Just an odd question.

The last time I was here I had 1,667.43.

That's according to my roster. I did post another thread today, but I don't know how much OM that gave me.

Now when I come back, I have 7,173.09. (After I posted today.) But that post didn't give me 6,000 OM, so yeah.

I'm only asking because I don't want any hinky stuff to taint earning things fair and square. So if a mod simply tells me to keep it, I will. If they change it to whatever they deem necessary, sure. I wanted to bring it to someone's attention as I was thinking of adding moves to Rave's list but figured I'd ask first before I did anything.

I think there are two things factoring in here: First, the starting OM was set to 5.000 so nobody could have had less than 5000 - I imagine that your character's OM was adjusted to reflect that change.
The other thing is the Rest points, which are a recent addition. For your last post, you have earned 505,66 OM, I imagine that you wrote something around 2000+ words, equalling to 250ish OM, doubled thanks to your Rest Points.

Keep in mind that this is just over-the-thumb calculus and assumptions, as I am not 100% certain on everything.

I did have 5,000 in the beginning, though I spent it on the beginning stuff I needed to make moves. I was left with 200. After the initial posts with my starter thread and then my Hand of the Empire Thread, last I checked (which was over a year ago, mind you) it was at 1,667.43. That was the last recorded OM I had. And I just read about the Rest System, so that's cool. But I dunno where the rest came from. But even with the gained 505.66 OM from the post I put up today, that would put me at 2,173.09, not at the 7k it is now.

But I can leave it alone if you like. Stop asking questions. I'm honestly just curious. <_<;;

All characters start with 5,000 OM, minimum. I assume you earned the other 2,173.09 through your writing since then. Including the extra OM from the Rest Points.

Maybe you were thinking about the OM you earned, rather than the total of starting OM and Earned OM?

Right there it shows that starting 5,000 OM everyone gets get deducted to 200 as I spent 4,800 creating Rave. When I was here last, over a year ago, the mount of OM I had was 1667.43. That's what I left at. With the post I made today and the rest bonus, my calculations say it should be at 2,173.09, as I did nothing in the time I was gone. But the OM my CP says I have is 7173.09. The one at the top of the page.

Or do I just not pay attention to that? Am I dumb? o0

Your total OM doesn't decrease when you buy thing. Your Spent OM just increases.

Okay, so I guess I should ask; the bar at the top of the forum says I have 7173.09 OM. Do I have that much or does that number reflect something else?

EDIT: It also says it on the information next to my avatar. So I'm guessing it's the current OM I have. <_<;;

That is your total OM, without any Spent OM removed from it. Your Profile and Purchase Log will display the Amount of OM you have Spent. The difference between your total OM and your Spent OM is the OM you have to purchase more stuff.
