Target Acquired: Enemies of Coruscant
#1
Stepping out of his shower, Hiro dried himself off and threw his bedclothes into the hamper chute. They would fall several stories down to the laundry room, where a bevy of housekeeping droids would wash, iron and fold each article before delivering back to his front door. Such were the perks of a nice apartment in Tier 2.

The hacker regarded his wardrobe. He'd managed to fill it out quite a lot more since he first arrived, although he did seem to go through a fair amount of clothing. The situations he kept finding himself in were almost always hazardous to his outfits, so he'd taken to buying more than one of the same as backups. An elegantly tailored suit much like the one Karl Jak wore (it was even made by the executive's tailor!) hung next to the smudged jumpsuit he and Madotsuki had worn during their recent F-Zero victory. Next to those were his long jackets, leather trenchcoats and sturdy kimono styles next to cotton polos and T-shirts. He smiled a bit at his touristy tie-dyed "I <3 Coruscant" one, but decided against it. His bounty target had last been seen fleeing towards the Vasty Deep, and it would do to dress for the job and the environment.

Not the leather trench, for sure. He'd melt before his first day. No jeans either, they wouldn't breathe. His dark blue hachimaki were perfect for the tropical climate, though, so he pulled them on over his boxers. Next were shoes, or in this case, padded cloth boots. They wouldn't save his toes if a brick fell on them, but he wouldn't cripple himself on hard surfaces either. To top it off, he slipped on a white undershirt with a black Imperial vest, marked with dual sigils of the Empire on his lapels.

Then, the tools of his trade. Badge on the inside of the vest. Sword on the rough rope cord that served as a belt, and the tanto on his shoulder sheaths. Cybergoggles on his head, and lightweight wristcomp on his left forearm. Slipping on his interface gloves, he activated his goggles with a fair bit of trepidation, bracing himself for the still unsettling but by now familiar sight of the rogue Machine Spirit. It was currently hovering over his computer, fruitlessly gnawing on the monitor. It couldn't escape into the Dataverse unless Hiro physically interfaced with his desktop, and in any case, the rusty, oily monster seemed to prefer his ultra-high tech goggles. At least that's what he'd been able to conjecture. It followed him like an incredibly scary puppy and had a habit of popping up out of the corner of his HUD whenhe'd thought it hibernating. "I have to get rid of this damn thing one of these days...makes my skin crawl." The hacker mumbled to himself, before exiting his room and writing a short message to his roommate.

Hiro inhaled briskly and left the apartment, heading down the stairs looking like a Nipponese pirate. On Madotsuki's door, his message remained in black marker.
