better let us out! We have food to eat, people to see! I still need to catch up on everything I missed with Trucy!"
Right, Trucy. She was still at home. Apollo could take care of her for the moment, but I was still her father. I needed to get back home.
"Well, come on then. We have work to do."

Carmelita remade her patrol car, the black and white paint job working well with the combination of repulsors and the classic look of the Interpol patrol cars. The logo might be different, the organisation it belonged to might be different, the propulsion might be different, but underneath it all it was still what she instinctively thought of as ‘the’ patrol car.
She set off from the gate, making a beeline for the fountain visible in the near distance. The featureless rippling of the terrain made for slower going than she might have liked, the undulations difficult to read as she drove.
With only a few minutes to go before she passed the fountain, Al3x called her. She touched her earpiece and kept her eyes on the non-existent road as she answered.
“Hey Al3x, what’s going on?”
++Bad news. Whoever it is who sent the request backed out when I sent them a confirmation that you were on your way. Seems we’ve had our first prank call.++
“You’re kidding me,” Carmelita growled, huffing in frustration. “Never mind, I’ll drive about the Nexus for an hour until I work out what to do next. Thanks for the update.”
++No problem.++
The AI hung up and Carmelita slowed to a crawl as she swore in Spanish. After cursing for a short time, she noticed a couple of figures break off from the crowd that always seemed to exist near the fountain. Idly noting that the fountain appeared to be nothing more than a steel pipe and a drainage bowl at the moment, she was surprised when the man in blue waved at her, hand in the air and looking very much like he wanted to catch a lift.
The Inspector applied the brakes, slowly coming to a halt by the two. The passenger side door in the back was opened and the man climbed in gesturing for the woman accompanying him to follow.
“See, Maya, it’s not that hard to do,” the man said, straightening his blue suit and patting the seat next to him. “All I had to do was raise my hand.”
Maya’s shoulders sagged as she looked at Carmelita, then at the paintwork on the car, then back to the man.
“Nick, I never said you couldn’t catch a taxi. I said you couldn’t catch this taxi.”
“But I did!”
“Nick, it’s not a taxi.”
The man blinked and turned his head to the driver’s seat. Carmelita smiled, desperately holding back laughter, and nodded politely.
“Good day, sir, ma’am. My name is Inspector Carmelita Fox-Cooper. It’s the first time my patrol car has been mistaken for a taxi, but I’ve got nothing better to do than give you two a lift.”
There was a pregnant pause.
There was a pregnant pause.
"U-uh... Maya, I'm not seeing things, right?" I asked, wide-eyed and quite obviously confused. I really needed to work on my poker face. I used to be so good at it, too...
Maya simply nodded, a slow smile spreading across her face. "Nope! Hi, Ms. Fox-Cooper! I'm sorry about my friend Nick here. He doesn't really know how taxis work."
I frowned, in silent argument to her claims. "Well, it's not exactly my fault that I had to ride my bike everywhere! Cars are expensive."
The fox, by now, was simply listening to our banter, a wide grin plastered on her face. I didn't really get what was so funny, but whatever floated her boat.
I cleared my throat, sheepishly. "Anyway, I apologize. I really don't know what taxis look like, I guess. Especially not here. My name's Phoenix Wright."
Maya leaned back, smile still growing. I sometimes wonder if she's secretly the Cheshire Cat. "And I'm Maya Fey!"
Carmelita nodded. "A pleasure to meet you both. So where are you two going?"
Well, there was the sticking point. I had no idea where the heck to go, now. I didn't even know where I could go! Especially since I had only gotten here minutes before. Maya looked equally as confused, and I didn't blame her. The Inspector raised an eyebrow, before seeming to realize something.
"Right, you guys are new. You already know who Omni is, correct?"
"Yes." "Nope!" Maya and I stared at one another for a moment. She... didn't know who he was?
"Okay. Phoenix, you're probably what we call a Prime. Let me explain..."
-
"...and that's what that means."
What a welcoming speech. What she was saying was, I'm some sort of half-god, and I can create things at will. Also, I technically couldn't die. Maya was caught in an odd smile-frown combo.
"Well... Nick! You can make me burgers, right? With your mind?" I nearly burst out laughing. Of course that's what her mind would instantly turn to.
"I suppose. Though, I'm not quite sure if I can summon as many as you can eat."
"Technicalities! I don't even need to st- er, borrow your wallet anymore!"
Maya was grinning like a maniac now. I wasn't really surprised. What a start to an odd adventure.

They come through the stoned mossy gateway of Pale Moors. Kung Fury and Mei look around noticing that they are the only ones present in this part of the Nexus. From the bright whiteness of the environment, the cop puts on his wayfarer sunglasses to tune down the brightness to his eyes. "Where to next?" questioned Mei looking back at Fury. Using the Omnilium, Kung Fury summons his red Lamborghini Countach sitting in front of them. "Well, I was thinking we should visit Coruscant since that is the verse that I have knowledge of then any of the other verses in the Omniverse." responded Kung Fury opening the driver's scissor door then gets in the vehicle. "Sounds good to me!" chirped Mei getting in guest side of the car with excitement about going to other new places.
The car speeds off into the white horizon of the Nexus away from the gateway. They were moving around seventy miles per hour and the steering of the vehicle felt as if they were driving on asphalt of a road but the ground was made with some kind of unknown material. With the radio on, it was playing 80s synth-pop from a cassette tape. "The city is something you could be familiar with since it's made of high tech. involving with huge cyber buildings but of course every city has a dark-side. With the capital of the Empire being big, the lower tiers are filled with nothing but criminal scum and poor living. I hate it that the poor have to be threaten by criminals everyday and I want to do my best to make the right to clean the streets with protection." said Kung Fury focusing on driving.
"I know how you feel Fury and I would love to make that kind of possibility too from the world I came from. From my time, we have experienced trouble times especially a great war which was why the overwatch was created to establish peace. That is my goal to is at least do something for this new world I stepped into." said Mei whipping her glasses with her tank top and looking at fury. "Maybe we should become partners then." said Kung Fury with a courageous smile on his face. Mei smiles back too and says "That I wouldn't mind." They were ten minutes out until they reach the fountain.
"I also want to say thanks for saving me back there. If it wasn't for you, I would've been screwed. Your a pretty rad scientist." said Kung Fury looking back at Mei still driving. From Kung Fury thanking her, this made her blush a bit looking down and replies back "Oh...uh..Y-your welcome." They approach the fountain and they noticed that there is some kind of looking patrol car similiar to what it looks like law enforcement but definitely not a EPD authority. They start slowing down at reaching the fountain and pulling up to the patrol car which Kung Fury was wondering if something was wrong here.
He parks behind them and the both get out of the retro super sports car. Carmelita notices the two walking up to there vehicle making in her car's door mirror her think that they might be possible trouble makers but Mei doesn't seem to have that look but Kung Fury does look like a fighter. She notices that Kung Fury does have some kind of police badge on which he could be a prime with some kind of law enforcement. They walk up to the car and see Carmelita, Maya, and Phoenix in the car.
Kung Fury walks up the driver's window and Carmelita rolls it down to talk to him. "Afternoon, ma'am the name is Kung Fury with the EPD and I was wondering if you were doing alright."

Carmelita gave a huff of amusement.
“EPD? Be careful Camelot doesn’t catch you on neutral ground.”
The man’s eyes widened then narrowed. Carmelita noted the man shifting his feet slightly for a better stance.
“Inspector Carmelita Fox-Cooper, SupraPol,” she continued, pulling her badge from her jacket pocket and showing it to Kung Fury.
“Never heard of you.”
“You wouldn’t have,” she replied. “We’re less than a month old, and still working through the legal side of things.”
As the two police officers exchanged details, Maya shrugged to Phoenix, who turned back to the conversation with a glint of curiosity in his eyes.
“Sorry, could you explain what’s going on here? I’m not exactly familiar with the legal situation in the Omniverse.”
Carmelita turned and pursed her lips in thought before turning back to Fury.
“I think we should all have a chat to explain the situation, but do you mind if we move away from the fountain? I don’t like the current look it has.”
Kung Fury turned his head, noticing Mei fingering her ice blaster nervously as she looked up at the fountain, which was altering quite violently into some form of organic monstrosity. He gave Carmelita a nod before the pair returned to their squad car, and the two vehicles pulled out and drove in convoy away from the Fountain.
---
It was a short, fifteen minute drive that put them exactly between the metal gate of Coruscant and the dusty gate of the Dunes. Carmelita pulled her patrol car up facing back towards the fountain in the distance, and Fury brought the squad car alongside.
The five of them got out of the cars, Carmelita summoning a couple of benches up against the vehicles. Phoenix and Maya blinked in surprise at seeing the seating arrangements being formed out of nothing but glowing iridescent liquid, but they held back their questions for the moment.
Once they’d all sat down, however, Phoenix couldn’t help but repeat his earlier question.
“So, what is the legal system like here?”
Maya smiled and shook her head.
“Nick, why is that your first question?”
“Hey! Last time I ended up somewhere I didn’t recognise, I was thrown into the courtroom without any idea what the law was. For once, I can finally stay ahead of the problem!”
The other three shared an amused look. Carmelita gestured to herself, silently asking if Fury was okay with her answering. On receiving a nod, she began to explain.
“I assume you remember I mentioned there were several nations in the Omniverse? Each one has its own law enforcement agency, and its own turf to police.”
The vixen gestured to the white expanse of the Nexus and the gates that could be seen nearby.
“The Nexus, and several other regions, can be considered to have no established legal presence, either because of their remote location, conflict, inhospitable climate or, in the case here, political borders.”
Phoenix frowned.
“Wait, doesn’t that mean it’s easy to skip town?”
The two police officers nodded. Carmelita continued.
“It is. The best the law enforcement groups can do at the moment is to post bounties on criminals who flee across borders, and most of them aren’t ever picked up. I, however, intend to change that.”
She turned back to Fury as she continued.
“I’ve established SupraPol, short for the Supranational Police and Response Team Agency, to handle international crime. We’re independent, non-political and, if I get the law enforcement to agree to it, able to operate anywhere in the Omniverse.”
The woman in the cold weather gear spoke up, a slight inflection in her words that sounded oriental.
“What do you mean by international crime?”
Carmelita summoned copies of the operating policy and handed one to the woman.
Quote:http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?...0#pid83470
“Terrorism, Sentient Right’s violations, the bad stuff that everyone can agree on. I’ve taken a leaf out of my original force’s handbook on that front.”
As the others scanned the document briefly, Carmelita received a call from Al3x. She brought out the eyepieces of her earpieces and answered, standing and walking a short distance away to answer.
“Al3x, is it urgent?”
++Not really. Chip was working on something and asked if I could check what time you’d be back. Seems she wants your opinion on her project.++
“I might have to take a raincheck on that, I encountered some people at the Nexus and we’re currently in the middle of something.”
++Fair enough.++
“Talk later.”
She turned around and returned to the sounds of conversation.
"Let me get this straight. Those arches out there are portals? To other worlds?" I asked, a note of incredulity to my tone. First, a land of no lawyers, and now a land of no lawyers, superpowers, AND magic? Man, this place was weird. Weirder than I first thought, anyway. Maya seemed to agree, at least with her expression. This was like some kind of strange cartoon, now that I thought about it. Unsettling, certainly. But... it really was a little cool. I mean, there's a lot you can do with that kind of power. Much evil, sure. But a lot of good, too. And that's really what matters, right? What good can we all do as people? This place was, perhaps, a question of that nature.
My name is Phoenix Wright. I'm a lawyer, and the head of my own law firm, slash talent agency (courtesy of my daughter). At least, I am at home. Here, I don't even know what I am. I'm not quite a lawyer anymore, as justice seems to be handed out by the cops and vigilantes. I may be a superhero now, what with my inability to die, and whatnot. I intended to change the justice system, make it even for the people that weren't criminals. So I guess I'm a revolutionary. The thought brought me a smile. Just like Dhurke, before his unfortunate demise.
Speaking of which, Apollo would be concerned about my disappearance. Athena surely would have called him back from Khura'in by now. Trucy... oh, Trucy. She was probably scared out of her mind. Hopefully, there was a way to get back, or at the very least, contact home. Trucy didn't deserve to lose two fathers. Not now, not ever.
"Nick? Are you okay?" Maya asked, and I jolted back to attention.
"Ah, yeah. Just... thinking, I suppose. About home."
"Oh... I'm worried too. Do you think there's a way back?"
"..." I went silent. She seemed to understand what I was thinking.
"So, what are these different nations you keep speaking of? Through the gates, I mean."

Mei couldn't help but stare at the the anthropomorphic fox. She thought she had gotten away from all the weird stuff, but nope. Truth be told, though, this was the kind of weird that she could get used to, and not the kind that required a trip to the therapist afterwards. As long as the vixen didn't morph into a freakish monster, they'd probably get along.
When Fury mentioned that the fountain was... well, turning into the bad kind of weird, they drove away between two of the gates and introduced themselves. Considering that they were driving towards one of the two gates, one of them must've led to Coruscant. She wasn't sure where the other entrance connected to, but she didn't care right now. Right now, Carmelita had some information that the climatologist wanted to know.
She examined the list that the fox had handed her. SupraPol almost felt like something related to Overwatch-- something she could relate to in a world of unfamiliarity. "You know, back in my world, I used to work in Overwatch. It mainly kept the world in peace, but I worked on keeping the environment in check. This definitely sounds like something I can help with."
Carmelita smiled, somehow looking friendly despite showing her teeth. "If you're really interested, we can get you in once we've finished talking."
Then Wright questioned where the other portals led to. "Well, I'm not entirely sure. I know Coruscant is over there," she pointed over to the entrance. "And over there..." she gestured over to the Pale Moors gate. "...Well, just don't. We almost got eaten by a house." Shuddering, she shook her head.
"Anyway, you mentioned that you're a lawyer. What's the court like over in your world?"

Kung Fury reads the document that Carmelita gave to him which intrigued his thought about this type of law enforcement. It is true that once those wanted primes are out of reach for the EPD they have nothing but to put a bounty on them. Waiting for someone to take the bounty which Fury would rather want to put the criminal to justice instead of having someone outside of law enforcement to go get them.
"Interesting." said Fury reading the SupraPol information on what they cover.
"How many primes you have working with you?" questioned Kung Fury.
"None at the moment, been planning for recruitment." responded Carmelita looking back at Kung Fury sitting in the same bench with her but is sitting on the other end having space between them.
The Kung-Fu cop has his right arm behind the bench and his right leg resting on his other while reading the document. Carmelita gets up and walks away from the group, answering the call from Al3x. While Carmelita was away from the conversation, Kung Fury looks back up facing at Pheonix and Maya.
"Who are you guys?" questioned Phoenix looking at Mei and Kung Fury
"I'm Mei, an Environmentalist from the organization of Overwatch. Don't worry, your not the only ones who are new here." chirped Mei responding to Phoenix
"Let me guess, you must be a super hero?" said Maya looking over at Kung Fury telling from his clothing and how he looks
"You can say that. I'm a cop from 1985 in the city of Miami. I have super Kung Fu powers that only one person that can master it. Like I said before, I work with the EPD now in Coruscant which is the capital of the Empire." Answered Kung Fury looking back at the new girl.
"You guys sound pretty cool! By the way, I'm Maya Fey and my friend here is Phoenix Wright." said Maya in a happy manner.
After half of a minute talking to Al3x, Carmelita returns to the group that consist the cop, the environmentalist, and the lawyer with his companion.

The conversation had turned to specifics of their origin worlds, and the five of them were quickly becoming absorbed in the conversation, when Carmelita received a call from an unknown number.
Connecting, she raised a hand to the others, Mei’s description of the original inspiration for Snowball petering out in mild confusion.
“This is Inspector Fox-Cooper, SupraPol. Who is this?”
++An Inspector? Perfect.++ The voice was garbled, but sounded both aged and mildly desperate. ++We’re in need of help. There’ve been kidnappings, and we’re only a small village.++
“Whereabouts are you?” Carmelita asked, silently adding Al3x into the conversation via another communicator call.
++The Tangled Green. We’ve sent a representative to the Nexus gate. Please, hurry.++
As the call hung up, Al3x chipped in with his opinion.
++As far as I can tell, it’s legitimate. I think they might have called your number through the personnel page… I’d advise trying to get some people to tag along though.++
“I agree. Thanks Al3x.”
Carmelita turned to the others and sighed.
“Duty calls. There’s a village in the Tangled Green that’s had kidnappings. From what I understand of the politics, outside of Ambrosia there’s not much in the way of a police force, so I’m on my own.”
She paused and looked at the four humans sitting with her. Carmelita wasn’t sure, but she thought she saw a brief glint of excitement in a couple of faces. She gave a slight smile.
“Of course, I’d not be against working with others…”

Mei had resummoned her coat and Snowball at Maya's request, allowing the drone to examine the newcomers. The medium looked at the robot in awe, reaching out to touch it. Snowball chirped cheerfully as she pet it.
"So what does it do?" Phoenix asked as Maya started chasing the drone.
"Snowball's like a field assistant. It usually flies ahead and returns if there's anything I should see. It even has a little chamber full of liquid nitrogen that it can spray out."
"Liquid nitrogen?" Maya repeated, having finally caught up with the robot. "Isn't that, like, really cold?"
"Yes it is--"
"But you WORK in the cold! Why do you need more cold?"
"You ever heard of cyrostasis?"
Before Maya could reply, Carmelita ordered everyone to be quiet. Mei tried to understand the half of the conversation she could hear; it wasn't very good from what she could tell. When the fox announced that someone's been kidnapping people in a place called Ambrosia, the climatologist tensed up-- that sounded really serious.
"You can't just go in there alone! We can help you!" Mei caught up to the vixen and turned to the group. "Right?" In response, Fury nodded.
"Of course!" Maya added, running up to join her. Before she could reach her, Phoenix pulled her back. "Nick! What-"
"Look, I want to help as much as you do, but we just arrived here 10 minutes ago. I'd rather keep you safe until we understand how this world works, okay?"
"...I guess you have a point."
"Alright," Carmelita started, "now that everyone's decided, are you ready?"

The drivers returned to their vehicles, and, giving Phoenix and Maya a brief wave, the three set out towards the Tangled Green.

"Sorry but, were going to stay here a bit. We just got here and I don't think were ready for action just yet." responded Pheonix to Carmelita
Maya became disappointed that they're weren't going to accompany the group of experienced primes.
"Will we ever see you guys again?" questioned Maya with a frown of dismay on her face.
"Don't worry, we'll cross paths again someday. We aren't going to disappear forever." said Mei with a cheerful smile at Maya's question.
"You might run into me on duty in Coruscant. If you guys run into any trouble in that city, feel free to call the EPD and they might send me." said Kung Fury looking back at Maya and Phoenix.
Mei and Kung Fury turn back to Carmelita then nod in agreement to the vixen's question. They both went to vehicles and waved goodbye as they walked away then got into their vehicles. Phoenix and Maya did the same to the experienced primes hoping they will see each other again some day. Mei and Kung Fury rode together again and Carmelita drove herself which she was in front while the two was following her to the verse that they never visited before.
The drive didn't took too long to get to the gateway from where they left from. Both of the vehicles are now closing in on the entrance of The Tangled Green which looked different from The Pale Moor's. It looked to be made out of wood but was covered with vines and other vegetation giving off a exotic look.
Carmelita puts her patrol car into park as Kung Fury and Mei roll up next to her. The cars where facing towards the gateway which they see a stranger waiting by it that had to be the Representative they were post to be meeting up with before going off on their mission. They get out of their vehicles and walk up to the verse's entrance. Mei was pretty interested in how this gateway was different from the other one they stepped into. From her, she was thinking maybe this verse had a different biome than the deadly Pale Moors.
